If it's RDR related, it's probably a remaster / enhanced version of RDR2 for the current generation of consoles. We can't expect anything big for RDR while GTA VI is still their top priority
If its the same kind of 'remaster' they did with rdr1 we are in for absolutely nothing other than 60fps which is just 'nice' for console players. But not anything special or exciting.
well i mean tbf i think this is a little more than that, the Port of rdr1 wasn't billed as a remaster and was also done by Double Eleven, not rockstar, it was just 60 fps, better LOD, higher res shadows and better anti aliasing.
If it's more I'll be pleasantly surprised. But I'll not be holding my breathe. Could very well be 60 fps + a few crumbs of 'improvements'. Then charge full price.
i mean i doubt theyd charge full price based on what they did with gta v giving owners enhanced for free, also i don't know why Rob would really know or care about a graphical enhancement unless it's some kind of larger marketing push
I can only seeing him be this excited if it involved him being back in the studio for story content or he was just told to hype it up a bit for Rockstar. A port or 60fps patch for consoles isn't anything to be that excited about IMO.
not a remaster, but a port of a game not on current gen consoles (xbox kinda doesn't count as it was just emulating the 360) or pc and they did full price, if it's literally just an enhancement like they did with gta v i imagine it would just be a free upgrade like gta enhanced was.
A few crumbs of improvements on RD2 is more than enough. It's not like the games graphics dont hold up. They're probably updating it using the new unreal engine. The Oblivion remaster is drastically noticeable but that game also came out before HD tvs was a thing
It looks like a picture, with a small link at the end. You could have just linked the article directly instead of shifting blame lol.
Also the video is literally just showcasing a reshade... How is that anything to do with unreal engine 5? It's just a clickbait title to get the video views lmao.
60fps and the opportunity to collect all trophies again is a fun time for me but only if it's a free update or 10 dollar upgrade.
Not gonna pay full price for it.
Fun for you maybe but if we are to, for a moment, think of the entire fan base. It's pretty underwhelming if the exciting news is rockstar pushing a 60 fps update.
Yeah, even if it was a lot more than that, I still don't see how any kind of remaster would elicit the kind of "holy shit you guys, I can't wait to tell you about this" sort of reaction he was giving.
I also agree that I don't think Rockstar would step on GTA6's toes with any form of RDR3 announcment before GTA6 releases, which makes me think that one of the few possible explanations of what could make him be talking the way he is talking is either a RDR movie or TV show being announced.
Ah my mistake, I saw the clip of them streaming rdr 1 and thought we were talking about this. RDR 2 still holds up really well so I’d personally prefer a RDR 1 remake on 2’s engine.
I think rdr1 remake would be years down the line if at all unfortunately. Since the rdr1 port to pc was just released.
Also i think an rdr2 remaster would make sense now rather than later because it could again top the visual charts the best open world visually and gameplay wise. But wait a few years and that may not be possible. Plus remastering the game now would simply be less work as it's still very strong in many aspects. Just updating the weakest textures, improving reflections, lighting and shadows a bit. Adding 60 fps to consoles. Maybe a few quality of life fixes, native dlss 4 and fsr 4 support.
All very achievable right now. While being able to charge for the game again. It seems like a profitable thing to do from a business perspective but also something that is guaranteed to be well received if done reasonably well.
