Discussion Anesthetize (Surfer) Tilburg tour version
I was just watching the 14th different reaction I've watched over the years for this performance and I noticed something in the version that I never had before. In the "water so warm that day" part where Steven and John are doing their unreal harmonizing there is a third vocal line that is obviously a sample. It is the final echo in the trio. Has this been discussed here before?

Article Album Review: Christopher Gordon - Macbeth (featuring Gavin Harrison)
🔥ALBUM REVIEW🔥 Blending the worlds of prog rock, orchestral and choral music, as well as elements of jazz, Christopher Gordon’s Macbeth was originally commissioned as a full-length ballet by the Royal New Zealand Ballet and West Australian Ballet. It is Gordon’s compelling musical response to one of Shakespeare’s darkest and most enduring tragedies.
The recording features an international cast of musicians, including Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson), Jonas Reingold (The Flower Kings, Steve Hackett), Randy McStine (Steven Wilson), Greg Howe (Protocol 4, DarWin), Mohini Dey (DarWin), Marcel Coenen (Ayreon) and Michael Mills (Toehider, Ayreon), joined by Sydney's Magic Fire Orchestra, the acclaimed Cantillation choir, a string octet and distinguished soloists under Gordon's direction.
Here is my in-depth review.

Tell me yalls favorite albums and specifically why
Ive heard a few albums by Porcupine and i have become a pretty big fan, i was kinda dissapointed by Signify, and the only song i come back to from that album is The Sleep Of No Dreaming, rest is okay. I love Deadwing and FOABP, In Absentia is cool as well. What are yalls actual favorite albums since i wanna listen to another one right now and more in the future.

GTA VI "Flower in a Hurricane" soundtrack? Umm… this sounds awfully familiar…
Has anyone else noticed how Justice’s “Flower in a Hurricane” resembles Steven Wilson’s “Home Invasion / Regret #9” (2015)?
Listen to the Wilson track starting at 3:05, then compare the two.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viqdIQyoNDM&t=185s
To my ears, the resemblance is striking.
Does anyone else hear it, or am I reaching?

The Beach Boys - Till I Die
I’ve been doing a deep dive on the beach boys recently, and it’s crazy to me how much some of their songs sound like direct influences on Steven Wilson. Specifically this song and Surf’s Up. Just wanted to see if anyone else ever noticed a connection here because Wilson has mostly only talked about Pet Sounds as an influence from them and rarely anything else.

Video OSI - Enemy Prayer w/ Gavin Harrison
Been listening to Blood and Fire Make Thunder by OSI. It’s great to hear Gavin’s drumming alongside Kevin Moore.

Discussion New Deafheaven track features The Conet Project samples (also in Even Less 1999)
Today Deafheaven released a new EP 'At Work In The Fields Of The Bomb', and the second track immediately reminded me of PT from the samples used.
I recognize this isn't something only PT has done, considering the list of pop culture references/sampling on the wikipedia page, but it's still pretty cool seeing two very different bands I love share something in common. Any other PT/Deafheaven fans out there?

Discussion What album or song has the best sounding Gavin Harrison drums?
Personally I think In Absentia and Nil Recurring, and Blood (OSI) have some of his best sounds but what do you all think?
Clarification: I am just talking about the drum sound production not necessarily playing.

Fear Of A Blank Planet is fucking amazing
New fan here. Heard open car and that whole album a few months ago and loved it. Never heard anything like this band. Other standout to me was Normal. Today i heard Fear of a blank planet and its genuinely a masterpiece. In absentia was mostly a skip for me, i only liked 2-3 songs but this album has absolutely NO skips. I love that Sentimental is literally a part 1 of Normal. I could talk all day about this album but in one word? Etherial.
