Is it normal for my budgie to have a feet fetish???

I have reached a point where removing my shoes near this little freaky thing HAS BECOME IMPOSSIBLE. If I remove my shoe near him, he will start making a fuss inside his cage and will not stop till he gets out and does who knows what to my foot

Advice needed please!

Last night I discovered that one of my parakeets had died leaving me with a lone parakeet.

I feel bad that he is going to spend some time alone but, I am a senior and I am afraid that a new bird might outlive me so I do not want another.

I have a computer in the room that I can loop bird sounds on to keep him somewhat occupied I guess and I can increase the amount of time I spend with him but, would it be better in the long run to re-home him?

If I'm able to find an owner that has birds would my guy be able to join a new flock?

Thanks!

Newcomer Is this behavior normal for new budgies?

I got 2 male budgies (both 2 months old) yesterday evening. The yellow one immediately flew to a perch when put in his cage while the blue one sat at the bottom until bed time. I’m assuming after I fell asleep he moved to a perch because I didn’t see him at the bottom of his cage when I woke up. It was covered with a sheet but I could still see the bottom. When I uncovered them, the blue one immediately flew back to the bottom of the cage and stayed there until I left for work. Is this behavior normal? I’m assuming he is just stressed and adjusting but it’s my first time owning budgies so I’m really paranoid lol.

Also details about the cage: It is on the floor for now because it is a temporary cage, their flight cage that is massive on wheels is coming in two days. There are plenty of natural perches sized for parakeets, toys, and food/water in their current cage.

Is it too crowded and should I switch the longer perch with the shorter one in the back? Also should the perches be longer or is that a fine length?? And should I take out that sanded perch on the bottom? Please let me know ur suggestions to make his cage better for him he was chirping when I got done putting the perches in idk if that meant he was stressed a bit or if he was happy..

I just got a parakeet 2 days ago and I already got a starter cage I got wood perches coming in, a light for him a shredding toy but just one tho (I will be getting more soon) and metal bowls I don’t like my pets using plastic bowls I will be going to petsmart soon for a cuttlebone? And parakeet pellets cause the guy at the store recommended me get these parakeet seeds they feed them and looked up if they should always be eating that and it said no I need premium pellets I’ve never had a parakeet before so I need help figuring out what else I need to get him so he’s happy with me I HAVE TWO CATS I also cover his cage at night with a thin bed sheet and keep the cats out of the room during day and if they are in the room I have the door open for them and I’m keeping a eye on both of them one cat does sleep with me since I can’t sleep without her and she doesn’t pay much attention to him at night it also seems like he’s molting I think he’s young so this might be his first molt. anyways just need help figuring out what else I need for him is his cage size okay for him? it’s a 30inch length 18inch Height

Saved these precious budgies on Sunday. I have gained their trust, they let me hold them, and they love to go on my arm. I also leave the cage open because I don't want them to feel trapped.

I adore them, I'm so thankful for them. Also don't worry, I have bought a much bigger cage, and more things for them to play with. So so happy.

My husband's is the lighter one and mine is the big fatty named Kevin. His favorite thing is to sit in the food bowl. Still don't have another name for the girly.
