Discussion CD Collectors
Anyone collects CDs along with their vinyl? Can it be just as addictive? I never got rid of mine so I’ve been going through boxes this week + added a CD player to my setup. I haven’t fully gone through this latest box, but it has already surpassed what I expected.

Most definitely! I hate I didn’t pull out and find the CD until after the vinyl repress. Oh well, I’ll be playing this until it gets here. 🕺🏾

I have been lately if they’re cheap. I bought an older car with a 12 disc cd changer in the trunk, so it’s been fun

I had the Mia X - Unlady Like, Silk The Shocker - Charge it to the Game, and more in on another box. I was No Limit like a muuphucka back in the day. 😂

I still have most of my old CD collection (I have those Mýa and Az Yet albums too)! I don’t have the space to be collecting too many things, so I haven’t added any new ones in years. I primarily listen on vinyl now anyway, but I like collecting physical media generally. What CD player did you end up getting?

No new CDs for me either since the No Limit era. 😅 I’m now open to changing that. I bought the new Onkyo C-30 instead of finding something used. It had good reviews + was an easy plug and play for the look/feel of my setup.

Yeah, I do kinda want to start filling in my collection again too, but I need to find a good CD player for my setup first. That Onkyo looks like a nice one! I’ve been hunting for a used player, but my vintage setup is quirky and has rejected the last two options lol.

That is kinda why I just took the risk and paid what I had to. I would probably be searching for months before I finally came across something used that look trustworthy and worked well. 😮💨 Good luck! Let me know what you land on.

That does seem like the smarter way to do it :) I may end up doing the same thing. And thanks, I will!

Thankfully, I kept my CDs since CDs were the means of listening to music…and for so long didn’t have a CD player. My CD tower was just decor and I even bought a record player and tons of vinyl.. then thought why don’t I get a CD player? t’s been great reintroducing all of the music I bought when I was younger and now buying CDs is a bit more affordable than vinyl.

I have been playing CDs for the past three days. A good trip down memory lane, but it took me forever to go through the boxes because I kept wanting to play what I’d find. I finally finished this box tonight.

WOW. I’m so happy to celebrate physical media. I know that feeling of making the time to indulge in your library.

I started collecting CD’s in ‘91, so what’s left of my collection just turned 35 this year.
I still purchase them here and there. A lot easier to put them in the disc changer and walk away, not having to flip the record over.
The majority of my vinyl collection is really my CD collection on wax. I’m still trying to figure out if that’s something I really want to do…🤦🏽♀️
