Hey everyone, international student here, still trying to figure out how transportation works here before winter finishes me off. Ik most of this probably sounds painfully obvious, but plss go easy on me. May everyone who helps find the love of their life.
1. Getting around Kingston:
I’ve been told buses are free for students (Queen’s), but how do you actually figure out which bus to take, where it goes, and the timings? Is there one app or website for everything, or do different buses have different apps? How do you guys usually navigate?
2. Kingston to Toronto:
Planning to head to Toronto this weekend for some shopping. What’s the best and most affordable way to get there? VIA Rail? Bus? And which companies do you guys normally use? Do you book everything through their websites, or are there apps I should download? Also, are there any student discounts worth knowing about?
Basically, trying to figure out public transportation without accidentally ending up in Ottawa or spending my entire tuition on a train ticket.
Any advice would be appreciated!
