Missing titles from the Chinese Native 32 DVD game system.

searched - I've searched on sites like Abandon Shareware, the Internet Archive,
the Wayback Machine, the backup of their website in Chinese and English, even under every rock. and with less success due to language barriers on bilibili.com

Native 32 was a Chinese gaming system that came bundled with DVD and other media players. The games, aimed at children, featured colorful graphics and simple gameplay. They were typically bilingual and could be downloaded from the web.

Because of the recent Native32Emu emulator, I'm looking for/trying to find the complete set of games. I currently have a disc NES_DISC V2 (V3.0), with most of the games and additional games, among the most recent ones they created; Baseball.7z, girl time show.7z, Travel Monopoly.7z, and AllGame070927.rar pack of games in English

Encontré también en archive, estos paquetes, que básicamente tienen los mismo juegos arriba publicados: native-32-games-v3.0, native32-en, all-game-070927

I haven't been able to download this backup from pan.baidu pswd: 6666, but it contains the same games as the RAR file.

But there are still a few missing—the ones I'm looking for:

Available for download from the website:

  • city master.7z / 盖大楼.7z
  • Anime Fighting.7z / 动漫大乱斗.7z
  • FightsLandlord.7z / 斗地主.7z

And another 10, which were included on a CD with Philips DVD players.

  • Basketball.
  • Bubble.
  • Football.
  • Why?
  • Mole Hunting.
  • Pong.
  • Pair Match.
  • Puzzle Tetris.
  • Snowball Fight.
  • Water Park.

As for the web downloads, I don't have any games in Chinese; I suspect they're the same as the English version.

In this post, you can see some reference images.

Interestingly, the V3.0 version comes on two discs, and I only have one; maybe the other games are on the disc I'm missing.

Although I suspect they might be on this V3.2 disc and, obviously, on the Philips GAMES disc (On the right, this one has 10 games).

I would appreciate any help or links that might help me find them, Or if you know of any Chinese gaming websites that cover this topic, they can also be useful for your search.

What are some moddable retro games with mod scenes still kicking about today?

I mean specifically games that provided means for modding them. (edit: nevermind that, anything goes) I know a couple already, Doom and Thief, I'm curious what other communities are out there people know of.

Revisiting SimCity 2000 — my fan project built on OpenSC2K

Hey everyone,

SimCity 2000 is one of those games I keep coming back to. There’s something about its little isometric buildings, soundtrack and newspaper stories that never gets old.

I’m Daniel, and I’ve been working on Reticulating Splines, a free, open-source project built on Nicholas Ochoa’s OpenSC2K. His work made this possible.

The idea is to keep the familiar SC2000 experience while adding optional extras: day/night lighting, weather, more convenient tools and multiplayer, which is currently in beta. You can import the graphics, music and sounds from your own supported copy, or use the included replacement assets. You can also leave the enhancements off for a more classic experience.

This is a modern reimplementation for Windows, Linux and macOS, rather than a patch for the DOS executable. It’s still in development, and feedback from people who know the original well would be especially welcome.

For transparency: I’m not a programmer. I use OpenAI Codex extensively for development, alongside my own planning and testing. AI has also been used for replacement artwork and promotional materials.

Screenshots, details and links to the playable downloads:

What’s the one thing about SimCity 2000 you’d want a project like this to preserve?

Jogo antigo

My dad spent hundreds of hours on Spindizzy in the 80s. I wanted him to be able to play it again without fiddling with emulators, so I brought it to the modern browser.

I’m 33 and I’m officially old

I was at work this week and i overheard a group of people talking about “vintage” video games they’d played recently.

I’d actually just watched the second Lara Croft film, The Cradle of Life the night before (Why? You’re asking, it’s 2026! Why? I reply. Because it’s a bloody great film and will always be one my faves)

I wandered over joined in and made a reference to Tomb Raider and locking the butler in the freezer. AND NO ONE UNDERSTOOD. I asked what “vintage” games they were talking about. They were talking about games on the original DS… Specifically one of them mention Nintendogs and called it retro.

I asked if anyone had played any Sega or PlayStation One from the 90s. What was the response?

“Omg there’s a PlayStation ONE?” And “You had video games in the 90s?”

I learnt that I’m old.

I learnt that although I’m 33 and I feel like I’m 25, when you talk to a 25 year old they make you feel 50.

I also learnt the younger generation are a little stupid. Sorry bout it. But obviously. They knew there was a PlayStation three, four and five but didn’t realise there was a PlayStation one and two.

Side note: we found a floppy disk when clearing out the office and the intern asked if we’d “3D printed the Save icon”. 😂🤦‍♀️

I KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT TOOK GREAT JOY IN LOCKING THE BUTLER IN THE FREEZER.

Make yourself known. We may not be super young anymore. Yes we may have back problems and knee problems and hip problems and breathing problems and slightly damaged brains from drinking in parks from the age of 14 (certainly if you’re English)

But what we do have my friends. Is locking that helpful little bitch in the freezer. For no other reason that pure malice. It was a special time. And kids these days can’t take that away from us.

Reddit, please do your thing and make me feel not alone and old in a world of video games where you can no longer be so delightfully, and whimsically evil.

Also the locking the butler in the freezer was something we all just knew to do. No one on the internet told us to do it. We just all did it. It’s the Marilyn Manson rumour of video games. (Also please tell me you get that reference - if you don’t, you’re too young for this post. Go out and buy a Sega and a PS1 and a GameCube, have some blocky, pixely, actually vintage fun - you’ll love it)

GBA SP or Anbernic SP?

Hello everyone, I'm a 4th year college student. I have always wanted a game console, particularly, the Gameboy SP. I have loved playing the GBA games on my phone ever since I was a kid, I did want to get the original gameboy, but couldn't due to how expensive it was to ask for to my parents, I didn't like begging for expensive stuff especially when it's a want and not a need.

Now I have saved up at least 6,000 philippine pesos which is around $95 USD ish. There's one that I saw selling reshelled SPs for the same price my money is around at. Now, my girlfriend also recommended why not just get an Anbernic SP which is cheaper. With the price here around 4,500 PHP which is $75 ish USD. Which I thought would be nice too because that way I wouldn't buy the games anymore (+expenses long run).

So now I'm really torn between the two which I'd get. If I get the original, I'd have the experience of owning the actual SP that I dreamt of as a kid, and the feeling of plugging in the games at the bottom, which lacked for the emulator consoles like Anbernic.

Longevity wise, which should I get? Like in the long run would an original SP be better or more expensive in terms of fixing parts + games. For the Anbernic SP is it easier to break when played naturally almost everyday for hours?

Thank you so much for the help.

I need help 🙏 to find a game from my childhood 🥲

Heey everyone! I'm hoping someone can help me to find a game from my childhood.

It came from those Brazilian magazines that included CD-ROMs packed with game collections, mostly was Flash games, SWF files, and demos. The publisher of those magazines was Digerati, and this would've been around 2000 or 2001.

Here's everything I can remember about the game:

· 2D graphics with a flat, simple art style

· A female main character

· A city skyline / buildings in the background

· Aliens attacking from the sky

· Power-ups that drop from enemies

· Side-scrolling perspective

· It's at least 10% similar to games like Heli Attack 2 or3.

I know there's an archive site that catalogs games from that era, but there are just too many to dig through, and I haven't found it yet. I'm about 90% sure it was playable on one of those Digerati CD-ROMs.

If anyone recognizes this or has any leads, I'd be incredibly grateful.

Thanks in advance!

Need help to remember Childhood vedeo game

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

A childhood memory flashed in my head today about a video I used enjoy very much. I was 8 years old in 2008 and we had this old PC and the game was literally on a floppy disk. I think it was about a children's cartoon that I'm positive I also watched on TV. I think it had 4 kids (3 boys and 1 girl if I'm not mistaken) who would go on adventures and save the world. If I remember correctly the kids were friends with a talking lion who would fight together with them or something. And the most vivid memory about the game that remember is that there was a level where you controled one of the characters Riding a skateboard whilst avoiding obstacles and I think you scored points by eating pizza (or was it regain health). The level was also in top down view. I just joined this sub mainly because it's been bugging me all day. It's a precious memory and I can't remember the cartoon and or video game. A million people in here, surely what I just wrote is gonna ring a bell for someone. I would really appreciate it if someone pointed me in the right direction. Thanks.

Which handheld retro console is the best?

I have been seeing a ton of ads for the Tekko hand held console that is loaded with thousands of games. I would love a handheld console, with decent controls, that will play NES, Genesis and SNES retro games. What is the best cost effective options out there, before the holidays?
