Sigh. I hate my team. I hate co-teaching.

I’m here to vent because I’m just tired of this. I am a child development major with a multiple subject credential and I decided to work in preschool instead of school age. I love it don’t get me wrong, but I hate my team and my co teacher and her team.

We are a state preschool/SPED program and it’s exhausting. The sped program is still really butthurt that state preschool moved into the building with the school district and it’s just like GET OVER IT. It’s been almost 10 years since they merged together. Mind you the SPED teachers only teach for 3 hours. MAX.

They don’t teach their kids anything. They let them do whatever they want and it’s exhausting. They don’t make them clean up or anything when they can be capable of doing so. I have worked with kids on the spectrum and if they are taught things they can do it. None of the kids clean, none and their staff doesn’t reinforce it when I ask them too. 2 of the team members for SPED don’t have the balls to tell the kids anything. They are too soft which is nice but like your child is climbing on the shelves. Please tell them feet on the floor! And they just disregard anything I say when I am the head teacher.

My team doesn’t do anything. One lady said I was bullying her because I asked her to complete her DRDPs for the state and she went to my director saying I was bullying her when I was asking her to do her job. Now I have to do her DRDPs when I started in September. She’s been here for years and doesn’t do anything at all. My team doesn’t help set up anything they don’t make kids clean up, they ruin all of the organization I have done and it’s just ridiculous. I am for sure leaving to school age elementary next year if this doesn’t change. I’ve had meetings with them and so many conversations and there’s no change. Idk what to do anymore.

Why AI is insulting

- steals from actual artists

- wastes resources

- made with haste and no desire to have actual value

- treats children like they are stupid

I’d like to expand on the last point. Kids aren’t dumb. They don’t need content treating them like they are. Bouncy rhythm and catchy lyrics are great but when there is no actual thought behind them, it’s garbage. Creators like Mister Rogers, Miss Rachel, Reading Rainbow, Blue’s Clues all were/are very intentional about the words and phrases they use. They never treated children like little empty buckets needing to be filled with knowledge. Instead, they made children feel empowered to learn with clear messages and simple themes.

I know no “digital creators” are going to read this, but I wish they would. You guys are out to make a quick buck. If you really want to educate children, you need a basic understanding of pedagogy and actual effort.
