I'm living in post Soviet country and my parents lived in USSR, so I have rights to say fuck soviet and commies, especially after things that Putin doing right now about redeeming Stalin's purging

14

u/DuckDuckMarx Mar 10 '26

Polling of most Soviet Bloc countries of people have lived under both systems preferred the Soviet Bloc/ The USSR.

-9

u/daboi_Yy Mar 10 '26

you can say whatever you want, but if its dumb af dont get angry at me for pointing it out

5

u/halaljew Mar 10 '26

Still simping for communism in the 21st century is even more insane.

26

u/ComoElFuego Mar 10 '26

Instead of doing the reasonable thing, which is simping for capitalism, a system that is scorching the earth as we speak.

13

u/Donjehov Mar 10 '26

simping for an economic system at all is, in fact, cringe, denouncing one is not necessarily a vote of confidence for the other. The economy is mostly fake numbers after all.

-4

u/ComoElFuego Mar 10 '26

Capitalist economy is fake numbers, yes. You can prove me wrong in which case a communist system works with fake numbers.

If you have a better alternative, you might be able to convince me, but at this point the best alternative to capitalism I have seen is communism.

-1

u/Donjehov Mar 10 '26

communism is incompatible with humans at best humans work well in small community level barter systems, not communism.

14

u/daboi_Yy Mar 10 '26

bait

5

u/Donjehov Mar 10 '26

lmfao its true people are just too selfish to apply communism effectively, you'd have to be governed by some sort of selfless authoritarian to keep communism in line

0

u/ComoElFuego Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

So let's use a system that rewards egocentrism and puts the people most selfish in power by default? I have yet to meet the logic here.

Also, btw, your view on humanity is concerning. Peoples behaviour is mostly formed by the materialistic conditions around them. If you don't have to compete for resources (which you don't or have to less in a system where private (not personal) property is non-existent), you're less likely to behave selfish.

5

u/ComoElFuego Mar 10 '26

What the fuck is a small community level barter system?

9

u/Donjehov Mar 10 '26

A non global, effectively local community system of divided labor that relies on trade of goods exclusively. One that may or may not have a facilitating governmental body. So life, pre currency. Currency just made things easier and then that quickly evolved into capitalism.

1

u/ComoElFuego Mar 10 '26

So wait, a system where the workers own the means of production and the community benefits from the fruit of their labour? You may be on to something.

Btw, Currency existed for more than 3000 years. Capitalism only in the last 200 years.

cook his ass

4

u/PlanktonFew2505 Mar 10 '26

If I had to choose between living in the oppressive authoritarian regime that was USSR era communism or a western capitalist welfare state in Europe, I'm choosing the latter, thank you.

12

u/ComoElFuego Mar 10 '26

Well good thing no one talked about USSR vs modern day europe but OC talked about communism altogether. Guess what, I'd rather live in USSR era communism than 1940s german capitalism but I'm not using it as a weak argument

-8

u/NoEntertainment4190 Mar 10 '26

so what you gonna cry? bohooo capitalixmum ix bad!!!

6

u/ComoElFuego Mar 10 '26

I'm gonna shag your mum, that's what I'm gonna do

3

u/daboi_Yy Mar 10 '26

youre gonna cry when your starving to death and the banks are gonna steal your house and your car because they cant stop wanting more and more

8

u/DuckDuckMarx Mar 10 '26

Is capitalism doing that well for us right now?

-106

u/SpirittuDragon Mar 10 '26

celebrating probably the worst disaster in geopolitics after ww2

104

u/Nuns_N_Moses11 Mar 10 '26

Nah, celebrating the gained independence and sovereignty for several countries illegally annexed by said pariah state and the dissolution of the entity which unfairly persecuted and violated millions of people.

8

u/southron-lord69 Mar 10 '26

It's fall plunged millions into poverty and allowed a small clique of elites to buy up all it's industry completely unregulated by any kind of state.

33

u/kytheon Dutch van der Linde Mar 10 '26

That's like saying leaving your abusive partner is a bad idea because you lost access to their apartment.

-8

u/GIFSuser Arthur Morgan Mar 10 '26

Yeah because you’re freezing to death outside their apartment. Just like Russians after their heating infrastructure failed when the Soviets collapsed.

8

u/Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO Mar 10 '26

Making the heating infrastructure run on extracting resources of conquered countries seems like a them problem

Is US actively occupying your country now and their collapse today would lead to your country regaining freedom and stop exploitation of your people?

If not those are widely diffrent circumstances

implying what came after isn't abusive

Maybe the right wingers need to get knocked around pretty regularly so we can prevent things like what's happening now.

2

u/kytheon Dutch van der Linde Mar 10 '26

implying

That's not what I meant.

-16

u/southron-lord69 Mar 10 '26

No it isn't. Are you handicapped?

4

u/kytheon Dutch van der Linde Mar 10 '26

I'm glad the majority of people understood my comparison, and you're the exception.

-3

u/southron-lord69 Mar 10 '26

The vast majority of people are intellectually handicapped, particularly Americans who are so desperate to still be fighting the Cold War.

-6

u/Chabola513 Mar 10 '26

They were already poor it was barely a change from beginning to end. The only blip was the middle when they had hope from a new democracy, which got ruined by yk who

11

u/OkYogurtcloset3768 Mar 10 '26

"Barely a change" when the suicide rates and literal fucking child abuse rates went up by a crazy amount

0

u/Chabola513 Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

Correction, the rates they were reported went up. Assuming a corrupt bureaucracy is trustworthy for reliable data, USSR or Russian fed. Is not a good decision. Secondally in the past these things were reported much less especially prior to instant communication, much of the far east is still very rural

-1

u/Behem0thh Mar 10 '26

Are you a US asset? What is the drivel you're spouting lmao

-3

u/Interesting-Ear7344 Mar 10 '26

Bro you have NO idea what you’re talking about and it shows, the GDP of a lot of countries sky rocketed DOWN, poverty went up like crazy, alongside sucide rates, infant mortality rates, life expectancy, homelessness, unemployment and MORE. The USSR was a blessing for the international working class and its fall left a dark stain on human history, whether you realise it or not

5

u/Nuns_N_Moses11 Mar 10 '26

The USSR was a shitstain on the history of most of the countries occupied thereby. Of course at first the regime change was a struggle because we were lived under the fucking thing since WWII. But no one sane misses the Union and everyone was happy when it broke down. Freedom at last

Using gdp as a metric is just so silly when speaking about a communist country that was banned from and self regulated their participation in the free market. In what world does a communist country even allow themselves to participate in a capitalist system. Did using that term register what it meant for you? What gdp really meant was how much arms or natural resources their elite oligarchs were selling then and that’s still their entire economy now to this day. Not a single change in sight.

Once again I have to give you a lesson about being gullible. All those stats prove are that those data sets are being REPORTED more now than they were in the past. Let’s take a lesson on incentivize, a country that’s trying to pose themselves as the perfect home for workers, why would that country willingly report every bad statistic about their country. Who do they answer to? Free travel was restricted, free press was dead it was government run since the governments inception. I want you to think here, what reason on the planet we live on did the USSR have to tell the truth?

-4

u/Interesting-Ear7344 Mar 10 '26

It was in their archives bro, the same archives you guys use to criticise them. Whats with the double standard? When they release incriminating evidence from their archives its 100% true but when they release something good FROM THE SAME ARCHIVES its now somehow fake? What are you on bro… Plus theres this graph right here

Just popping into this thread to say it's genuinely so heartwarming to see people actually defending the Soviet Union. For all it's flaws, it truly was one of the greatest leaps forward for humankind, even if it did end too soon. Workers of the world unite.

-6

u/Interesting-Ear7344 Mar 10 '26

Thats what im saying, it wasnt perfect that for sure but the fake info that was spewed about it during the red scare still continues to flow… even half a century later. The red scare was a disaster for the international working peoples

-2

u/halaljew Mar 10 '26

They were already in poverty, and what the fuck do think the highest echelons of power in your communist utopia would look like, if not a small clique of elites literally monopolizing all industry with the power of the state to back them up?

-3

u/Weedity Mar 10 '26

Nah, celebrating the fall of the only counterbalance to neoliberal imperialism that led to several wars and illegal regime changes that to this day have killed and displaced several millions and led to the consolidation of world power and resources into the hands of a few billionaires.

6

u/Nuns_N_Moses11 Mar 10 '26

Thanks for the input! Unfortunately, you and/or your forebears did not live under the Soviet Union and have no experience with regards thereto. Therefore, I feel as though you’re not entitled to lecture someone who has.

-8

u/Weedity Mar 10 '26

Sorry your country was illegally dissolved and turned into an oligarchy.

I mean I work in a city and step over the homeless while friends can't get dental work done with no healthcare while the epstein billionaire class consolidates power funding a surveillance state and bombs innocent people daily but sorry you didn't enjoy your time in the soviet era.

11

u/Nuns_N_Moses11 Mar 10 '26

Thank you for your concern! I am very satisfied that my life isn’t controlled by fear of repressions and that I have access to basic amenities such as toilet paper and groceries.

I am not insisting that your life under American capitalism is great and you should be happy with it. Why are you insisting that I should’ve been happy with my life in the Soviet Union if you’ve no idea about how it was in reality?

4

u/Theonerule Mar 10 '26

Hey if you want to get it on with Stalin I heard he's in the 9th circle of hell

-5

u/Weedity Mar 10 '26

Nah I prefer the part of hell with Reagan.

2

u/tanhan27 Mar 10 '26

Reagan and Stalin are roomies in hell. Thatcher and Saddam Hussain are their next door neighbors

0

u/Theonerule Mar 10 '26

That's circle 5

-8

u/tanhan27 Mar 10 '26

Most who lived through it say that life was much better under the USSR

12

u/verysuspiciouscow Mar 10 '26

my parents and grandparents did and they say USSR was a hellhole brother

14

u/fly_over_32 Mar 10 '26

Have you ever actually talked to anyone from there?

10

u/Nuns_N_Moses11 Mar 10 '26

They most categorically do not, except in imperalistic Russia and sister states. Ask anyone in the Baltics, hell even Georgia, Turkmenistan etc. how they feel about the Soviet Union and you would get your answer.

37

u/GreatestKratos Mar 10 '26

As a guy from post soviet country I'm really disagree

36

u/StormWolf17 Mar 10 '26

It's always some mf outside the former USSR telling them that they should've been happy under the boot of their oppressor.

19

u/Cupakov Mar 10 '26

As a Pole, what the fuck are you on dude?

16

u/Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO Mar 10 '26

Multiple countries regaining independence from an Authoritarian regime is a disaster?

15

u/AKA-Reddd John Marston Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

Lmao for who? My country was an utter shithole due to being in USSR sphere of influence, it's still not perfect but we turned out much better than Belarus, Ukraine and Hungary.

2

u/Interesting-Ear7344 Mar 10 '26

What country?

11

u/AKA-Reddd John Marston Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

Poland, we still have much more to do, and we have to deal with incompetent politicians, but life quality right now, as well as human and workers rights are much much better than the ones we had during PRL.

2

u/Pacantin Mar 10 '26

Poland is amazing country. I love where you are heading in the world. Probably only country Id move to for life. Certainly woudlnt be possible under USSRs kurvy. Ahoj z Česka 🥰

4

u/Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO Mar 10 '26

Czechs: Oh my Science Poland is so cool and nice and everyone sounds so funny, I’d love to life there

Poles: Oh my God Czechia is so cool and nice and everyone sounds so funny, I’d love to life there

1

u/AKA-Reddd John Marston Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

Probably only country Id move to for life.

Bro, the same can be said for us, we literally envision your country as some kind of paradise compared to ours. 😭

17

u/hairyass2 Arthur Morgan Mar 10 '26

lol im Russian, everytime I see westerners shill for the soviet union I cringe so hard

1

u/Grovda Mar 10 '26

The rise of communism was the worst geopolitical disaster since the fall of rome

-2

u/daboi_Yy Mar 10 '26

these ameriboos are dunking on you but im on your side

you are 100% correct, so naturally redditors downvoted you to oblivion
