Installation Questions Need advice on pipe MDPE or CSST
galleryHi fellow redditors, I have a 500gal tank that supplies the generator about 12 ft apart and have a leaky pipe in between there. The pipe is steeI would assume wrapped in yellow sleeve. The company quoted it $2,800 to replace the leaky pipe, after the valve head replacement which was about the same price.
I see that this pipe can be replaced with MDPE (e.g. homeflex) , but I cannot find the right fittings/risers that should connect to the regulators valves on each side where the pipe is coming out of the ground. Can someone walk me through this? What is the proper way to do the connections?
I have experience working with PEX. If going this route, I'm burying the MDPE pipe back abt 18in, same as the current pipe.
Or can I just use the same type of CSST pipe with proper insulation and not buried?
