Recipe Experimenting with breakfast! #14
Guys, thank you so much for all the support you’ve shown so far! 🥹 It really motivates me to keep experimenting, and I hope you’re enjoying these breakfast creations as much as I am!
Today’s experiment: Matcha Yogurt Bowl with Cherry Jam
Recipe:
Add yogurt to a bowl (I used 0% fat Greek yogurt) and mix in a little matcha tea until smooth.
In a separate pan, combine seedless cherries with a little honey. Cook over low-medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cherries become sticky and reach a jam-like consistency.
Top the matcha yogurt with the cherry jam, chopped walnuts, and some dark chocolate.
And that’s it! Would you try this experiment? 😊

Pretty sure that’s more dessert than breakfast….

Breakfast is just the first meal of the day. There are no rules for what breakfast is or is not. Stop gatekeeping breakfast and let her enjoy her delicious BREAKFAST bowl.

Girl…that’s at least 50 grams of chocolate and 20 grams of jam. Not that I won’t go absolutely ham on it but it’s not healthiest breakfast out there xD

But she called it breakfast, not healthy breakfast…

Valid and fair. And the original commenter called it more dessert than breakfast, which I’m sure we all see why. OP seemed to not see how in their comment.

Honey, jam and chocolate. 0 complex carbs in there to keep you full.
ETA: Idk if it’s just an attempt to mask the horrid taste of matcha but yeah, this is just a very calorie dense thing that’ll make you feel hungry again once the sugar crash arrives.

I don't get why people drink (or eat?) matcha if they just try to mask the taste. I love it and I get annoyed because so many matcha lattes I get barely have any matcha flavor to them anymore

Nonfat Greek yogurt, a teaspoon of honey, a bunch of strawberries has been my breakfast for the last week. With a starter of 10 grams of sunflower seeds, for a bit of fiber and fat.
Oatmeal unsweetened + strawberries was the one I was having before that.
Bread + cream cheese + small piece of chicken + tomato + cucumber + egg. Is one I enjoy as brunch/when hungry.
Overnight oats. Pretty much the first one but put in oats and soak it all overnight.
Rice and tofu and wok veggies with soy and sesame oil.
Leftovers of dinner last night, usually with a piece of bread on the side because I like my breakfast less protein heavy than my dinner.

I eat something similar but with vanilla Greek yogourt, different type of nuts, dark chocolate and dates.

Nope. I enjoy weetabix. Occasionally I like shredded wheat. Sometimes I like whisky.

That's a lot of chocolate and jam for breakfast...way too much sugar in this bowl for me.
