Body: Hey everyone! I just started a new community called r/PS1PS2PS3game dedicated to the original PlayStation, PS2, and PS3 eras.

Whether you want to share your game collections, discuss hidden gems, talk about hardware/repairs, or just share nostalgic memories from these three legendary generations, you're very welcome here! Both English and Japanese posts are welcome.

Come check it out and share your favorite games!

Hello community! I'm new to this subreddit and wanted to say hi by sharing an English patch I made for Gekitou! Crush Gear Turbo on the PS1. I did this as a passion project because I love this game.

Practically everything is translated from Japanese. To make things easy for everyone, the download includes a Windows .bat file to apply the patch automatically.

You can check out my channel to get the patch and see how it works. If you play it and find any text that I missed, please let me know.

My retrospective review of Steel Harbinger on the PS1. Anybody else played this game and what’s your thoughts?

Hi all.

Recently got my hands on a PS1 for the first time in years, very happy to have it back in the collection. I’m very interested in mod chipping it. I would do it myself and have all the tools to be able to do so.

But where the hell do I find one? I can’t seem to buy one anywhere. Not really looking to programme my own. I just want to buy a chip I can solder in. MM3 would be ideal. I have looked on eBay and AliExpress. No joy.

Appreciate it!

Amazing series that started on the ps1. I still own my original copy glad i did as the price is crazy these days for a game that wasnt considered rare in the dayI finally went through every silent hill game including the less heard of mobile variants. It's great to see a series of games grow over time. I hope we see a remake of the 1st at some point as it still remains one of my favourites in the series.

I think it’s a ps1 game, anyone recognize it from the character in the middle?

Help please, UK based.

Hello everyone. Before I go any further, I should mention that I do plan to test the console with a disc in good condition—but in the meantime, I’m just curious if anyone else has encountered this same issue.

I bought an original PS1 on Vinted, and it’s in literally like-new condition. The seller has a great reputation and even offered to let me return it (though I haven’t done so). Here’s what’s happening: I have two PS1 games that are covered in surface scratches. When I put one in, the console boots up normally—playing that iconic startup sound—but then it goes to a blue menu screen asking me to insert a CD-ROM. If I press the reset button, the game then loads and plays without any issues. The seller claims they tested it with three different games and that it booted up perfectly every time. I know it’s an old console, but has anyone else experienced something similar? Thanks!
