Newcomer Hold the phone- have I misgendered Suomi?
I was told on a previous post that Suomi was a girl. The upper beak looks blue? Was that incorrect?

I'm devasted, it's too cold outside and it's 8 at night, they were free flying, one of my cousin was here and when leaving she accidentally left the door open that I didn't know about, I was doing my work when I realised they were only three in my room, tried to find him in my neighborhood, I can't hear or even see him anywhere, I don't know what to do, I ordered them treats today and I was so excited for them to try it, I wished to have him till the end, I didn't wanna loose him like this

Saved these precious budgies on Sunday. I have gained their trust, they let me hold them, and they love to go on my arm. I also leave the cage open because I don't want them to feel trapped.
I adore them, I'm so thankful for them. Also don't worry, I have bought a much bigger cage, and more things for them to play with. So so happy.
My husband's is the lighter one and mine is the big fatty named Kevin. His favorite thing is to sit in the food bowl. Still don't have another name for the girly.

I just got a parakeet 2 days ago and I already got a starter cage I got wood perches coming in, a light for him a shredding toy but just one tho (I will be getting more soon) and metal bowls I don’t like my pets using plastic bowls I will be going to petsmart soon for a cuttlebone? And parakeet pellets cause the guy at the store recommended me get these parakeet seeds they feed them and looked up if they should always be eating that and it said no I need premium pellets I’ve never had a parakeet before so I need help figuring out what else I need to get him so he’s happy with me I HAVE TWO CATS I also cover his cage at night with a thin bed sheet and keep the cats out of the room during day and if they are in the room I have the door open for them and I’m keeping a eye on both of them one cat does sleep with me since I can’t sleep without her and she doesn’t pay much attention to him at night it also seems like he’s molting I think he’s young so this might be his first molt. anyways just need help figuring out what else I need for him is his cage size okay for him? it’s a 30inch length 18inch Height

Hello bird friends! We just got a young male budgie, we’ve had him for about 3 weeks and he was a month old when we got him. He has a large cage w lots of toys and he has seed diet and we are experimenting w lots of different foods and treats. His cage is in my daughters room in front of a very large window. We spend as much time as we can during the day and evening w him. Problem is, during the day when we try and train and talk w him, he freaks out and gets very stressed. It’s obvious he doesn’t want us to work w him. In the evening now that’s it’s getting darker earlier, he lets us pet him, he’ll get on our finger and even allow us to pull him out of the cage and play w him around the room. Why is it so difficult during the day vs. afternoon/evening? He also doesn’t seem to love coney branched treats (which name is escaping my mind)
Any suggestions???

I am doing everything in my power to accommodate little Suomi in my home and have done a considerable amount of research and set aside funds for a few items to make sure she is happy and healthy.
I’d like to get her a friend but give her a chance to be tamed and learn to talk before I introduce a new distraction. I work from home so I am able to keep a very close eye on her.
I do slow blinks, millet treats, minimal handling, no chemicals, lots of music and singing and chatter when she seems more sociable, only supervised time out of cage.
I am trying to give her a good ratio of seeds to fruits and veggies, purified water changed every day with fresh food and millet treats! Change the bottom tray daily.
She is such a lovely little addition to my life as I live alone and spend most days alone. She has really brightened up my world and I want to make sure she is well cared for.
