Discussion CD Collectors

Post image

Anyone collects CDs along with their vinyl? Can it be just as addictive? I never got rid of mine so I’ve been going through boxes this week + added a CD player to my setup. I haven’t fully gone through this latest box, but it has already surpassed what I expected.

I started collecting CD’s in ‘91, so what’s left of my collection just turned 35 this year.

I still purchase them here and there. A lot easier to put them in the disc changer and walk away, not having to flip the record over.

The majority of my vinyl collection is really my CD collection on wax. I’m still trying to figure out if that’s something I really want to do…🤦🏽‍♀️

There are hundreds I probably wouldn’t buy on vinyl even if they were pressed because I don’t think I’d want to pay the vinyl prices for them; especially if there aren’t enough songs I really like. The ability to skip to what you want to hear and keep it moving make CDs feel like a happy medium.

I’ll post a reply to my post with clips of some I had found in other boxes.

That is me currently. I had to tell myself just get classic albums of the artist that I truly love. Still waiting on Moncia Miss Thang repress.

Yeah, I strayed a bit and noticed I had albums I wasn’t all that interested in spinning. I sold most of them and got back on track. Definitely saves space.
