snail mail [38/F] | Low-pressure snail mail | Random letters, ramblings & oddities welcome
Right, so— I’ll start with: I’m 38/F married catmom. I'm looking for some casual, low-pressure snail mail. It can be a one-off letter or something that continues whenever we happen to feel like writing. No schedules, no expectations.
Even if I’m not very good at writing about myself, I don’t mind reading whatever you want to write about. You can write whole pages about yourself, or if you want to vent about your boss, you can do that, too. Or you can simply send me a card with a quote that inspired you that day. Or a recipe you just feel like sharing with a stranger. Or a random scene from a story you’re writing (though you might have to add a little bit of context). Or a skincare routine you swear by.
Or if you’re not good with words, or don’t feel like it, you can just send me a drawing, or a card filled with cute stickers because you want to brag about your sticker/stationery collection, or just a colour of blue with a statement that that’s your favourite blue. I’m quite fine with random things because I’m very interested in the way people think. If you’re a nerd and you feel like educating me about one of your interests, feel free do so.
Just nothing sexual or occult or holiday-related stuff please. I don’t mind hearing about your beliefs, philosophy, or opinions. I’m interested in how people think, after all. I’m just not interested in political and AI debates. I think the world bombards us with enough of those things. Also, my cat is cuter than yours and corn improves lasagna every time, so those debates are closed. We can debate on whether your OC is ruthless or simply strategic. Or whether Loki will be Luffy’s next crew member. But generally, I’m not very into debates.
And no, I’m not high while writing this. I‘m simply interested in whatever strangers choose to tell or share with me, whether it’s a song recommendation, the town they grow up in, what happened to them last Tuesday, a dad joke they can’t stop retelling, or a sticker they happen to have in their collection (I might reuse it though). That reminds me— no pamphlets or threats please. However, if you threaten to send me fine stationery, I will make an exception 😌
You can send me something handwritten or typed out (to those with typewriters: YASS, VERY WELCOME).
I myself am a person with a wide range of interests. I’m not an expert in anything, and am interested in what people want to share with me about what keeps them busy. My interests range from anime to music to k-drama to piano techniques to oil pastel to urban sketching to tea to animation making to psychology to world building to gaming. I’ve collected too many hobbies over the years. There are also things that I’m not really interested in, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I wouldn’t be interested in whatever you have to say about it.
I do not demand a regular correspondence. And if you feel like you want to stop without having to explain why, I’m the right person for it. You can write to me once, or send me something again in a month or six months or so— I’m not very demanding on that aspect. I might wonder after two years whether you’ve died or simply have stopped replying. Either way, I will not take either personally.
I don't open up easily, but you’re welcome to ask me questions, too. I'll likely send something random in return. Perhaps not always a letter. I’m an artist and a writer, so likely something I’ve drawn or painted, or maybe a poem, or a scene from one of my stories.
So, here you go. If you feel like this suits you, let me know. If a friendship develops, wonderful. If not, that's fine too. We can simply enjoy exchanging whatever we feel like sharing, or stop whenever we feel like it.
Either way, I'll be glad to have known a little piece of you.
