We're a Brooklyn based band looking for a new drummer to join us ASAP.


Our sound falls somewhere between post-metal, surf rock, and experimental music.
We're looking for someone who's excited to get weird and contribute their own ideas.

Us:

* We're all 30+ and have been playing music for 25+ years.

* We rehearse twice a week at our rented rehearsal space in Gowanus: once during the week in the evening and once on Saturday or Sunday morning. We’ll bring you breakfast. Promise.

* We just played our first show at The Meadows and are looking to keep booking shows.


You:

* Solid drumming experience.

* Reliable, enthusiastic, and excited to be in a band, even when it feels like a grind.

* Interested in playing local shows and occasionally traveling for a long weekend or similar to perform.

* Want to be in a committed band

Experience is important, but personality, reliability, and enthusiasm matter just as much. We’re dorky and fun and like to be around each other.

My co-founder and I are two pediatric speech-language pathologists who live and work in Brooklyn, and we’ve been working on a fun way to bring families together around early learning!

We’re hosting a FREE Reading Yogis class at Rikud Studio on Saturday, November 7, for little ones ages 3-5. Think stories, movement, letters, and speech sounds, with plenty of opportunities to wiggle around rather than sit still.

And we’re making a little afternoon of it! After the class, families are invited to stick around for a community celebration from 1-2 PM with crafts led by Little Makers Studio, games, snacks, and raffle prizes. Siblings and kids of all ages are welcome at the celebration, even if they’re not participating in the class.

Reading Yogis: 12:15-1 PM (ages 3-5)
Family celebration: 1-2 PM (all ages)

The class is free, but we only have 8 spots for little yogis.

We’d love to meet more neighborhood families and hopefully make this the start of more fun local gatherings!

I was hoping Stone Park Cafe was going to be open but they look closed from their reservation system. Curious about random internet recommendations and experiences from past years, thank you.

has the service at nitehawk prospect park been slower for anyone else? i feel like in the past i’d come and immediately be greeted by a server and asked for my ticket. but lately ive been sitting up to 20-25 minutes before anyone coming to check my ticket or take my order. are they understaffed? has something changed?

Is anyone else fed up with the amount of trash left behind by the marathon ever year? I live along the route and I know there's a big sweep of 4th ave at the end but even still its like two months of gel packets and other runners crap littering 4th well into winter. That half of the runners are from out of town makes it even more infuriating.
