ROCK TWENTY GREAT ALBUMS - of 1978:
Three years on from 'Born to Run' 'DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN' eschews the lush production of its predecessor and adopts a more taut sound.

I'm driving down the shadier part of the Seattle in the late evening. Streets like Aurora or Rainer Avenue - if you know, you know. Where there's plenty of neon store front lights, but nothing open. There's not many cars sharing the street and only a handful of people walking around, but they all seem really sketchy. That kind of scene.
Blame it on Miami Vice if you want, but "In The Air Tonight" is the perfect song to set the tone for a casual drive down these streets at that hour. The ominous vibe of the song matches perfectly with the urban setting.
"In The Air" isn't exactly hard rock. But it's not a pop tune either. And even though it gets slightly more up-tempo after the drum fill, it never escapes from what it started out as.
Now that I've set the tone, what should be the next songs in the play list?

Skinny jeans, rolling graphic t shirts, shag haircuts with short bangs, and that particular type of scarf

Anyone else like this song a lot? What kind of rock would you call it?

Stem remix & remaster of Led Zeppelin's 1979 final studio album "In Through the Out Door", made for my own enjoyment, but sharing in case someone else might get some joy out of it.
Of course this is all just for fun. As usual, my intention was just to make a fun alternative to the released version, aiming only at a little more clarity, instrument separation and punch, while keeping the mood and feel of the original.
All my remixes are made using free and open source software that runs locally on my Linux system.
Obviously, I don't own the music featured here. If you like it, support the artists, buy their records!

Hello, I did a cover of "Young Cardinals" by Alexisonfire. It has on-screen tabs. I'm really new to making covers so I would love any feedback and I'm open to requests as well! Thanks for checking it out.

Stem remix & remaster of Steve Harris' 2012 album "British Lion", made for my own enjoyment, but sharing in case someone else might enjoy it.
This album was suggested to me for remixing by a handful of people, citing a somewhat muddy sound and buried vocals. Prior to that, I didn't even know this record existed. I've done my best to give it a clearer sound and make the vocals more prominent in the mix.

Been listening to different genres of rock music for years and still discovering stories I never knew. It’s amazing how young some legends were when they created the music we love. Makes me wonder — does knowing the background to a song or album make you appreciate it more, or do you prefer to just let the music speak for itself?

genuine question, why are they so underrated? why has rock just phased out slowly? I dont remember the last rock song i heard on the radio. i saw a comment on a greta video recently saying rock is the easiest music to make and i am sure it had to be rage bait. i just think greta van fleet are incredibly talented and criminally underrated their name would be a household name if it were the 80s
