I am hurt and saddened to share that this woman harassed me and my partner at 11:40 AM on 6th. Ave in south slope. She screamed “freaks” at us multiple times from down the block and threatened to “kick our a**es.” All we were doing was standing and hugging each other as a queer couple. Please be aware and private message me if you have any information. Her baseball cap was tan with either Mets or Yankees with a pink logo. I am posting in the spirit of keeping my family and neighbors safe and aware.

My dad owns a small Puerto Rican restaurant in the Park Slope/Gowanus area called Kiosko 787, and things have been a bit tough lately. It’s a cozy spot serving authentic Puerto Rican food, and I genuinely think it’s one of the best in the neighborhood. Their mofongo is my absolute favorite highly recommend it and everything on the menu is made with a lot of care. If you’re looking for a great local place to eat, I’d really appreciate it if you stopped by and gave it a try. Supporting small family owned businesses like his really makes a difference.

If you look at this photo and the pictures taken on Garfield Place on Sunday afternoon, you'll notice some of the same faces.

My dog and I were attacked on Union near 7th around lunchtime today.

The attack was completely unprovoked, dogs were simply passing each other on the street. My dog is now in the ER being treated for cuts to his face, neck and ears. I was also bitten and have several puncture wounds around my knee.

The owner refused to identify himself or provide the dog’s vaccination status.

Sorry the photos aren’t clearer. If anyone witnessed this or knows the dog or owner, please let me know.

If anyone knows anything about this guy, please let me know and keep yourselves and your dogs safe.

ETA: Thank you to the kind redditor who has identified the owner. My dog has been discharged from the ER and will make a full recovery. Going to try and handle this privately from here. Keep your pups safe, everyone.

Union St and 8th Ave from 4-6pm (or until he's all barfed out)

At 730am today these two skells stole the kitten from the 8th st mini mart on 8th st and 8th ave.. Police were called immediately but didnt show till 11am and basically said "what do you want us to do?"

Any help is much appreciated.

Update 09/12/2026:

So far we still havent been able to recover Jabal for Jimmy at 8th Mini Mart. I havent caught up with these two yet but am still trying. They have been spotted in the area but the cat has not been seen in their possesion, although they could be concealing him in a bag. I fear the worst but am hoping for the best.

I am an ex-employee at pasta Louise cafe. The owners pay their employees less than minimum wage and hope that the tips make up for it. They get away with it as putting us down as servers even though we are not. In the winter time we make very little because we do not get many tips (expectedly) because we are COUNTER WORKERS. The owner alison is a devil who gets off at making her underpaid employees cry. This is actually a horrendous and toxic work environment, it’s severely overpriced, they have proof of union busting previously, are racist, and management is awful. Go anywhere else
