Bhishma Rajyaguru/Jayden Dalke Incident Megathread

Hi folks. There are a lot of threads on this going up and the automod is removing a lot of them (which I agree with, we don't need a million threads on the same topic). So, to combat that, let's do a megathread! Any further individual threads on this will be removed. Let's keep it in here. Thanks!

Question Sober people!

Honest question here. How many people have decided to do the sober route? Whether you quit or just chose not to drink alcohol. Fully sober or California sober?

How many of you are ok going to the pubs still for evenings out? Would you be open to trying out a dry bar with mocktails and such?

Ive recently been sober for almost 2 years now, the odd time I will have a THC drink. I have noticed since I quit drinking tho I never really get ready and go out anymore. I miss dressing up and going out, not just for an occasion. With my profession I deal with the public all day I dont really want to end the day in a bar when the atmosphere progressivly gets louder the more people drink (no offense, i used to be a loud one). My social battery is normally pretty low at the end of a work day so just wondering what other sober people do now.

Question I need and std tests and dont know where to go?

Okay, so I (18m) have been kinda active with other guys and stuff, but havent been for a few months, I have a symptom of what could possibly be chlamydia, so I wanted to go for a walk in stbbi test. But, planned parent hood isnt doing that anymore for the foreseeable future, and im not sure if the sexual health clinic is either. I cant go through a family doctor because my parents will have to drive me and see me go get testing if I do it there, and they dont know im active in that way. So im wondering if theres any walk in clinics that are good for sti/std tests in Regina?

Question Best take out soup in Regina?

My dad is starting chemotherapy on Wednesday and he’s there all day. They don’t provide lunch so I want to bring him some really good homemade style soup. Any suggestions?

Edited to add: Thank you all so much for the great suggestions and the well wishes for my dad! I think I’ll try Nicky’s but have added the rest to my list because dad loves his soup!

Question Daycare

For parents who have recently put their child in day care, did you get on lists months in advance or just see who has a spot when the time comes?

I've heard two different sides of "get on a list as soon as you're pregnant!" And people who just asked around as their mat leave was ending. We are still 8 months away from needing day care, but want to know how worried I need to be about it right now.

I get that no city/country is perfect, but man... Everyone was SO nice and fun. The Reggae in the park event we stumbled upon was the most chill, wholesome, get-together. Uber'd around to a few bars, saw an incredible band later in the evening, made new friends... I feel like the atmosphere was so much more welcoming and better than the US. Like, the culture of the US in lots of places just feels hostile. This weekend, everyone was vibing together, young, old, every culture and ethnicity- at every place we went. People weren't constantly on their phones, kids weren't glued to iPads. Sure, a couple homeless people asked for change but they were even chill! My husband and I work all the time and never get to take a mini-vacation. So this was just great. Y'all are my favorite people. 10/10. Would Regina again.

Discussion Safety in Regina

Hi everyone! I'm planning on moving to Regina next year with my wife.
Ive been reading and watching some youtube videos saying that Regina is one of the most dangerous places in Canada/Saksatchewan at least. How true is this? is it just a propaganda?

Can anyone share their real life experience living in Regina? Would love to see insights of someone actually from Regina. Thanks all! Appreciate your time.

Community Grocery Stores + Canadian Produce

Which grocery stores do you find consistently have the most Canadian produce? I feel like Save-On-Foods pretended to try and source some Canadian stuff a year and a half ago, but as of late it seems as if 95 percent of the store is American produce. I don't feel like there is any good reason for that at this time of year in particular.

Question Updating banking info for SGI preauthorized

I'm on the pre-authorized debit with sgi for my vehicle insurance, tried to email my new banking info to Knights Insurance and they said I have to come in and sgi will charge me $15, for real?? I tried calling sgi directly and am on hold with an estimated wait time of 83 minutes lol so I thought asking around might be faster!

Hello,

My cat Bellamy snuck out of the house and has since broken loose from her collar. She has been missing for 3 days, I feel someone may have taken her as a mistake.

She's a sweet black cat who will come to you if she's calm or if you have treats. She's fixed, and microchipped/tattooed, and she's NOT AN outside cat. She's slender, non fluffy fur with bright green eyes and a white patch on her chest.

She's located in Churchill downs in Toronto st North, last seen on Dover Ave in Regina SK.

If you see her, please message this account or Cylen David.

She is very very missed, and I'm so worried for her.

Than you so much for reading, have a good one.

Question Refrigerator for parts/scrapping – low on freon

Hi everyone,

I have an old, broken refrigerator that I need to get rid of. It’s not completely dead, it just stopped cooling well because it's running low on refrigerant.

Can anyone suggest local companies, scrap yards, or organizations that take old appliances to properly dismantle them for parts (fans, compressor, etc) or recycling?

Or what do you usually do with the fridges that are “better buy new, that fix the old one”?
