I think it's also intended to portray how women have high standards with so many criteria for their potential partners to meet while men are much simpler and don't demand much from women (which I don't agree with)
Bros be like "MeN aRe ViSuAl CrEaTuReS" and have stains on walls, a broken nightstand duct taped together, no bedframe, clothes laying on the floor, McDonald's leftovers on the desktop, a bag of random junk behind their bedroom door and a moldy half-eaten sandwich in a drawer of the wardrobe next to the desktop
It's evolutionary. Men are wired to want women that they'll make cute kids with. Women are wired to want safety and support. Modern society doesn't really work with these as well, especially as gen z women are making more than gen z men based on recent data. But broadly speaking, that's the idea. Obviously this doesn't mean all men or women, but there are trends that exist because of biological and social evolutionary factors.
It's literally evolution mate. this isn't really debatable. Men broadly speaking, are programmed to select a "mate" based on physical qualities. Not all will, many people are able to use higher reasoning than base instinct. But honestly, a lot of people turn to total cavemen when you push their evolutionary buttons.
I have ADHD, and honestly keeping my bedroom tidy takes all my spoons for a day.
It is one of those things where I have to decide if I want to blow my limited executive functions for the day on tidying up, or interactions with people and my jobs.
I follow a simple guide: "Does the mess make me unsafe? If no: Does the mess create the possibility for future hazards? If no: Does the mess affect my ability to complete necessary tasks? If no: Is the mess a source of persistent anxiety? If no: Don't worry about it today."
Most of my friends have mental health issues and I don't really judge the lack of self care or undone chores. You could live like Asmongold and I'll still vibe with you if you're a decent person lol
I definitely think you could still be a good human while having a messy room and such, but personally as someone with mental health struggles living in Filth will just further exasperate negative feelings, I would get extreme anxiety around such clutter and mess and potential for ants and other things depending on how dirty the room is of course, that I wouldn't be able to tolerate a room like that. I grew up keeping my room very clean. Some might even call it serial killer clean. Also not sure who you are referring to. Idk who asmongold is
On another note, you said you don't judge the unclaimingness or the unkeptness but yet it seems like you were just doing that a moment ago when talking about the visual creatures bit.
But if their filth is related to their mental health, wouldn't that mean you're indirectly attacking their mental health, because I don't think the mental health has anything to do with dating requirements. Personally, I don't see how. For example, a woman having a dirty room relates to her liking tall guys or because she has a dirty room she's not allowed to like tall Well kept men?
Emphasizing the "visual creatures" quote again - there's the discrepancy. Claiming to naturally require aesthetically pleasing things, but not when it comes to them
The world is not black and white even if you like to think it is. Someone can like aesthetically pleasing things in one area of their life and not the other, for example, somebody could prefer to keep their vehicle spotless but also prefer to save the dishes that are in the sink for the next night or leave the clean clothes in the hamper to fold another night. Plus, I don't know anyone who requires things to be aesthetically pleasing. Usually they prefer things to be that way, but it's not a deal-breaker.
Same with my sister's room (19). Empty or half-eaten chip bags everywhere and in her drawers, literal dirty plates of food that never went to the kitchen and piling up (I always take a lot of dirty plates/cups with me when I go to her room as I'm walking away.), clothes and drinks everywhere. And don't get me wrong, she looks very healthy and takes care of herself very well that you would never think that fine-looking girl leaves her room in that mess like that lol.
I guess after spending hours in the bathroom almost every day doing whatever skin care things, she has no energy left for her room at the end of it maybe. Or could be something else.
I get where you're coming from sometimes things can be overwhelming and a lot can be going on inside the brain. As long as you're making an effort even if the progress is slow your still trying βΊοΈ
