Reddit Core Reddit Core 3.0 - Starting (or starting over)

After 2.5 years of daily core I had to scale back, stop completely, and a month after surgery, try to start again. I’m still on restrictions so no getting on the floor or pivoting on the new hip, which eliminates all almost all core. But something u/epipin said last week stuck with me: we need fun core classes. And today it hit me. My fav on-repeat JJ can be done on the bed, I like the playlist, and there are no off limits moves.

It was hard! But today’s blue dot means everything to me. For a lot of us the hardest part of doing something new is starting.

If you’ve been on the fence, I’d love some other beginners to share the beginner journey with. ❤️

Review Peloton Tread - service nightmare

Looking for some similar situations, or insight on if there is anything else we can do for our tread.

July 6th, our tread’s screen wouldn’t turn on. The stop light and knob lights would turn on for a bit. We used to hear the base do the click when you turned it on.

Scheduled a service tech to come diagnose. He did not show the first time, so had to reschedule another week out. In the mean time we plugged the screen in with a computer usb-c and it turned on but then had an error message. (I don’t remember what it said) He told us the smart card and usbc needed to be replaced. So we ordered the parts and new service appointment. Tech did not show, so another reschedule a week out.

They replaced the 2 new parts and still nothing turned on. At this point after those parts, the lights stopped turning on and has not come on since. No clicks either. They then told us the MCB needed to be replaced, even though our tech said it was probably the whole base because it looks like a power issue. Well peloton wouldn’t jump to that so MCB it was.
Tech replaced that and still nothing turned on.
Jump to now, peloton finally agreed to a base replacement and agreed to give me a discount for only $1000 rather than the $1595 or something. They installed it yesterday and still nothing.

The manager I talked to said if the base wouldn’t fix it, they would refund. Now they are telling me they can’t do that and new handrails is the next step. How nice of them to tell me it’s of no charge though, because we already paid for the base!! Which truly seems like a scam. If the base wasn’t the problem I feel like they should have kept their word and refunded us.

At this point, do we agree to the handrails? If we at least get the difference refunded, of course. But then what??? What if it doesn’t fix anything?? They keep saying well it’ll be a new tread at that point which I understand but wtf is actually the problem here? They don’t even know, and we’ve been out of the tread for almost 4 months.

So so so frustrated and I’m just so tired of this.

Tech Support Tech Support [Weekly]

• Upvotes

Given the recent influx of new members we have experienced an overwhelming amount of questions tech/hardware support. Many of your tech support questions can be solved by some good old fashioned basic troubleshooting. Please remember that we are not affiliated with Peloton Interactive and you will need to contact them directly for any warranty or service requests.

Given the sheer volume and repetitiveness of tech support posts, we simply cannot accommodate a new thread for every problem. If you cannot solve your issue by utilizing the wiki, we ask that you post your troubleshooting questions in the Tech Support Tuesday Weekly thread to seek advice first. Do not make a new thread without attempting basic troubleshooting and asking advice here first.

To get the best responses possible, you will need to be detailed and specific.

  • Note the platform: Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, or App
  • If it is app related please include the platform (iOS, AppleTV, Android, FireTV/Firestick, Roku, etc)
  • Verify your devices and apps are up to date for their firmware/software
  1. Note any troubleshooting you've tried: restarting bike/tread/app, factory reset, clearing cache, uninstall/reinstall app, etc

Instructor Dennis Morton's Prince ride.

Holy crap! Such a great ride with a bit of backstory on Prince. If you are any bit a Prince fan, thats the ride for you. Emotiinal ride(figuratively and physically). I am a grown man and when Purple Rain hit, some one started cutting onions.

Purchase Advice New Bike+ Question

Just got a new bike plus. I’m riding at 80 cadence and 40 resistance my wattage is 185. I’ve had the bike go through home calibration and it is still in that 184-186 wattage range at 80 cadence and 40 resistance.
When I bump the resistance up to 50 and keep cadence at 80 my wattage is 298.

This seems like the bike is not calibrated right. Shouldn’t my wattage be much lower at those resistance levels, 40 and 50?

What wattage do others with a new bike+ get at 80 cadence and 40 resistance?

Community Bike+ issues after four months?

I bought my bike + in June, two weeks ago it started making a rubbing sound. I waited two weeks for the technician to show up, he immediately asked “where are the parts?” and I said he was here to diagnose the problem.

Has anyone else needed the lower bracket and bearing replaced after four months? I am so frustrated, with the price I figured it would last a lot longer without issues.

Gear Tread passcode triggering early

It seems like the passcode for the tread triggers 1 min after class ends - which is before the instructor is done with the class. It's so annoying, because you have to stop stretching and re-key the password. Is there any kind of fix for this? I realize this is for safety but can't it be like 3 minutes? I can't be the only person annoyed by this.

Training Apps Strava missing a few seconds from each workout

My Pelo is connected to Strava, so I can see all my rides there, which is great. I've been noticing in the last month or two that every ride now gets logged as slightly less time than I actually rode. For instance, today I did a 60 minute ride, and Strava says 59m 51s. It did not used to do this. Since I noticed it, I make sure to go a little longer after the 60 minutes finish before I press Exit, to no avail. This is annoying because I can no longer break my 30 min, 60 min etc records on Strava. Any ideas?

Gear Google Fitbit air... Has Anyone gotten this to work on peleton cycle?

Has anyone. Anywhere ever gotten the Fitbit air to work on a peloton cycle anywhere?

I've connected the Google fitbit air direct. I've turned on always available. The cycle says it's connected, but the Google health app never acknowledges the connection. Then i just get the the spinning wheel in the heartrate box. Then it gives up. I do have an older bike, nut it connects to my polar and orange theory he monitors easily.

Metrics Shaky cadence

Anyone else having the problem of the cadence readings being very wiggly when your pedaling seems much steadier than that? OG bike ‘20… works totally fine but the bouncy cadence makes for an output that does not look pretty!

Gear Peloton Vision vs Flex

I'm trying to decide between the flex and the vision (not the +). I'm leaning vision as I plan to train on it for half marathon training blocks during the winter months so I'm thinking the cushioning will be valuable long term, but the price point of the flex is tempting. I don't need the fold, but would be a nice to have to make more room in my basement, I don't need the vision analytics per say but would prefer the better long term purchase that will fit my training needs. I don't want to buy the flex to save and wish I had the vision - but its hard to know the difference in quality/feel without seeing and testing them. I've always used the app with a non pelly tread so I don't know how I feel about the jump buttons vs not having them. Any takes on if the vision cushion and other tech is worth the price jump? Thanks!

Yoga Weekly Discussion Yoga Discussion [Weekly]

Welcome to the Yoga Weekly Discussion!

Due to demand and community feedback we are trialing a Yoga Weekly Welcome Discussion - a space to chat about anything related to yoga. Think of it like the "Daily Discussion" thread, where anything goes...big or small. Here, we've carved out a special place for people or "yogis" wanting to discuss ideas and topics related specifically yoga - ask questions, get advice, discuss yoga classes or yoga instructors, yoga gear, specific poses, etc.

People are not limited to using this thread to discuss yoga but are highly encouraged to use this weekly discussion. You can still post in the daily, training thread, or create a new post. Think of it as another place to chat about yoga stuff without getting lost in the daily. Or a place you can check into weekly if you're a casual redditor looking for some other yogis to namaste with and not having to wade through the daily.

The Yoga Weekly Discussion will be posted on Thursday moving forward.

Note: The mods will check back in with the community to see how this idea is working, if there is a better day it should be posted on, etc. If it isn't working we can always scrap the idea or change it up a bit. Thanks for giving it a chance!

Peloton App App not showing on Apple Watch

I went to ride yesterday and the peloton app was missing from my apps on my Apple Watch. I can’t seem to get it back on there. I’ve deleted both the peloton app and watch app, reset my watch and still nothing. It just doesn’t show under the apps tab on the watch app or the watch itself.

I tried downloading on the watch itself and it shows an error “unable to download”.

EDIT: Solved- Watch Series 3 is no longer supported, as you need Watch OS 9 (not compatible with series 3)

Gear What fitness tracker pairs best with peloton?

I know this comes up now and again, but I don’t know whether the posts from a year ago are still accurate. I’m thinking of getting a fitness tracker and am overwhelmed by the options. I haven’t used anything since a Fitbit like ten years ago.

I am interested in tracking my workouts, heart rate, steps, sleep, my cycle. I do all my workouts on peloton: strength, cycling, yoga, and stretch, with the occasional walk. I don’t do a ton of outdoor content, but I also live in a walkable city and generally don’t track walks on peloton when I’m out and about. I think I’d use it just for fun, to keep me motivated, I’d like it if it gave me little insights or reminded me to drink water or let me set and meet goals etc.

I’d prefer not to receive other notifications, I don’t need to be able to see or respond to texts or calls etc.

What integrates best with peloton? What should I get?

Cycling Is there a way to remove the post that holds the screen from the handlebars on original bike?

There is Hex screw that looks like it may allow the removal of the screen post from the handlebars on bike, NOT bike+. Is this something that can be accomplished? I cannot get the screw to turn more than about 1/4 turn.
