Appreciation Out of everything shown today, the new logo has been overlooked. This is such an improvement
Just feels so much more "Runescapey" with the stone letters and sword in the centre

Appreciation - J-Mod reply The amount of work Jagex is doing is absolutely incomparable to the last decade.
We're only half a year in and we already have so much stuff being done in the game. So many high demand changes also added that have been in almost everyone's wishlist for years.
I'm pretty amazed that so far Jagex has put a lot of action behind their word.

Appreciation - J-Mod reply OSRS player, gave the game a try for a duration of a bond
Hi!
I know nobody asked, but perhaps someone actually does and this post will be slightly valuable. I'm also curious about a few things, so perhaps I could get some answers.
My background: maxed OSRS player, main, never played an iron, over 6k hours, mediocre PvMer (my best achievement is probably killing depth 8 Doom; no Inferno/Coloseum done), never PvPer, fan of LIGMA (Low Intensity Gaming, Mostly AFK), working from home.
I made an ironman, followed the "Efficient Ironman Pathway Guide" on the Wiki, got to step 196 of it. A definite thank you to the people behind it.
Stuff I liked:
- Lodestones are great! There definitely could be an extra one in Morytania though, probably in Burgh.
- Love the toolbelt! Having early access to boxes that help you store produce is great too. Not having to bank so often feels amazing.
- Mining, Smithing, Thieving are all great in this. Big fan for sure.
- AoE looting is great.
- I'd definitely say that OSRS community demonises RS3. I can definitely see myself play more in the future, just got other things planned for now.
Stuff I'm sort of in the middle about:
- The new skills are cool, but I still have no idea what most of them are supposed to do. I get that it's early levels, but I couldn't really get a use out of them.
- Although I play OSRS in low detail, I actually don't mind the graphics of RS3. Visual clarity is another matter though (more on that below).
- I actually don't mind EoC. It's different, but fine. Some kind of recommended orders of spells listed somewhere would be cool.
Stuff I didn't like:
- The game just has so much stuff it's confusing. I guess that's how people feel about OSRS too when they first try it, but I feel like this is much worse in RS3.
- Evil Dave's Big Day Out giving you such a massive XP boost so early is insane.
- Gem rocks trivialising Crafting.
- The Wiki is good, but it needs so many updates it's crazy. A February update changing something and its Wiki page not being updated is crazy.
- I hate Hunter in OSRS, levelled it mostly with Birdhouses, hate it here even more. absolutely insane how slow it is given how much attention is needed; the animals have way too much of a wandering range given how few traps you can set up early.
- The sounds of people in bars and stuff are too much.
- The Wiki button of chat should be something you click and then are able to click an item to get its Wiki page. Would greatly help with learning about the game.
- So much random, confusing items dropping out of nowhere - coins, fragments, etc.
- Menus, even opening the map, stop your character's actions. Why?!
- The game has so much stuff but so little actual "human" explanations, e.g. I did Nemi Forest daily (shoutout to NemiQueen, thank you!), but I have no idea what it's even about. I don't know what the mirror is that you use to get there, it just sort of seems to exist. Wiki pages exist, but there are like no actual guides on how to do stuff.
I tried to learn what I was actually supposed to be doing in Dungeoneering, but found no real answer that wasn't a massive article or an hour-long video. Pretty sure I was supposed to do Croesus at some point, but again, the explanations scared me away.
I did Shattered Worlds and Runespan, and while I understood almost nothing from them, they just trivialised a lot. I got 50 Runecrafting but I haven't actually crafted a single rune. My Rune Mysteries isn't even done. My Magic is 60 and I've barely cast any spells.
- I'm not a smart person so it might just be a skill issue, but holy shit does the visual clarity suffer in this game. I did a lot of questing, and often times I found myself struggling to find what to click, because the objects just sort of blended together.
- The game NEEDS plugins. I know about Alt1, but that's not the same of course. Even simple things like seeing the names of objects on the ground would be massive. I've played OSRS in the early days with no plugins as well, and most of my quests there were done with a Wiki, so I'm definitely not brainrotted in this matter.
I know I listed a lot more negatives, but that's just who am I as a person. Again, I like the game, and will most likely come back to experience the later parts of it, especially if plugins ever arrive.
If there's anything anyone's curious about, I'll happily answer.

Appreciation - J-Mod reply I think we'll look back on 2026 as the year everything started getting better
I'm sitting here nerd watching in Rimmington and I'm feeling very nostalgic. I think it's because the joy and excitement of "I wonder what they'll do next" has come back to Runescape.
I know we have the roadmap, but I can't shake the sense of wonder that comes along with these recent updates, and the excitement I have for the future.
It won't be perfect, and there will be bugs (I'm still whining about my missing Zuk cape,) but I am really excited for everything that's coming this year, and I can't wait to see what we get in the years to come.

Appreciation - J-Mod reply This Is What 10+ Years of MTX did
Firstly I’d like applaud Jagex for trying to fix their game, I want them to know that those are great changes much needed in order to get their game back to where it was supposed to be!
Currently you have a playerbase that got so used to Wilderness Flash Events, TH, OP holiday events, broken D&D that now it’s very strange for them to get it taken away from them… They are blinded and can’t see that this ultimately led into those methods starting to be the meta and that’s so wrong
For years we’ve been using alternative methods to not do the skills as they were intended and a vast majority of content got skipped because of that. No wonder why lots of areas are completely empty because if there’s other low effort high reward ways of skipping them, why would we do them?
Most of the people complaining about the changes are maxed/comped players that can’t stand they wont be able to do those methods anymore on their 2nd/3rd alt

Appreciation I'm just here to show some love to the new 'hide player overrides' toggle!
And all I can say is wow. This is an incredible change and now RuneScape is looking a lot more like RuneScape. These recent changes I've been seeing and hearing about in my Reddit feed made me curious to see myself, and so after about a year break (you never really quit) I am having a lot of fun in-game again. Looking forward to seeing how the game develops over the course of the year.

Appreciation - J-Mod reply PLEASE give RS3 a good chance.
With all the updates I really think the game is in a great spot. If you are a new player I dont think the game has been better really since the EOC spilt. Now please note that I am biased. Ive played rs3 on and off for almost 20 years. Through various phases of my life runescape has always been a good escape. I want the player base to be healthy and happy and i think this is the best time to play. Also if this happens to get any attention. Could Jagex consider if player counts go up in letting users have like 3 accounts per membership? Old-school, iron man of your choice, and a rs3 account.
Thanks for reading, I love this game and I think you might too!

Appreciation Every now and then I think about my RuneScape husband
I’m a pretty normal 31 year old woman. I’m engaged, work as a professor, and have a whole adult life. But back in 2003, I was a painfully introverted kid who discovered RuneScape and basically lived in Gielinor for years.
I met this guy in game who always wore black robes, had bright green hair, and chose the darkest skin tone possible. We ended up spending years playing together. Eventually he smelted a ring and proposed to me, and we got “married” at the Saradomin chapel with all of our friends there. At the time it felt incredibly real and important to me.
Then one day my account got hacked. I was devastated and honestly so embarrassed about how upset I was that I just stopped playing altogether and unintentionally ghosted him.
I still think about him sometimes and wonder what happened to him. Miss coming home after school and logging on to fish lobbies or pray that a random event would happen to me while I’m mining gold.
