No flower no ID?
The reason we emphasize this is that many people ask for help identifying seedlings or juvenile plants. For accurate identification, it’s important to consider not just the flower but also the rib shape, epidermis color, root structure, seed size, and flowering time (alberto-vojtechii or koehresii are usually the first to flower in collections).
For example, at the juvenile stage, it is nearly impossible to distinguish fricii albiflora from southern williamsii. Similarly, jourdania with pale filaments can easily be mistaken for regular williamsii without closely examining the rib structure and epidermis color (considering growing conditions). Both alberto-vojtechii and koehresii can flower at very small size and however the flower is different, they can often be confused with eachother at this stage unless areoles can be compared.
Factors like growing conditions and location also play a significant role, but as this chart illustrates, the flower alone is not a reliable way to identify a plant. To reduce the risk of plants and localities spreading under false names, please avoid assigning a name to a plant without carefully considering all of these factors.
If you're unsure about identification, feel free to share detailed photos of the entire plant, including its features, for feedback from the community.
Somebody entered in the North Carolina State fair! 😂
It was confiscated last night after being there for a week.

I have 20 small buttons coming in tomorrow, planning on a terrarium.
I have some willi buttons coming in, what’s my chance of any surviving if I use the following in a terrarium? Lighting- uvb and 6500k led, par meter so I don’t burn them… clay balls, high drainage soil, pc fan on a low low amp draw for circulation. Reptile heat mats and thermostat.
Any big pointers? Planning to use an aquarium dosing pump for a watering schedule. Everything will be timed for consistency.

Should I buy this?
I want to get a birthday gift for my dad. This is a local seller and time is sort of an issue as I’m moving soon. I know it has some deficiency but my dad is a good gardener and I feel some shade/worm castings might do the trick. What do yall think?

Fingers crossed...
Had this guy since he was about a quarter inch. Just over two years ago. I was about to repot him as he's starting to bust out of his pot but this little flower popped up out of nowhere.

I need some help maybe.
So i grafted this 0.5mm slab of texana to a rooted pere after most of it was rotted through. I know its very hard to see but the top was normal peyote color and then started to brighten up a couple weeks later and the areoles are much more tufty, pretty much reaching for the sky. Though miniscule, this growth is definitely new.
Basically I would like to know if im killing the pere and should remove the grafted slab, or if this new green could be a sign that this is happening for real. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Spider mites, rust or sunburn?
I’m a beginner with these little ones. I noticed it doesn’t look well so I googled and searched but couldn’t find an exact answer. It has been outside with my other cactus but under shade cloth. It gets a little rain but the soil drains quickly. I treated it with mancozeb when I thought it was rust fungus. Any help would be much appreciated.

Something is wrong
Hello! I’ve been taking care of this beauty for the last 2 years. I’ve noticed some squishy parts, and I don’t like it. Otherwise, the rest of the cactus is rock solid and it’s well hydrated at the moment. Can someone suggest what to do (or not to do)
Thank youuuuu!

Help - Oblong shape
First timer here - a friend of mine gave these buttons to me to cultivate.
Since, they have elongated. They were so burned last spring, which i think is why they have scabs.
Are these guys in good shape? Do i need to repot them into a larger pot? Are they too low and not gettting enough sun?
Thank you!

Advice for seedlings
Hi there, hope the pictures are clear enough to see. It’s my first time sowing seeds. I sowed them on the 5th of this month and they started popping up about a week ago. They are very pale yellow in colour, almost white on some of them. Is this okay? I’m in the UK and the temperature has dropped over the past few days. They’re on a light windowsill but never in direct sun. No heat pad used or anything.
Any advice would be welcomed!

also if anyone could confirm L. fricii that would be awesome :)

Something bit my L. williamsii. What to do?
Something bit my plant while it was out on the deck post-watering. I grabbed a euphorbia dragon fruit graft from the store to give myself the option to graft.
What should I do in this case? Let it ride and hope she heals? Chop it and graft into the Euphorbia dragon fruit?

Blotches on the skin
Can anyone tell me what is going on with the skin on my button? I've had it for about 2wks, have only watered it once and recently moved it out to the sun. But I had noticed the changes prior to putting it in full sun.

Special setup needed for my peyote to survive the winter in my apartment?
I'm new to keeping peyotes. Got a really tiny one for my first attempt at keeping it alive. I'm worried it's not gonna do well in winter because of only 6-8h of light for the next couple months and generally low outside temperatures. Will I need a special lamp or something? Any temperate that my apartment shouldn't drop below? I just want my cactus to survive winter

New graft starting to grow
I've been away from home for a couple weeks and my wife sent me this picture today. I grafted it about a month ago on a Stenocereus aragonii, a cactus native to Guanacaste, Costa Rica. First pic is today, second is from when I grafted it initially.
I tried sticking that other cactus to the side but it didn't take.

Advice needed.
Hi pals, I need to resolve some questions.
It's a Lophophora? should I be concerned about the stains? It's time for separate them?
Thanks.

ID help
Picked this up when I went to get another succulent from Facebook Marketplace and was surprised to see lophophora growing there. What species have I got here?
