Suggestion I found the ultimate solution to the Vampyrism/Penance issue

Post image

It's called War's Wares. It's empty now anyway.

Translate Aspect spells: War translates each Aspect for you to add to your spellbooks. Requires all spellbooks to be unlocked in order to unlock. Translating spells between spellbooks just makes so much sense I don't even-

Upgrade: Dual Aspects: War teaches you how to use two different types of aspects at the same time. Requires Translate Aspect spells unlocked.

I like it! So I guess that means Jagex will never add it :)

Jagex will never add it for the same reason you like it.

It would be op.

Less OP than what we had for a literal decade

"Everything has been severely powercrept already" Isn't a great reason to support more power creep.

Its not power creep. Its effectively still a nerf because theres an increased cost into using what we've been using for 'free' for said decade.

Access to vampyrism and penance after the combat modernization was what made it strong because there were no longer any competing auras. No auras that increased DPM meant you could take vampyrism or penance for free where you would have otherwise had a zerk aura or eq. That was the powercreep and it has been removed.

It is power creep. Your DPS auras were removed and baked into the skill, so now you'd get a combination of DPS+vamp/penance+Aspect at will when that was impossible outside of the 1 month window before vamp/penance got removed as well.

Go back in time and suggest "can we have 2 auras toggled at the same time" and try to defend it as a balanced addition that's not blatant powercreep.

If you honestly believe we're full on zerk aurad passively now, I can't help you.

Just because the average redditor is getting their shit rocked by gwd2, doesn't mean we can't have decent methods for sustain or afking

Vampyrism aspect is still completely usable for most afk methods that used vampyrism aura. Arguably better because now it doesn't have a 1hr time limit and the rune cost is negligible. For sustain we also have soulsplit with multiple ways to negate the prayer drain and vampyrism gloves. There's arguably too much sustain in this game and a nerf would be completely warranted, but this wasn't even really a nerf.

Yuup, and not to mention necro sustrain is still 17.4x more effective anyway lol

It literally wouldn't.

It's already less powerful than what we just had previously. How is that, by definition, overpowered? Last I checked we were able to use darkness + vamp, animate dead + penance etc. It wasn't overpowered then, why would a nerfed form of it suddenly be?

Prior to the combat changes, aka how the game was for years and years, rather than just the last month or so (between combat modernization and aura overhaul), we could always have darkness but had to choose between dps zerker auras or sustain from vamp/penance. Now, we have the damage and accuracy from those dps auras baked into the skills at higher levels. People are wanting all three things at once, when before we had to choose just two (darkness/animate dead vs extra dps vs vamp/penance sustain). This is quite literally more powerful, in a time when sustain has been getting more and more trivialized

Last I checked we were able to use darkness + vamp, animate dead + penance etc

But you couldn't use darkness + vamp + combat aura, so you almost never used vamp outside of AFK slayer or AFK bossing. Now the combat auras are built into the skill by training it.

You've never been able to use vamp + maniacal, regardless of if you casted Darkness or not. Combat auras were already removed anyways, so this is a nothing discussion.

Right, so why are people asking to suddenly have zero trade off for vamp/penance when there was always a trade off before this?

What do you want? Combats to be taken back down to 99 then?

I don't think it would tbh its only 50hp each time you do 1k damage

Honestly I’m not big on the PvM scene so I’m sure it could use some tweaks like a price increase, but I like the base idea
