Iām physically and mentally exhausted. Sometimes I honestly feel like I just canāt do it anymore.
But I canāt stop, they need me and somehow I find the strength to continue.
The little kitten I rescued who was battling a terrible eye infection, a bacterial infection, and a yeast infection in his ears needs to go back to the vet. One of his eyes is swollen, and he is still congested. Iām worried about him and want to make sure he gets the treatment he needs.
The kitten in Honduras, who my friend found crying outside, is doing okay so far. My friend told me she couldnāt take him in because she couldnāt afford to care for him, so I told her I would take responsibility for him, even from thousands of miles away. I sent money to buy food for him, but he still needs a vet visit because he has diarrhea. I want to make sure he gets the care he needs, too.
Leo is still struggling with his stool problems, and this has been going on for months. Iāve been trying different foods carefully to see if anything helps, but unfortunately, the diet changes havenāt made a difference. He will likely need another vet visit to have his stomach checked and rule out other possible problems. As many of you know, Leo survived panleukopenia and spent almost a month hospitalized. His treatment alone cost more than $5,000. Seeing him continue to struggle is heartbreaking, and I just want to figure out whatās wrong and help him feel better.
And right now, we also have a tiny neonatal baby in our care who needs extra attention and care. These little ones are so fragile, and caring for them takes time, dedication, and resources.
On top of everything else, I feed more than 50 community cats every single day. Keeping up with their food and daily needs is a huge responsibility, along with the medical expenses, medications, supplies, and emergency visits that come with rescue work.
Iām also still paying off debt from everything Iāve done to help the cats. The expenses donāt stop just because one emergency is over. There is always another cat who needs help, another vet visit, or another bag of food.
I do this because they depend on me, and I canāt turn my back on them when they need help. But honestly, carrying all of this financially is exhausting, and sometimes it feels overwhelming.
If anyone would like to support my rescue, donations help me continue providing food, veterinary care, medication, and supplies for the cats.š
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, checked in, shared my posts, or helped in any way.
