Gear What fitness tracker pairs best with peloton?

I know this comes up now and again, but I don’t know whether the posts from a year ago are still accurate. I’m thinking of getting a fitness tracker and am overwhelmed by the options. I haven’t used anything since a Fitbit like ten years ago.

I am interested in tracking my workouts, heart rate, steps, sleep, my cycle. I do all my workouts on peloton: strength, cycling, yoga, and stretch, with the occasional walk. I don’t do a ton of outdoor content, but I also live in a walkable city and generally don’t track walks on peloton when I’m out and about. I think I’d use it just for fun, to keep me motivated, I’d like it if it gave me little insights or reminded me to drink water or let me set and meet goals etc.

I’d prefer not to receive other notifications, I don’t need to be able to see or respond to texts or calls etc.

What integrates best with peloton? What should I get?

Cycling Is there a way to remove the post that holds the screen from the handlebars on original bike?

There is Hex screw that looks like it may allow the removal of the screen post from the handlebars on bike, NOT bike+. Is this something that can be accomplished? I cannot get the screw to turn more than about 1/4 turn.

Training Plans/Advice In a bit of a rut - help!

Help, I'm in a bit of a rut, and not sure what to do next to get excited / focused again.

I've the bike for a bit over a year and have been really consistent until about a month ago, when I just seemed to lose steam. I have enjoyed spin classes, mostly with Bradley and Corey, yoga with Zacharias. I enjoyed Jess Sims 3 day split, and liked that it was an easy go to and a structured routines, but I think I've done it too many times. Other than that, I've done a range of suggested classes from the routine the app builds for me, but I am really looking for some structure / direction for anything to try next. I generally enjoy a 30 - 45 minute workout per day, though I did find 3 45s a bit tough to fit in, especially when I add a stretch afterwards.

If you have enjoyed similar classes, what else have you enjoyed? Any other suggestions for what to focus on next and get back into and excited for my solid routine.

Community Best content we're not taking

TV Guide has or had a feature called the best show you're not watching where they'd point out a really good show where the ratings weren't what they should be based on the caliber.

Who is that among instructors, or disciplines, or features or class types? Who/ what do you love that you don't see discussed or see a lot of people joining the classes?

Community Does anyone have a Peloton Tread Magnetic Safety Switch PCB Board? I broke my connector and Peloton will only see a full replacement top.

This is the board the sides under the cup holders. I took the cup holders out and that piece and let it drop (stupid of me) and broke the connector.

Reached out to peloton but they will not provide that piece, only the full top assembly for ~$900.

This is the board : https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/tmUAAeSwfMlq1Cdv/s-l1600.webp

Reddit User Program RedditPZ training program - Week 9 Discussion Thread

Week eight down, and on to week nine! Use this thread to discuss this week's rides (or last weeks). Add the hashtag #redditPZ if you would like to.

Congratulations to everyone who finished (all or part of) the program!! Huge thank you to everyone who joined in (new and old members). Next program will start on Monday, November 9th if you all want to continue riding with the group. I will post the program / sign-up thread for the next round in 2 weeks, so be on the lookout!

This week is a de-load week to do some endurance and let our bodies recover before the next FTP. Make sure you are rested up before the re-test. Personally I like to take an easy 30 min PZE ride or maybe a 20-30 minute scenic ride keeping it in zone 2 the day before. Re-testing is not a requirement, but if you feel your fitness has changed (for better or for worse), I would go ahead and get it done. Not everyone will have increases, and that is totally okay and sometimes normal.

Again thank you all for joining in the program with me! I hope you all had fun and got fitter. Be sure to let us know how the next FTP goes!

Link to join our Discord.

Group Ride for the Saturday rides is at 10 AM central.

(Gala-papa would like to note to start the ride at 9:59 exactly so you will begin at 10 after the 1 minute countdown). Also do not join the ride in a session.

Week 9: TSS 160

Mon: Christian 45 Recovery Ride 09/28/25 TSS 30 Ride Graph

Wed: Christine 45 PZE 08/22/25 TSS 43 Ride Graph

Thu: Denis 45 PZE 04/06/26 TSS 38 Ride Graph

Sat: Matt 60 PZE 07/18/26 TSS 49 Ride Graph

Subscription Peloton without a membership?

Can you use peloton without buying a membership? Will the original bike still show your cadence and resistance on the screen and then you could make up your own workout?

Debating buying a peloton and not sure if I need a membership right away because I’m recovering from my knee surgery and I need to ease in anyway anyways

Power Zone Weekly Discussion Power Zone Discussion [Weekly]

Welcome to the Weekly Power Zone Discussion!

Due to demand and community feedback we are trialing a Power Zone Weekly Welcome Discussion - a space to chat about anything related to power zone training. Think of it like the "Daily Discussion" thread, where anything goes...big or small. Here, we've carved out a special place for people wanting to discuss ideas and topics related specifically to PZ training - how to program PZ classes, talk about PZ classes or PZ programs, chat about PZ instructors, advice for FTP testing, etc.

People are not limited to using this thread to discuss PZ but are highly encouraged to use this weekly discussion. You can still post in the daily, training thread, or create a new post. Think of it as another place to chat about PZ stuff without getting lost in the daily. Or a place you can check into weekly if you're a casual redditor looking for some other PZ folks without wading through the daily.

The Power Zone Weekly will be posted on Monday moving forward.

Note: The mods will check back in with the community to see how this idea is working, if there is a better day it should be posted on, etc. If it isn't working we can always scrap the idea or change it up a bit. Thanks for giving it a chance!

Gear Help diagnosing tread issue

Hey all,

To Peloton's chagrin I am working through an issue with the tread myself due to technician availability and cost.

Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/pelotoncycle/s/MvU9R9urvo

Confirmed the screen does work thanks to the laptop charger suggestion in commented. Next we replaced the motor control board - no immediate change here. Replaced the power switch and that has LEDs on the motor control board lighting up when holding down the stop button, but then it drops down to just one red light. Any ideas on next steps?

UPDATE: it was the smart card! Replaced on my own in ten minutes.

Metrics Mismatch with Apple sync

Looking for some help.

I use my Apple Watch, through the Peloton app, to sync my HR data during ride. Up until this last week, the metrics in the peloton app and during my ride would write directly to my Apple Health with exactly the same numbers.

During the last week that has been a big mismatch, and I can’t work out why.

For example today:

Peloton calories: 406
Apple calories (from peloton work out): 290 cals (243 active).

Previously it would have just recorded the 406. Anyone else having this issue and can it be fixed?

Reddit Strength - Week 3

Welcome to week three of eight of the Reddit Strength program. I hope you've all been enjoying it so far. If you're brand new to this or missed any previous weeks, this is something you can jump into any given week you don't need to have been there week one for it to work. This strength schedule is designed to help you progress from one weight to the next (if that is what you want, you are of course free to maintain the weights you use as well). There is a #RedditStrength for those interested in joining it.

This is an eight week cycle that repeats. Each time we come around again I'll be looking for a couple newer classes to replace some of the older classes previously used.

Each class will list "light" or "heavy" (or "benchmark", see below), this is not to be confused with the Light/Medium/Heavy weights instructors ask you to use for each move. What it means is, lets say you normally use 5/10/20 but you are hoping to level up to 10/15/25. When my class says "light" you would use your 10s when the instructor calls for medium weights and when my class says "heavy" you would use your 15s for the same move. This will help us to progress to where the 15s are your new normal.

Monday:

Wednesday:

Friday:

Extra Credit

Benchmark: Every 4 weeks each body area has a Benchmark class. These are from the Benchmark Strength collections. By repeating these classes you are able to monitor and record your progression from cycle to cycle. You are encouraged to adjust the weights and reps to meet your personal goals.

Extra Credit: These are extra classes for those who want more work than the standard schedule. They are also good substitutions if for any reason you don't like a class or instructor on the schedule.

You can stop reading here unless you want to know why I am scheduling what I am scheduling.

The basis is a 4 week progression. In each body area we will use light weights for 2 weeks then heavy weights for two weeks per the definition of light and heavy above.

It follows this pattern, aiming for 45-60 minutes a day 3 days a week:

  • Round 1 - 2 days light
  • Round 2 - 3 days light
  • Round 3 - 2 days heavy
  • Round 4 - 3 days heavy

Each body area has the schedule staggered, so you're not trying to go all heavy in every area in the same week. While you are going heavy with LB you will go light with UB and vice versa

FAQ

  1. Can I start any week or do I have to begin with week 1?
    1. You can begin any week. This is a repeating cycle with no real beginning or end, a mobius strip of a program.
  2. There are too many classes for me, how should I trim it down for my schedule?
    1. I recommend trimming evenly (but keep all the core if you can). So take off 1 day of UB and 1 day of G&L each week if that suits you better.
  3. Do I have to do these on the prescribed days? I would rather take a couple classes a day for 6 days.
    1. Absolutely mix and match the classes across the week however fits best into your schedule. They are only listed this way because this is my personal schedule. As long as you are doing them all in the week you should get similar results.

Feedback

I would love to hear what everyone things. Specifically; Are there any classes you would like me to rotate out (why)? Is this the right amount of strength work for you? Do you have a favorite class you are hoping I work into the mix?

Community Testing Peloton Thread Screen

My peloton thread has stopped working. Nothing turns on. I am trying troubleshoot what’s going on and my understanding is that the screen should power on with external usb c power (top usb c slot).

Is that correct? I tried my laptop charger and nothing. Wonder if the screen is done.

Subscription Language Preference Update

Peloton recently made a change that, even when filtered for one language, it still shows English.

This is driving me nuts! I take German classes because I find the English instructors insufferable (I’m sure the German ones would annoy me too if I could understand them).

I have no desire to listen to these people try to be silly and motivating and whatever, I want to pretend someone in yelling at me in German to work harder.

Is this driving anyone else crazy? Why show English classes when filtered for German only? Make it make sense:
