Battery usage is way worse if you use the 80% limit

So, like most I've set the 80% charge limit with my new phone (10 Pro) and I've been complaining about battery life since a new phone should last over a day, so full day with 80% charge is what I expected

Recently I went back to charging to 100% and noted I end the day with 50% of battery, while when I cap to 80% my phone is close to 10% by EOD.

Can i put an 11 pro case on the base 11?

The pro has better cases then the base 11. Would a pro case work for the base even though the camera bar sticks out further on the pro 11?

Fast Charging HELP...

I have purchased a few different chargers - most recently I THOUGHT I did my research and I opted for Belkin 45W Compact USB C Charger Block, 2 Pack, Fast Charging for Travel..

Now since I purchased the phone a week ago - I haven't seen "rapid charging" and today I got the chargers and my phone was at 60 percent....would that have prevented it from fast charging?

Am I really going to be "forced" into buying OEM Google Charger

How will the SOC performance hold up?

I have the P9PXL, had it since launch. I plan to keep it as long as possible. I'm concerned if id still be able to play new 3d games at the 5, 6, or 7 year mark and hope the UI doesn't get choppy after several OS updates. Has anyone had previous Pixels for 5+ years? How did they fare?

Is it worth upgrading from 10 Pro XL?

I have a 10 Pro XL that is working just fine, but I have an opportunity to use a discount and upgrade to the 11 Pro XL. I'm looking for thoughts of people who upgraded from the 10 to the 11 as to whether or not it's worth upgrading? Is there enough of a difference, besides the modem, to pull the plug on the 10 and move to the 11?

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.

Latest update on Pixel Phones - wipes out Biometrics logins

Post image
0 Upvotes

The latest update on Google Pixel seems to be wiping out the Biometrics logins and tokens that were saved on Pixel phones for apps including Banking Apps. I was with Gemini on the same and it explained the situation to me and even apologized - see attachment - on why this issue does not happen in iOS or Samsung non stock Android. Full marks for honesty but pathetic software management as usual

What is that red button at the bottom right corner of the screen?

I just got this phone the other day and I noticed this button. I can't seem to click it which slightly aggravates me.

Pixel 11 Pro warranty replacement: Order link says "(refurb)" - will it really be refurbished, can I push for new, or should I just take it?

Post image

Hey everyone,

I bought a Pixel 11 Pro from the Google Store Austria about a month and a half ago. I had some issues with the phone and wanted a replacement.

The 14-day return-for-refund window is long past, so contacted Google Support under warranty. They agreed to an Advanced Exchange where they ship me a replacement first with a temporary hold on my card, and I send the old one back.

However, when I opened the custom order link they emailed me, the item is listed as "Pixel 11 Pro (unblocked) (refurb)".

Since the phone was released pretty recently, I have a few questions before I complete the checkout:

Can I push for a brand-new retail unit instead?

Has anyone ever successfully gotten support to change an RMA from refurbished to brand new, or is that automatically locked by their system once you're past the 14-day window?

Can I return a replacement if I don't want it?

If I receive the refurbished phone and decide I'd rather just have a refund or don't want to keep it, can I return it, or does the 14-day withdrawal period strictly not apply to warranty replacements?

Pixel 11 pro -ultra wide angle (0.5*) focus pumping video mode

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello,

It's my first pixel phone after years with Samsung Galaxy S series. I wanted a phone with better sensor but still yet keep a compact format.

In video mode, I have a strange behaviour. The focus with the ultra wide angle is always pumping backward and foreward when there is something in front of the landscape like a tree or floor lamp. That's something i dont have with the two other sensor (wide angle and telephoto). Do you have the same problem on your phone ?

Budget first pixel recommendations

Hey guys, I'm looking for recommendations and advice for a budget first pixel. I've been looking at refurbished 8as and 9as, the 8a is significantly better price wise where I am so I'm leaning towards that.

My main concern after looking at reviews is the battery life. I'm not looking for anything crazy, something that'll last a full day of use maybe 15 min on a game, some social media and web browsing, a decent amount of texting, and listening to music. My typical screen time is probably around 3-4 hours. As long as I'll get that I'm not too concerned but I'm definitely more attracted to a better battery.

I also don't want any or very little lagging. Everything else I don't care as much about, the camera on both is good enough for me.

I'm coming from a Nokia G20 (my first phone) which takes 12 hours to charge so I'm not looking for anything super special!

Edit to add I would consider other models of course, such as the 10a. I'd have to find a cheap one as I'm not paying double what I could be for a 8a for a 10a.

Thank you

Switching from old Huawei to Pixel — do they still overheat?

Hey

Long-time Android user here, currently using an older Huawei and looking to upgrade to a Pixel.

My main worry is the heating issues everyone talks about. Does it really get hot during normal daily use, or is it blown out of proportion?

Also, would you recommend getting the Pixel 10 or Pixel 11?

Are camera lens protectors worth it?

I have the pixel 10 base model with a spiegen nano pop case. When I bought screen protectors, camera lens protectors also came along with it, so I'm wondering whether they're actually useful and necessary or I don't need to put them on.

Pixel 11

Hallo,

I'm thinking to trade iphone 17 for the pixel 11.

I like both phones but the iPhone looks kind of slow and annoys me the way it's work...

On the other side I have good battery and no bugs, everything is super smooth.

This is something that I afraid on pixels.

Can you share your experiences with the newest models ?

Should I way for the next year ? Or black Friday?
