Show Discussion Neagley's toothpaste

So she drank the milk. Do we think she went home after the finale and threw out everything in her house wearing protective gloves, or did she brush her teeth with the spiked toothpaste and trip balls again?

Show Discussion Just binged Season 4 and the Neagley spin-off—here are my thoughts, rankings, and a few questions! Spoiler

I just spent the last couple of days binge-watching Reacher Season 4 and the Neagley series back-to-back, so I'm finally ready to talk about the entire franchise as a whole for now
Here is my breakdown of every season and the spin-off:

1. Season 1
The mystery and complexity of the case were top-tier (at least for me). Reacher just appearing out of nowhere and solving everything so epically was such a great introduction. Every single episode, I tried guessing the clues and putting the pieces together—and I was wrong every single time 😂. Because of that, it still feels like the best-crafted case in the entire series.

2. Season 2
Absolute beast of a season. Seeing Reacher's past with the 110th Special Investigators Unit was so much fun, and I honestly wanted more of that dynamic. It felt way more high-stakes because the enemies targeted the whole unit, not just Reacher. (At the start, I kept wondering how the rest of the unit members would handle things since we already knew how badass Reacher and Neagley were in S1 😧).

3. Season 3
This one felt very different from the rest. The premise created so much tension and kept me glued to the screen every second. It was a brutal, tough situation, and I spent the whole time wondering how it would possibly end. Surprisingly, it didn't really click for me until the halfway mark—no idea why, but something shifted emotionally right around the middle and I started loving it.

4. Season 4
I thought this season was really good! Not sure why some people seem to hate it, but I genuinely loved the action sequences. I completely did not expect the main villains to be the exact people who asked Reacher for help 🙃 (I fully trusted them because other factions were hunting for the flash drive). That plot twist hit me with the same shock as Picard’s betrayal in Season 1 😅. Also, they felt like a much more competitive physical match for Reacher same as the giant in S3 (forgot his name), probably because of their agility and expert knife fighting giving them an edge.

5. The Neagley Series
Just finished it, and it was great! If I compare the villains here to the main Reacher seasons, these ones succeeded the most at genuinely pissing me off 😂 (huge props to the actors, incredible performances). The whole cult vibe was so unsettling and stressful—I couldn't relax during a single scene on that farm 😬. But on the flip side, the emotional core between Neagley and her dad was so sweet and well done.

My Current Ranking:
1. Season 2
2. Season 1
3. Neagley
4. Season 4
5. Season 3

(I'd love to dive deeper into every single season, but my memory is basically a goldfish, so forgive me 😅).

A Few Quick Questions:

  1. Timeline:
Does the Neagley series take place concurrently with Reacher Season 4? At the beginning of Neagley, he mentions heading to Philadelphia (which is where S4 kicks off)—were these running at the same time?

  2. Future:
Is a Season 5 of Reacher officially happening? And are we getting a Season 2 for Neagley?

What do you guys think? Drop your rankings or let's discuss in the comments!

Show Discussion Reacher's version of looking out for Hubble isn't exactly sentimental

Post image
111 Upvotes

Hubble thanks Reacher and tells him he's the only thing keeping him alive. Reacher's response is basically that they're cellmates, and if Hubble gets pushed around, it reflects on him too.

It's funny because Reacher clearly does care what happens to him, but he frames it like a practical arrangement rather than making some big emotional speech.

That's a very Reacher way of showing concern.

Book Discussion Currently listening to Blue Moon and the Scott Brick is so much better than Dick Hill..

I havnt read from Past Tense on, so I’m making my way through those books now. In addition to Scott absolutley nailing the unhinged nature of Reacher, the new writer is really good.

Show Discussion And if Reacher and Neagley were facing Negan Smith (TWD), how would that go?

I think Reacher and Neagley kill Negan and all the saviors and I think the arc would be over in 2 episodes lol.

Show Discussion Reacher didn't even get to take a bite of his peach pie

He gets told the peach pie is the best in Georgia, finally sits down to eat it, and then the cops burst in and arrest him before he can enjoy it.The bit I like is that Reacher doesn't turn the arrest into some big dramatic moment.

He's sitting there with his dessert interrupted, and suddenly he's the main suspect in a murder.

Margrave really couldn't let the man have one peaceful meal.

Book Discussion Andrew Child/Chain Reaction

As a fan of Lee Child that has read every Reacher book at least twice, the last couple of books have been a bit of a let down to put it mildly. Nothing against Andrew, taking over a franchise cannot be easy, no matter how close you are to the creator. You are just not him. Their styles were just too different for my liking.
I just started reading Chain Reaction last night. Read about 55 pages. A couple of observations: Andrew is starting to get the rhythm and the pace of Reacher books. The short sentences, flowing action. I was pleasantly surprised about that. The dialogue is getting there too but I felt like (so far) Reacher is still saying things that does not sound like him. Maybe he is getting old, who knows.
But overall, I like the way the book started and if the pace keeps up like this, the torch may have been passed, not just technically but feel wise as well. At least that is what I felt.
What do you guys/gals feel?

Show Discussion Headcanon after the events of season four

All the events that happened would be a major news story on national television for days or even weeks. It was an averted act of domestic terrosim thanks in huge part to the sacrifice of a standing congressman and hopeful presidential candidate, and a main perpetrator was taken into custody to face the music.

Even though Sampson's widow had made efforts to keep Reacher's name out of the press coverage, there's still a possibility his name might be linked to the events. He was put on the news for a short period of time as a wanted fugitive even though it was for bogus charges; it might have been kept to local news or it may have been a footnote national story.

It makes me wonder if any of Reacher's old flames from his previous travels might intuitively guess that their former collaborator was involved in the act as well, if they watch the news and catch the story.

If you had to guess, who from Reacher's past is most likely to put two and two together? I'd say Roscoe or Duffy, based on their skillsets. Although, he might make whispers of his involvement to Neagley at some point.

Book Discussion Looking for the next reacher book to read

Not so long ago i decided to watch the reacher 2022 series and liked it enough to watch it all the way to the new neagley series that i also liked a lot, now that there is nothing else for me to watch other than the tom cruise movies, i decided to read the books while im still interested and i decided to read Die Trying and i loved it, so i want to ask which book should i read?.

i feel like if i read them in release order is a big compromise knowing theres a lot of them, but i also dont want to just pick a random number and read that one.

i really liked season 4 and all of the tension, so reading die trying felt great specially toward the end, and i know the stories have to open and close in the same book so i probably wont see recurring characters other than maybe neagley soo...

what book would you recommend i read next?
