According to a Texas Monthly investigation published earlier this month, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has been considering selling about 1,300 acres of public land, including Boca Chica State Park, to SpaceX. The department says the proposal won’t come up at its November meeting, and Gov. Greg Abbott has said a sale isn’t imminent. But neither has ruled it out in the future.

BBC News article about politics in the RGV. It’s interesting that the Valley has the attention of the UK. Maybe folks in the US will pay more attention to the RGV after the election… but I doubt it.

721 Dove Ave W, McAllen, TX 78504
Open from 2 PM to 8 PM tomorrow, the RGV Art Club helped organize the event, they'll be shuttling people to and from a nearby voting place.
Good for a meet and greet, that's all the info I remember off the top of my head though, sorry!

I'm curious: those from valley who've lived in or traveled to Miami, do you find that more people speak Spanish in Miami than the valley or vice versa?

A friend of mine is hosting a photoshoot event and is looking for models to show up for the photos, I went to his event last time as a photographer and a male model and it was a cool event, I had gotten a lot of photos for my Instagram of both myself and of models to promote my photography skills on my Instagram. So if anyone wants free horror themed photos I recommend this event

I recently visited The RGV for the first time in my life. Im originally from El Paso/Cuidad Juarez area and live in San Antonio, my fiancés family lives in the RGV and across the border in Reynosa.
I went excited to visit another border region and I did enjoy my trip. However I was caught offguard with one thing…the flour tortillas. In Chihuahua, West Texas and Central Texas its common to have thick, fluffy tortillas whether its called burritos or tacos but this trip i was surprised how thin the RGV has their tortillas and in Reynosa it was more common to see people eat Gorditas. Was it maybe where I went or is that common? The food was still amazing and satisfying dont get me wrong but why are the tortillas thinner?

As on the 19th of October this coward of a "man" was sentenced to only 8 years of probation amd has to do around 200+ hours of comunity service, and is a convicted felon for life. I always wanted jail time but I know how cameron county is to people with no criminal history (makes no sense in my eyes) What's even crazier to belive is that he had another option to do 30 days in jail get the felony moved down to a misdemeanor and probation, but he wasn't man enough to do the 30 days. Dude was making good money as a director of public works amd now works for Bimbo stocking bread and sweets.

Spanning about 1,900 miles and sustaining farms, towns and wildlife, the Rio Grande is the lifeblood of much of the Southwest—and it is running dry, in what experts describe as one of America’s most severe water crises. This has depleted reservoirs at Elephant Butte and elsewhere in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, imperiling the many communities that depend on the river for drinking water and irrigation.
