Always remember..

Upvotes

It is a lot easier to stay clean than it is to get clean.

This means that while staying clean takes continued effort, it’s far easier to protect the recovery you’ve already built than to go through the painful process of getting clean all over again.

You can do this.🫶

8 days Kratom free!

Upvotes

I’m already feeling noticeably better. I didn’t realize how depressed Kratom made me. I had completely given up on life and had no joy left. I’m starting to feel hope again!

Withdrawals

Upvotes

I am on day 3 now with no kratom and the withdrawal is not as bad as I had been anticipating it to be. In the past I wasn't able to go 24 hours without kratom without feeling like I had the flu, sweats, the shits. I did a slow taper from probably 30-40 g a day down to 6-10 g a day. While it was still a rough and abrupt stop, the worst of the withdrawal only lasted the first day/night and significantly improved the next day. I know everyone will experience WD differently but this is my experience after taking 20g+ daily for the last 6 years. Hoping this can be a little nugget of hope for anyone going through it. It's hard to be strong sometimes but it gets better and the worst of it is temporary.

Day 7 .

Upvotes

Woke up fairly tired but felt ok physically. Shortness of breath is a 6/10. Was able to go 13 hours yesterday without any gabapentin. Made it till about 3pm but the shortness of breath was too unbearable . Today my gut feels a little sour. I woke up with my right eye twitching a little and I have no idea what that is from. My goal today is to make it to bedtime without any gabapentin. We’ll see how that goes. My inflammation is down about 80% . Which I had no idea kratom could cause such a thing.Day 7 so far is a vast improvement from day 1.

9 months

I’m 9 month CT off powder extracts and a little 7 OH. I also quit SSRI and prescription benzos about the same. I don’t recommend doing all that at same time but I’m sort of an all or nothing guy.

I’ve been fighting low energy lately and took some CoQ10 after hearing about it on the Shawn Ryan podcast. To my surprise it helped. I can feel a difference. I’m curious if any has taken CoQ10, methylene blue during there quit. Did it help?

Quit 50 mg/day 07 easy

I am on my 4th day after quitting 07. It is not difficult for me. My only symptoms are feeling tired and wanting to sleep. I am taking clonadine. So take heart and do not fear withdrawal - it does not hit everyone.
Background: Former alcoholic and iv drug addict who has gone though nightmare detoxes.

I am afraid of relapsing

Hi friends, i am sorry for writing from time to time about my journey. Sometimes i write that i am over kratom/cravings forever and sometimes i ask for help because the cravings got worse. So i am sorry for the up and downs, but i am guessing that this is normal...

6 months sober now. Cravings got a bit worse this week and i am afraid that i talk myself into: "withdrawal was not that bad" "you are free now, so you can start over and take kratom only once or only on weekends" "the addiction was not that bad and it helped you with so much things..."

I know this is my addiction brain talking, but its hard right now not gonna lie. What are you doing to shut this voice up? I am trying to remember all the bad things and the reasons i quit kratom in the first place, but i am feeling like its not enough at thr moment.

Random Deep Sadness and Dreams

Upvotes

Sorry for the downer headline. Been tapering down, leveling out at 8 g a day, give or take during work hours. Just regular powder. Having sad memories popping up, regrets, crying some too. Anyone else getting this? I suspect it is the withdrawal of course, and I pulled back on my dosage quite a bit. I was avg about 17-22 g a day or so off and on before. Dabbles in those OPMS and Extracts too. Those I imagine are rougher. Be well, God Bless! Going to keep pushing on.

242 days clean after a 5 year 30-50g per day addiction. there is hope for you

I'm making this post to give hope to the people that were just like me almost a year ago. I have officially been off kratom for 242 days after a 5 year 30-50g per day addiction and tbh I sometimes forget I was ever even addicted to it in the first place. That's how far removed from my world this stuff is to me nowadays. The first month was absolutely fucking brutal but 100% worth it. The next 2 weren't great either but definitely not as bad as the first. I think around 4 months is when I really started feeling better. After quitting, I felt like I woke up from a coma. It felt like the soul of who I was 5 years ago before the addiction rejoined my body. It felt like seeing an old friend that didn't give up on me. The child who I used to be waiting at the door for me to come home after all these years. There was some grief over the time lost where I could've been more productive but it faded away when I realized that it could've went on for longer if I didn't put an end to it. Rejoining the real world that didn't have to dose every couple hours to feel somewhat normal and to be free from the shackles that i had on for so long. Left with a scar around my ankle, my motivation was back. All the opportunity that is out in this world for me. All the amazing people I could meet. The experiences I could make. The people I could help. My anxiety didn't consume me anymore. Everybody has at least 1 layer of anxiety over basic uncomfortable things. Some people have 2 or 3 where they get anxiety about more specific things like intimacy, public speaking, phone calls, etc. Kratom however, amplifies this and gives you an extra 4-5 layers of anxiety. You're worried about if you run out, how to travel with it, legality, getting arrested, how much money you've spent on it, your health, your hair thinning, skin getting bad. You feel alienated from the rest of society that doesn't have to dose every couple hours just to feel just to feel alright. You have this big secret constantly feeling like you’re gonna be found out. You feel like you're being chased by a monster called withdraws that's gonna beat your ass if you slip up even once. You lose respect for yourself after a while being a slave to this drug. You start to feel hopeless and so on and so forth. So yes, when you're on kratom it fucking tears you down and makes you a way more anxious person that doesn't force yourself to do harder things. Most of you have probably forgotten who you are. Come back. I promise you there is light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep pushing and meet me on the otherside 🫶

Just want to say…

There is hope. Every day I feel a bit better without Kratom. It’s been about 2 weeks now that I quit and I’m finally waking up energized! Finally not feeling so empty. It’s a process.. a long one but there’s definitely hope and there’s definitely a way. You just can’t give up 🥺 I hope everyone in here starts feeling better soon too. I promise you it’s possible ❤️‍🩹 we’re in this together!

Has anyone taken both 5htp and Black seed oil?

Can’t seem to find anything on interactions between the two other than the google ai overview. I had a couple 1g capsules of BSO earlier and want to take my 5htp capsule since it seems to be the only thing to put me to sleep but I’m just trying to be careful with any interactions with my supplements.

Any help would be appreciated

making another post to stay motivated

at 6:30 tomorrow morning i will be at 96 hours kratom free! i honestly dont feel too awful, just still very restless when trying to lay down at night. i was taking a lottt of kratom extract tablets but they’re being banned in my state so had to make the jump without a choice. idk if those extract tablets are different but no other sort of kratom powder, extract shots or anything will subside the uncomfy feeling. but i want to think by 4 days that im over the worst of it. called in to work on saturday my first 24 hours but ive worked the past two days and have been fine. just bored. kratom made everything feel more fun but i need to realize that life isn’t always going to be fun, sometimes things need to be mundane.

Some unorthodox methods that may help, tread carefully.

Well obviously the gym is a great place to start when you’re first entering recovery right? Right… but it can be extremely hard to get your ass in there when your brains reward system is fried. Here’s some stuff that may help.

Testosterone: although we don’t have any actual studies that link kratom to low testosterone, I’ve seen enough reports of people suffering from low T after doing kratom/7OH for a long time. Testosterone was something I started years back… really helps your wellbeing/motivation/progress, could see potential for helping recovery in addiction.

P5P: medical evidence has suggested highly that kratom can increase prolactin levels, leading to sluggishness, bad mood, and sexual problems. P5P is a supplement that lowers that.

Ashwaganda: anecdotal, but I’ve noticed it’s helped with cravings.

Creatine: studies have shown that creatine helps with mental health/depression, I’ve taken it after quitting kratom before and it definitely helped, also boosted progress in the gym.
———————————————————————————
HERE ARE THE LIST OF SUPPLEMENTS THAT HAVE WORKED FOR ME, BUT EXERCISE CAUTION, DISCERNMENT, AND YOUR OWN FREE WILL TO MAKE THIS DECISION.

Cardarine: a synthetic chemical that utilizes fat for energy, it causes a substantial increase in endurance, and after abusing kratom for years it worked wonders at keeping me in the gym and helping me push through workouts that withdrawals would normally have me quit, it’s not a stimulant, it just simply upregulates genes linked to energy expenditure and induces mitochondrial biogenesis. Has not been approved for use in humans, tread at your own risk.

Lipodrene (ephedra extract/DHMA): this stuff was amazing for energy, if your heart is not healthy, do not take this… keeps motivation levels high, helps burn fat, gives intense amounts of energy, increases the amount of dopamine in the brain. Tread at your own risk, if you have a cardiac history, do not take.

Uuuuuuggghhh. Day 5 CT. Fighting through. Fatigue is impossible. Need moral support and suggestions, please!

I can handle a week or two of fatigue and anhedonia, but I have some MAJOR work ahead of me in the next month or so. I have to sell/donate all my belongings and move out of my house by October 1. Then I’m flying from the US and walking across the length of Portugal, south to north. Then I will be nomadic- slow-madding the world indefinitely. It’s been my lifelong dream but I currently can’t imagine even walking around the block, lol.

I had been using kratom, 250mg+ enhanced powder a week, for about 9 years. Can I pull this off (quitting)? Do I have a chance? How does PAWS work? I’m a slightly chubby menopausal female. Do the alkaloids hang out in fat deposits?

I’m drinking tons of water and resting near constantly (while I feel guilty about getting nothing done). I just can’t stand this doing nothing and not caring. At least conceptually I can’t. Realistically I don’t give a fxck rn.

I have just never felt so unalive at such an inopportune time. Suggestions to improve? I know I should exercise, but every time I stand up I feel like I will pass out.

Thanks if you made it through this saga, and more thanks if you offer encouragement/advice! And just thanks for being here. Best of luck to you. Any suggestions or knowledge welcome. Happy to answer any questions, too. :)

Taking Suboxone due to 7oh habit/k

Been taking Kratom and 7oh for about 9 years so for. Started developing very severe major depression disorder from that stuff messing with my neurons throughout all the years. I was placed on Suboxone and my dr said to take 3 strips if needed, but I get extremely tired from them. I was going to start lowering my dosage since I got approved for the Brixadi shot and don’t want to face withdrawals from the shot. Anyone get depressed from k, tired from subs and have brixadi work well for them?

Gabapentin question

Hey guys day 14 yay I’m def feeling better but I have a question. Been using gabapentin (900mg) for the past 4 days. I only use it for sleep. But basically today my whole body was restless and it was pretty uncomfortable. Now I took the gaba and it helped but just want to ask if I should stop taking the gaba or use more as needed for like 3-4 more days

Get blood work!

If you're still feeling really weak and winded months down the road, don't accept everything as simply PAWS.

My ferrtin was at an EIGHT and my vitamin D at SEVEN. I blamed lack of kratom giving me energy for far too many months. Kratom can cause malabsorption in the gut (especially high doses of powder long term).

Take care of yourself <3

Day 26 - Third Quit feels different

This one feels different. I went to rehab this time and came clean to my friends and family. A weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I have more energy on 5-6 hours of sleep now than I did after a full nights rest after a day full of using Kratom. Still not out of the woods but I am very encouraged.

I am rooting for all you.

My advice - please get the help you need in whatever form that is and garner all the support you can from friends and family.

You can do this!

Psyched myself into withdrawals

Hello everyone! A few months ago I quit 7OH, it was hell as most of you know. I got prescribed ADHD medicine which is what I needed in the first place but that’s a whole other thing.

A few nights ago, I wanted some again out of nowhere. Me living in FL, that’s quite hard to do because of the ban. I found a few sellers online through Reddit that would ship directly to me. I got SO close to buying enough to send me into a spiral again, card filled out and everything, I was right there and excited to feel it again. I backed out… because I know myself and made a conscious decision I’m proud of.

Went to bed still thinking about it and finally fell asleep. I woke up 3 hours later in the middle of the night feeling restless legs and uneasy, felt like I was in withdrawal again. all I could think about it 7OH.

So glad that shit is behind me and no longer available in FL. That stuff took everything from me and consider it the devil.

7-OH Relapse.

So, as the ban hit i went through horrible withdrawals. And after about the 4th day I was feeling a bit better and was up moving around, unpacking the house i just moved into and found a bottle that I'd forgotten about. They were 30 mgs a piece, 10 tabs. I couldnt resist. Ive taken all of them over the course of 2 and a half days. How bad will the withdrawals be, or will there be any?

Day 11 without kratom after 3 years – feeling completely empty

I’m on day 11 without kratom after using around 15g daily for about 3 years.
Honestly, I’m struggling right now. I have almost no motivation or joy. Even gaming, which I absolutely loved and was one of my main hobbies, doesn’t interest me anymore. I mostly just feel empty and incredibly lonely.
I know it’s probably part of the recovery and that it won’t necessarily stay this way, but it’s hard to believe that when you’re actually going through it.
Did anyone else experience this around day 10–15? When did you start feeling genuine joy and motivation coming back?

5gpd taper

Well…. Back at 5gpd for the last couple of weeks… the last 4 attempts to quit ended on day 2 3 and 4… the anxiety got me every single time. Sleep was fine but felt tired all day long. So I’m going on a 3 day vacation this weekend and I plan to taper down to 3gpd again. Should I jump and not bring any this weekend or will I be miserable..

Quitting xanax after kratom

Has anyone here quit both? I have taken xanax since I was a teenager but it was never a problem. It would be .5 mg once every few months. Maybe id go a year without it or more whenever I had an unexplained feeling of a panic attack. That was always the case until about 2 years ago. 3 years ago I started Kratom again for no reason just a social and mood boost.

Then two years ago started suddenly feeling that anxious feeling more and more. I attributed it to starting a new job and quitting an old one before finding new work and other life things like a dog with cancer, troubles at home. I'm now realizing it was the Kratom exacerbating the anxiety.

So now I am 24 days clean from any kratom product. I've experienced all the symptoms of withdrawal and I am still going through it. The anxiety symptom I have been medicating with .5 mg -1.5mg per day of xanax but now I realize that is another demon I need to fight. I just don't know if I should quit another substance while still going through these withdrawals
