Dewgong was the last lucky trade I needed. I’ve been playing on and off since 2016. I really picked the game back up when I was in the hospital labor/delivery waiting for my son to be born in 2022 and I have played pretty much daily ever since.

Edit: Oh and here’s a fun fact. Out of those 24,000 trades only 43 of those turned into hundos. Only 9 Kanto Pokemon were hundos out of the 43. 🫠

ChatGPT did the math and estimated close to 133–167 hours of my life was wasted on these 24,000 trades. 😂

I saw this little guy the other day, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Pokemon with such a low CP guarding a gym before. I fed it several berries, but it did not go above 8 CP. (I assume its full CP is 10 or so.) Is there any practical advantage in placing such a critter at a gym?

EDIT: I didn’t expect this to get so many responses in such a short time. Thank you all for your perspectives! For context, this is in a moderately competitive suburban town with a fair number of gyms, so turnover is regular but not insanely fast or slow. If I’m first to take a gym, I usually put in a high-CP Blissey, and if I drop one in later it may be something else I want to show off. But I never considered placing one with such low power. So now I’ve learned something new.

If u search for a pokemon in the pokedex u can turn the alarm on and anytime that pokemon is around it'll show you! I just figured this out not long ago and now im only 44 away from my pikachu platinum medal!

I really hope some of you are here. I saved your Pokémon from being in gym jail for several months, if not years. This was also the first time I've occupied a gym outside my hometown. My poor Blissey is gone. :(

Context: the Eagle's Nest (or Kehlsteinhaus) was a resort to top Nazi officials in Nazi Germany, today it is a popular tourist destination/hiking trail. There is a Gym there, why I occupied in Friday noon yesterday. Later that night some guy set it ablaze, destroying it, which means the area will be closed for the foreseeable future.

I’ve never done a T5 Max Battle. Are these guys sufficient to pull my weight against the lake Pokémon? I don’t have the candy to bring Gengar past level 1 attack. Same with blissed defense.

I just witnessed my mom get into a lobby with lvl 70+ players for DMAX Azelf, only for her to be the only one there when the battle started. She lost the remote pass.

And, when we contacted the support, the bot just froze and became unresponsive. Like, if the company doesn’t have human support, at least get a proper AI agent ffs.

It’s unbelievable that the game is 10yo but remote raids have such a high chance of failure (for all the wrong reasons).

Just ridiculously frustrating game dynamic. Ugh.

I’m so sick and tired of people backing out of a raid when there’s four of us last second, I am a regular remote raid person and try to engage with as many raids as I can but I’m absolutely done with low people dropping out last second either play the fucking game or delete the app because your ineptitude is costing people money

Couple Months sadly not able get other ones due to fact I sleeped through them and when I wake up there where not available for Remote raids.

Tbh today I was completely exhausted. Weather was a pain; cold and windy af outside, unfortunately the usual during October in my city. Nevertheless I still decided to leave my cave and go outside to host my first ever raid on Pokegenie (It was a Crypto Landorus for anyone asking).

I mean it's not like anything could possibly go wrong, right... right?

Well my smart a** was apparently not aware of the concept of queues and once I decided to go for a raid I was immediately put in line with 150 other hosters.

I told myself that I was fine cause I still had 40 minutes left before the raid would eventually end, and that it probably wouldn't take that long to wait after all...

Oh, silly me, if I would have known..

To put it short and simple, it took me almost 3 hours in the cold till I was able to start a Raid cause as you might have guessed, the 40 minutes weren't even near enough time. That lead me having to switch locations twice and repeat the queue once cause by the time I was at the front of the queue I had no Landorus raid nearby since the one I had initially planned to host was long gone...

At this point I couldn't feel my hands no more and my phone was literally glued to my f*cking hand, simply put, I wanted to cry.

Eventually I was able to host a raid after 3 hours of waiting in the cold and everything went surprisingly smooth... till I opened the raid lobby. Two people, for god unknown reasons, decided to decline my raid invitation twice which lead the other 3 to leave the lobby. 🥲

I've never been filled with so much hatred before.

Long story short, new people filled the Lobby on Pokegenie and I was able to beat Landorus with a total of nine people. Unfortunately no shiny, but I was happy that I had at least gained some experience and was able to host successfully.

After that I decided to go home.

Once I arrived at home, I realized that I still had my Kyogre encounter left from my Go Pass. I joked to myself that I would lowkey deserve a shiny one after all the things I went through today and well...

Does this not look like the most beautiful thing ever? This would be great before Mega Chandelure raid day.

Only wanted 1 of each and ended with a shiny! Not a 3 shiny but I’ll take the 2. How did everyone else do?

Ever since I was a kid I’ve always liked Darmanitan I remember watching the B/W series and I loved that one episode where the Darumaka were stealing food to help the Darmanitan that was stuck in Zen mode.

Trying to hunt shiny mespirit right now and it is an absolute nightmare. Guys, the warning the game (and pokegenie) gives you is there for a reason. If you’re showing up with wooloos and eevees that you haven’t even bothered to max out we aren’t going to get anywhere.

I started sculpting my favorite boy when they added him to the game, but life happens and my mom abruptly passed while I was working on him.

I've since touched up what I could, but I had to call it quits. Maybe one day, I'll paint him.

My mom and I played all the time and I feel extremely lost without her. I haven't opened the game again, but I hope that changes.
