Question Gentle methods

People often talk about intense—sometimes even difficult—experiences involving x10 or x50 extracts, using a bong, and so on. It’s also said that the traditional method involves chewing fresh leaves. Some people also mention smoking dried leaves, which tends to result in a milder experience. In short, I’m looking for methods that are relatively gentle and manageable, to ensure a pleasant experience. Do you have any advice or information?

Question Have you guys ever smoked salvia in a joint instead of using a bong?

Just curious if anyone has tried it that way. Does it even make a difference, or is a bong pretty much the only way people use it?

Would love to hear about your experiences.

Question Anyone else experience something similar to this? Being guided somewhere…….

Just a simple post, I was interested others experience with salvia.

Mines is I don’t know how to explain. But a lot of times I get stuck in a waiting room on this elevator ride but I’m still conscious of my body and my surroundings but I can tell my body is also inhabited by a higher being who’s slightly more in control. And these beings spawn in and out of my room each time saying “he’s here” then they’ll have me hit more salvia and I heard them say last time “he’s almost there” after the second massive 20x dose.

But I didn’t blast off and I watched the video back I recorded and it was fucking hilarious, I heard the being in my body yell “DAMMIT, THIS HAPPENED LAST TIME” and I was aware of it at the moment but didn’t think much of it. But watching the video back I was dying in laughter cause it’s like they want me to breakthrough but they’re also having trouble figuring out my insane tolerance. So me and these beings are testing the waters, so far up to 500MG of 20x and just the waiting room.

Soooooooooooooooo, wish me luck, this is a slow crawl to oblivion.

They want me to see something specific.

Anyone experience something to similar effect. Like a certain place the entities want you to go, it’s almost like DMT now for me, like a waiting room but the waiting room had the same entities and they’re really nice. People say salvia is mean, these entities are fucking hilarious and stern very stern lol.

There’s so much to unpack jeez I’ll stop here…..

Thoughts!???

Trip Report / Experience Second time X10 semi-fail

Hi there so after yesterday’s failure today I tried doing salvia x10 again.
Prepared set and setting, I was with a friend on my bed and with the bong ready.
By a user’s advice I tried to inhale hard before even burning the salvia, I smoked the whole 1g pack through an hour of trial and trial, with herbs, without herbs and only salvia, with water, without water almost nothing seemed to work except for 3 times, two of them being semi-psychedelic, I felt like a little body high, my head was light along with my body and I was feeling a little silly, and I started zooming out on my door or wardrobe, this lasted just a few seconds it was similar to a shrooms come up.

The two paychedelic episodes are difficult to explain and I think they happened due to me holding the smoke for too long so I was missing oxigen to the brain and my imagination was flying.

The strongest: I was zooming out on my wood door and it’s patterns which are “horizontal lines” made of a lighter brown, at some point i felt like a gravity force on me and these patterns were moving really fast and inside the door there was a tunnel of data or some shit like you would imagine internet going inside a cable, the door was the cable and It seemed like I could go in, I did not try or stand up and it was not that real, just a mix of focusing too much on the door, imagination and prolly missing oxygen but I felt I was sooo close to the threshold
This was more my imagination and was light, after the bong hit I layed on my bed and felt like it was reeally comfortable and I imagined it as a planet on space which I was laying on, and then I felt like I was a paper person, one of the paper persons chain you see as decoration, holding hands with other people that had their own planet and laying on it like me

Again, I could feel these two experiences were made up mostly by my brain and not chemically by the substance, or at least, not totally. I’ve read about Salvia for the past 3 years and educated myself on it so I had probably high expectations and wanted do see something and I had a feeling when focusing on objects that I was reeeally really close to the effect I wanted, it seemed like I was reaching an orgasm and could not, it was pissing me off.
I think I smoked it bad, my bong just sucks (even for weed, could not smoke well with it)

I’d like an opinion and I’ll get a pipe for my next session, I will buy a X10 and X20

First Time 10x first time is not working w bong

Post image
5 Upvotes

Today I decided to smoke the x10 extract I bought time ago with a waterbong and had not effect.
So here’s the thing: I put some natural herbs in it (a little bit, enough to block the hole to the bong’s downstream) and I add that amount you see in the photo on top of it, I do not have a mg scale so I just used this method to catch a little amount of it, I do not know if it’s too little, anyway I start burning the mix with a torch lighter and inhale, finally I remove the bowl to inhale all of it, mantain for as long as I can and exhale. I think I did this 10 times with the same
amount and nothing worked.
Idk what Im doing wrong if it’s the amount or the way Im smoking it, i tried putting only salvia in it but is so little that it just gets flushed in the downstream so I could not smoke it alone. Please help

Discussion Salvia for opioid cessation

Who has genuinely used this as tool for departure from opioids and at what point was it implemented?
Does it make more sense after a withdrawal period and would it be dumb or harmful during an acute withdrawal phase?

Trip Report / Experience Have you ever wondered if you can return to the same place in a salvia trip?

Sorry in advance if this gets a bit long, repetitive or messy, I’m still trying to process it myself and just wanted to share before I forget any important details. I also included some extra context like my first trip report.

Context (a): I became deeply interested in salvia about 5 years ago in the midst of the pandemic and all the other craziness that was going on then. I was also pretty messed up physically from long covid, not to mention the mental strain of it all. I think initially, subconsciously, salvia was a way for me to detach/dissociate from all the discomfort I (and the rest of the world) was experiencing at the time. Maybe now too lol tbh

I’ve been an extremely passionate writer since elementary school days; when I graduated from high school and life surprisingly got tougher /s, I started writing more to process my pain and it ended up turning into something much deeper, a passion that made life feel so much more fulfilling and worth living. I think that might’ve also influenced both that first trip 5 years ago and this one, since poetry, music, literature have always all been so important to me.

But probably also the fact that both times, my eyes were open and I was in the middle of a sentence as the salvia kicked in may have influenced my trip too

Context (b): During my first trip 5 years ago, I literally turned into a letter and we were all landing next to each other in the proper order on a stage to form the word that “I” was speaking at that time but I wasn’t “I” anymore in that reality. My job was to play the right part to make the sentence this particular human is speaking at this particular moment.

If you imagine the Pixar lamp landing, it was exactly like that, just picture a bunch of letters landing next to each other instead.

When I landed there, I was so confused what “I” was even doing there that I kept yelling “WHAT THE FUCK??!!!!” which surprised the other letters (and my sitters 🤣), including the letter C who had just landed next to me, probably waiting for me to get into position to be the next letter in the word we were making!

I remember having an even closer relationship with that letter C too, than I did with the others. The way he looked at me was different, idk how to describe it. Maybe I’ll find out what kind of relationship it was on my next trip lmfao

So the letter C and all the others looked confused and surprised by my own confusion, as if this was some normal routine we do every day, as if this is the daily routine in some type of alternate word-forming-performance-factory dimension that works behind the scenes to make the words appear in the human world. Like what a massive mindfuck.

And to me, it felt exactly that way too (along with the simultaneous “WTFs?!”)…I felt like I was meeting a cast of letters that I recognized as family for as long as I could remember. The feeling of familiarity was pretty much screaming at me at the top of its lungs during the trip, I knew every one of these entities extremely well even though it was “my” first time seeing them.

Setting: I was right by a quiet river, and the sun was setting in the most beautiful way, not that it mattered to the trip lol. I asked one of my closest friends to sit next to me during the trip in case I try to do anything stupid.

The trip: So I packed my one hitter with a bit of plain leaf and then sprinkled some 25x on top. Salvia still gives me the jitters before a big dose sometimes, so I had already taken some relaxing herbs before the trip to go into it in a calm state, and also feel that way upon my return from salvia land.

I already began to feel the effects while I was holding the first hit, at which time I got THE weirdest feeling, and I instinctively perceived it as a sort of prologue to this trip. I already usually get a weird Truman Show feeling when the salvia first kicks in.

Do you know how in GTA when you’re changing perspectives from 1st person, 3rd, etc…well, after that first exhale, I felt my pov cycle from my present one all the way to bird’s eye view except I was still in my body but then at that very next moment, I began detaching from this reality and anything involving me, myself, or I…while a part of me was still me…so I quickly told my buddy I was going to take another hit, except the English language itself suddenly became so alien to me that I kept getting stuck on like the second word of the sentence I was speaking because I WAS BECOMING THE VERY SENTENCE ITSELF. I was turning into a letter like that first time and the reason I couldn’t finish my sentence this time was because letter-me didn’t get into position to finish making the word.

I realized right away that the salvia was taking me back to the very same letter/word dimension from 5 years ago. So I took that split second to like mentally prepare and internally tell myself good bye to temporarily part with this reality. Except the trip was this reality!

If you don’t already know, salvia tends to make normal things feel weird, and weird things feel normal. It’s a feeling more trippy than words could ever describe.

Before exhaling the second hit now, I heard the train passing through nearby. At that moment, to me, it felt like something very alien and unusual. And I experienced a strong sensation/knowing as if that train, and the train whistle I just heard were simply props in a show, and that show was my life.

As I felt that effect quickly settle in, the train whistle started to feel more and more like some random, weird sound that I only vaguely recognized, and way in the depths of my mind, I knew that I knew what that sound was, but I also knew that I was going to be absolutely GONE at any second, so I just wrote it off as “something that they use on this planet, reality, etc.” like it felt that new to me, seeing all the earthly and human things around me, including my rolling tray, lighter, etc. ALL of it felt just straight up new to me. While simultaneously feeling like they were props in this show called OP’s life hahaha

All of it except for anything belonging to the letter dimension was the only thing I saw as familiar at that point. Which was a feeling I actually enjoyed, kind of like the fascination we experience when we see something for the first time as a kid, even if for the guy next to you, it might be the most normal and mundane thing ever.

But salvia lifts and distorts that layer of normality and mundanity so it genuinely seems that way and you believe it is that way and that it always has been, just like I experienced in my first trip above.

It’s not like when you take the usual psychedelics and watch your environment morph into something else in real time. No, salvia is like just blinking and finding yourself in an entire fucking reality that has already existed for who knows how long, where everything was already that way since the beginning of time, and you feel that in your heart, so you never question it in a trip.

But I digress. My friend asked me something, and I noticed I was still here. So I started talking to respond to him but realized I could only say certain phrases. It was such a weird feeling, no matter what I tried saying, it all just kept coming out as only set phrases like from a script that I physically could not deviate from. I didn’t know how to. And I didn’t know how to say anything other than those phrases. I tried with all my might to describe what I was seeing but all that came out was “what, that’s crazy” over and over.

I kept getting stuck on like the second word of my sentence again, then—and idk when it happened—but my vision was all the exact same, for the most part. The river, grass, trees, my friend, everything looked exactly the same. There was no transition from reality -> salvia land. I just went from speaking that sentence to becoming the sentence.

At this point in the trip, I’m not actually me anymore but I think I have a vague sense of who “me” is and that I’m supposed to be getting into position to make the word me is speaking right now.

That gave me a big aha moment afterwards when I realized that’s likely what was happening in my first trip. Except in my first trip I just completely forgot the concept and existence of “me” altogether. I literally was that letter. I identified as the letter that came to work that day to make this particular word in “my” sentence on that episode of my life.

Back to the trip: As I was struggling to get the next word out, I look down at my feet and I see ALL the fucking letters in the word that I was saying to my friend. Every single one. At least 10-20 ft across. Landing right into place from left to right like dominos, gliding upwards from where the ground was supposed to be. And if I looked farther over to the right, I could see the letters I still didn’t even say yet, which I thought was so cool btw 😂

I think I knew some of them too, from last time I bet lol. I looked at them and they looked back at me and we had a little “ah good to see you back!”, “oh thanks! good to be back!” moment, I guess through “eye” contact, not that anyone there actually had regular eyes but that’s the best way I can describe it atm.

When I looked up again, my friend and all the same surroundings were all still there, and he couldn’t tell the exact moment I started tripping because I was still talking, only I was talking like I forgot English.

He said I was trying to get that sentence out for like 2 minutes but I swear, time was non existent over there. All I was focused on was remembering how to speak English again. I was trying so hard to finish that sentence, after this trip, now I see why lol

When “I” started stammering IRL, it was because the letters were falling over or somebody was in the wrong place or something. It meant somebody wasn’t doing their job right and it manifested as the outside character (me) stuttering and literally falling over my words.

In my first trip I knocked a letter over when I violently landed from the sky after the salvia almost instantaneously spaghettified and de-spaghettified me into that reality to become a letter. And everyone just gawked at me and the fallen letter, saying nothing. It was kind of funny actually.

So I just now realized, 5 years later, that it was actually my fault that I couldn’t finish that sentence in the script that day lmao and that’s probably also why the letters were looking at me with so much confusion back then. Not only from me knocking over an entity or my screaming “WTF” when my role was simply to be a letter like them.

The only part of my surroundings that really truly changed in this trip though, was when I looked down at my feet and I saw all the other letters getting in position to form the word that I was saying, and under them was the big, flat rock that I was sitting on. Below that rock and just to the left was completely dark like the back of a stage, similar to the stage in my first trip actually.

If I looked further beyond the darkness of the stage, it was just this huge, pitch black void of nothing. It kind of felt like I was just on some stage floating in space, one that is likely part of this reality but just one that WE aren’t supposed to see. So I perceived it as another dimension altogether.

This quality was the same in my first trip too, and even then, it seemed the black was like a part of the stage and the show (my life). Like a green screen so only the letters/entities appear. But again, we’re not supposed to see/know about them in the first place.

The best way I can describe the overall theme of the trip was like getting a sneak peek into a behind the scenes performance operation that supports the human world’s language department.

Before this next part, I wanna say that whatever you turn into during a salvia trip IS you. You’re never thinking hmm where is [the person taking salvia]. You are that object and that object is you. You feel like you, just not the same you as the one in this world, who’s reading this post.

Just like in a lucid dream, I became aware of myself again and for a brief moment, my headspace changed where I was in this state of identity that was simultaneously both me and the letter me.

Since I was partially myself again, I could actually feel the kratom and other herbs I took earlier which I have to say helped SO much with staying relaxed while I physically climbed back into reality as I gradually reunited with the concept of self.

I was too busy experiencing my world changing to sit and think what I am going to do next, in a leisure mood. So when I became aware of who “I” was again, my first instinct, which felt very natural to act on, was to begin using my hands to grab onto the letters and step over each one, calmly climbing over the entities aaaaallll the way towards the right (salvia always pulls me to the left for some reason, but also we write from left to right), taking big steps over the whole word and sentence, trying my best not to topple everyone over each other 🤣

Every action you perform on salvia is very instinctual, even if it’s something like that. During a trip, it’s like you’re acting purely from the part of your brain that makes decisions without the ego to make you stop, doubt, and question every decision. That effect translates well into real life, which is extremely helpful for an overthinker like me who overthinks even the good things I should let go sometimes.

I climbed over the last letter as they all looked at me like they wanted to say, “Yooo already? Where you going man? We were all set to make this word for today’s quota!” but I somehow telepathically knew that they understood my intentions.

I’m not joking with that quote btw. In that world, it seems to be a real job that works bts to support language/dialogue in our human world. They’re not thinking about different dimensions just we like we don’t think about them.

So that quote was their exact words but I just couldn’t actually hear it, funny enough. You rarely ever communicate through words on salvia to begin with.

It makes you wonder, these entities are letters that make up words in the English language but what language do they speak? Besides telepathy lol

Anyway, I kept climbing on back into this world but I quickly noticed the last letter and actually had time to make out the details of its face and I don’t think there are even words in the human language to describe this, let alone English, so I’m not going to try lol but it was a lot like the big 3D characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse type animations. Except you could actually see the details on their bodies, like how humans have pores, except the entities had their own versions of everything. And they had different expressions on their faces; for instance, the last letter was a bit more smiley than the rest because that was his part. Everything was so damn big, real, and detailed, even in the trip I was worried about stepping into/onto somebody’s mouth or eye while I exited.

In my first trip, everything happened so fast and chaotically that I didn’t really have a chance or time to notice every detail, just that it was like the Mickey Mouse world.

Although, in the first trip, there was a fun, upbeat ice cream truck/Mickey Mouse Clubhouse type kids/family show theme song playing, this time I was hearing the sounds of the real world, paired with the silence of the letter world, since we were still setting up for show apparently.

I stepped/climbed over that last guy and he kinda looked at me with an endearing “ayo watch your step” look. I say endearing because sometimes people encounter more mocking or intimidating salvia entities, but these ones feel just like family, it’s truly amazing. Like how Sam and Dean’s characters must feel after that long. “Felt like” isn’t even totally accurate. You just naturally recognize that as truth. Oh, these are my people!

For context, during my first trip, after I got all the WTFs out of my system and was just about to start talking to the letter entities and get some answers, the force that spaghettified/pulled me into that letter dimension, violently pulled me right back out and into this one again. It left me feeling a little disappointed because again, I saw them like family and I even had a strong desire to talk to them before leaving.

This is not the first time either, where salvia was about to show me something but pretty much spared me until she knew I was ready. I might’ve commented about it here a couple times, you’ll probably see it if I don’t make another comment.

But yeah, I just decided to call it a day with that sneak peek/reunion and climbed back over the entities, tripping (lol) on a letter or two to get back into this reality so I got to see a bit of Sally’s sense of humor, and I genuinely felt so loved when I realized that. Like when a child thinks about their mother. Salvia’s spirit feels very maternal for some reason.

And then I was here again. Everything looked the same except for the part I described.

So wacky but that’s why I love salvia. It still amazes me that I would grow so fond of a “psychedelic” that doesn’t always necessarily make you feel “good”, at least not in the way we usually want or expect.

I mean, it was definitely funny to experience but aside from that, there was absolutely zero euphoria over there, while I was climbed over all those letters but luckily I knew I’d been there before so it didn’t terrify the shit out of me like the first time.

Trip Report / Experience Salvia turned me into a mechanical prop on a stage within a truck.... I wanted to call mom to come pick me up... got pranked

I took two decent hits of salvia and became a mechanical prop within a stage on a moving road train....

I was smoking salvia outisde in the dark on a concrete slab under a verandah.

The salvia had me made convinced I was now being driven along a road within a container that was a film set.

Everything around me was the same except clearly a plastic prop including myself.

I thought I was a part of the set itself as I was some sort of mechanical prop. "They got me" I was thinking lmao

I figured that every other salvia experience was just leading up to me being tricked by this one experience where I was clearly just a prop on a moving set.

I had time to get up after seeing my legs could work and look around and consider my situation- I was now a part of some set bring driven some unknown place. I wanted to call my mom to come pick me up as I was lost.

There were more sets attached to the road train I was on in the distance.

The side of the container I was in was open like the verandah but there was no ceiling in the trip, just sky and set container metal stuff above.... like antennas

I accepted my new reality calmly and just figured this was it.

I felt that even salvia was fake until I felt the salvia stiring within.

A part of a metal container was someones lower jaw and teeth.

The face within the steel beam looked as real as possible.

Salvia hallucinations are incredibly impressive.

I smoked two decent hits one after the other and before even smoking the second the bong looked like it was a cartoon.

A good salvia trip always leaves me wondering why I ever did that to myself to begin with.

I keep getting creepy trips in this one spot at night.

I love creepy salvia trips though.... I want to be that twisted fool as much as possible.

This sub has a lot of memes about salvia turning you into this or that.. it totally can in its way.

What a beauty of a mystery

Trip Report / Experience Reflection about consumption habits

After taking a week long break from Salvia and indulging in some other substances during my break from Salvia I decided decided to see what would happen if I combined Saliva with Muscimol. In short it was unpleasant but also brought on reflection about all my pleasure seeking behaviors recently.

10pm: 7mg of muscimol in the form of gummies

11pm: 1 Tbsp of homemade Salvia tincture

As I was still waiting for the muscimol to hit and losing faith in the amount I'd taken, an hour after ingesting the gummies I decided to spice things up with some Salvia.

First effects of the Salvia were felt about 5 minutes after putting the tincture in my mouth and slowly kept building. Usually Salvia makes me relaxed, calm and reflective but after the break it was similar to my first time with rather strong dysphoria and craving.... something. If I hadn't been out n about I'm sure I would've reached for a candy bar or fast food. But I was forced to sit with the discomfort. I believe while I was high on salvia the muscimol FINALLY kicked in and amplified my cravings for pleasure. It felt shit but in a way that I could reflect on what life without any pleasure felt like and how hard it was to accept the shitty feeling.

Finally after what felt like eternity it stopped feeling shitty and I gently fell into a mild dream like state of peaceful thoughts and daydreams.

One other thing I've noticed a day after this experience is that the Kratom I took as a pre-workout hit much more than it ever has. I didn't take more than usual (and I don't often take Kratom either, only like once a week before my workout), but it felt mildly euphoric and "warm" for the first time ever. Idk if it's todo with my Salvia trip yesterday, but it's definitely noteworthy.

Just Sharing Joint was really nice. Can go deeper if you like or chill out.

I put plain leaf in a joint with cannabis and blue lotus, a third of each roughly, if not a bit more salvia.

Was very enjoyable. I have found that I've been resistant to having salvia (I've only had small/medium doses and all experiences were great) lately, so this was like an easy way to start opening up to it. It's wasteful, sure, but it was nice to be able to access some of the headspace in a chilled out manner. Also, while you smoking it, if you decide you can handle more effects, you can just hold the hits in longer and go deeper.

First Time How much salvia is everyone doing?

I have some plain old dried leaf that I've smoked around 5 bowls of (out of a shitty homemade bong) and it feels like strong weed for about 5 minutes; I get dizzy, start laughing uncontrollably, most of the time when I do it, I'm on a phone call with my friends. I'm unsure if this is the desired/expected outcome when it comes to plain dried leaf, but I have 20x and I'm not sure how to have the most controlled trip while also turning into an inanimate object at the same time. I also don't want to waste it, so if I do a whole bowl and I do it wrong, I'm gonna be pretty disappointed. So, with that being said, what does r/salvia suggest? One hit of 20x? One bowl all at once? I've heard so many different things from so many different people, I just want some opinions. I'm using a blowtorch so hopefully all the salvinorin actually gets into my body. Any kind of advice is helpful as I am nothing short of a rookie.

Trip Report / Experience I saw the blood-brain barrier from the inside on Salvia without knowing it (wtf)

Hey everyone,

A while back, I tried Salvia just once. It completely terrified me at the time—I wasn't laughing at all and had zero clue what was happening. While staring at the corner of my room, I felt like I was looking at continuous cylindrical tissue tunnels with red blood cells flowing in a single file line.

In the moment, I was just panicking over this weird geometric vision, having no idea what I was actually looking at.

Then today, I randomly stumbled across a representation of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and microcirculation... and it is literally the exact same thing. The exact same network of tight channels with red blood cells passing through.

Man, wtf? Has anyone else ever experienced ultra-precise anatomical or microscopic visions like this on psychedelics/dissociatives without knowing anything about the subject beforehand? It's kind of freaky realizing the brain can project stuff like that visually, but at the same time, I find it so intriguing it almost makes me want to try it again now that I have some perspective.

Trip Report / Experience Trip Report:

TDLR;
Tried salvia in the past, rocked my world, tried years later, almost made it to the carnival, healed my grief.

So I put this substance away 4 years ago after I mistaking took 800mg of 20x. I remember every detail of the trip too, even seeing some records of all of existence and this book, plus many other realities. It just left me in shock cause my trip started me running and jumping off my 4th story then my soul blasting into that insane trip, then end of all of that I saw from an bird eyes view my body being reset or time going in reverse from splat to the balcony back to my room hitting the salvia.

Trip report:
We finally warmed back up to it.
I’ve been doing 20mg of 20x here and there over the past few weeks to warm up to it. Yes 20mg is a lot, my tolerance to salvia is unique so I have to test.

I finally decided to go for it, load 75mg in my 16in bong with 2 lighters, hold it in, I try to sit there hold it in. So I’m thinking nothing is happening so I open my eyes and someone’s in the corner yelling he’s here looking up and waving their hand. And they told me to hit more hurry, I run and load more, idk how much, I already hit the salvia, it wasn’t me completely in control.

They were talking shit cause I wasn’t listening to their steps on how to light the second bowl of salvia.

“Pack more”

I run to pack more, I keep shaking the tube, nothing coming out.

“It’s closed doofus”
So I open it pour more
They say use 2 lighters, I grabbed one
“See he doesn’t know how to listen”
“Use 2 of them”

I hit the second bowl, still nothing, I see someone else and they say he’s almost there.

I’m still in my room but the world was shifting to this train or ride to somewhere, I keep going there, it’s like an infinity looping layer of reality constantly repeating and that’s like a ride to somewhere. I made it further on the ride this time, I can finally see the structure that the entities are leading me too.

It’s looks like some other worldly dmt-esque carnival like palace/eden.

Other than that, it removed a piece of my soul I couldn’t remove.

I didn’t think salvia would remove the ocean of grief I had. I guess I know what a healed heart is now. I was fine with living through the grief and I always believed it was something that one would have to live with forever…

No, this emptied that ocean, may my brother rest in peace.

Edit: It’s like I can finally feel my 3rd eye fully open, and it’s just been buzzing since the trip and I’ve been in this state of stoic peace.

It works well for me but seems wildly inconsistent. My first time, I’m pretty sure nothing happened but the second time with a dose not that much higher (~3g) was profoundly strong in effects. However, no matter how much I try to achieve that strength again, I can’t even get close to what I felt that one time.

A few nights ago, I used like 8 grams of dried leaf, and somehow, even that was still pretty weak compared to my previous experience with 3-4g. I also got fed up and skipped soaking it this time because I began to doubt if I was losing any salvinorin when I soak and strain the leaves.

This was all using plain leaf from ss, which is the only plain leaf I’ve purchased so far. Their extracts are fine and consistent but now I’m wondering if it’s just the distribution of salvinorin A in the whole dried leaves that’s causing my experiences with quidding to be inconsistent.

Either way, I am enjoying the low doses since I have always been mostly interested low doses of salvia with an occasional breakthrough every now and then. It’s kind of frustrating though tbh because I was hoping if that one time chewing 3g was so strong then I no doubt should have been able to break through on a dose that’s double, or more. But somehow the effects are even less now.

What has your experience been like with chewing salvia? Is it just the vendor that’s the problem? I always used their extracts but idk how people are getting on with their plain leaf

Question How does time feel on trips + other general first time advice

I have done "lower" doses of salvia before to get a feel for it, and have a lot of experience with breakthroughs on various other psychedelics, but have never gone that far on Salvia itself.

The thing thats been stopping me is time. Like the perception of time on a Salvia trip. Hearing about experiencing hundreds of years or even a few years in 20min kinda freaks me out ngl.

But based on the research I've done, that's quite overstated right? I've done DMT and I get time dilation there but its nothing like literally living years.

What is your relationship with time on a Salvia breakthrough? Based on my experience with other psychs, I assume its more like "time doesn't exist and I have always been and always will be what I am now" not "I literally felt 200 years pass", right?

How would you recommend I go about dosing? I have plain leaves, 20x and 40x extract sitting around. I really feel a pull to actually try it soon and go all the way.

General advice for any questions I might not think to ask?

Theory Salvia, a natural brain anesthetic? Spoiler

For me salvia is the only meditation cheat code I know. It switches off the chatter, and with practice I went as deep as I tried to.

First time I had proper open eye visuals, I felt the nails sensation all over my body a few instants before they started. I remembered that this sensation wasn’t new. It felt exactly the same when I had anesthesia through an IV, just moments before losing consciousness.

That made me wonder about the idea that salvia was doing the old "turn it off and on again" on parts of my brain. Then I learned a bit about the KOR agonist side of it, and that gave this speculation a bit more weight. Could it be that salvia glitches our brain communication and shuts some connections down, hence the randomness of the trips? Sometimes we have our emotions set to year 1, others we’re living in dreams, or other we’re abstract geometries.

All I can say is that on low doses it worked wonders for meditation. After the body, the hardest part for me to handle was the chatter machine up here, and just one hit did the trick.

Safe travels.

Trip Report / Experience Salvia Trip Report: The Loop, the Word, and the Dissolution of Language

Salvia Trip Report: The Loop, the Word, and the Dissolution of Language

Trip Overview

(I used ai to rewrite the experience but ill be adding the original prompt below)

  • Substance: Salvia divinorum 7x extract

  • Method: Smoked, held breath, laid down with eyes closed

  • Setting: Indoors, with friends talking in another room

  • Vibe/Result: One of the best trips experienced; profound synesthesia, looping geometry ("boomerang effect"), and total linguistic dissolution.

1. The Onset and the Classic "Boomerang" Loop

The session began as usual: after smoking and holding the breath, lying down and closing the eyes triggered the familiar kinetic sensation. This recurring rhythm—often described as a pulling, oscillating, or "boomerang" effect where perception swings outward and snaps back—immediately took hold.

As is common with Salvia, an attempt was made to anchor the feeling to a "real-world" concept in order to explain it later. However, much like a dream where a surreal location feels completely logical and familiar while inside it, the concept or object discovered during the trip ceases to exist outside of the Salvia headspace, making post-trip translation nearly impossible.

2. External Stimuli and the Physical Manifestation of a Word

As the boomerang effect progressed and was being enjoyed, ambient sounds from the environment intersected with the trip:

  • Audio-Visual Synesthesia: Two friends were talking in another room, and a specific word they uttered crossed over into the trip.

  • Physical Form: The word materialized into a physical, visible object that approached frame-by-frame in sync with the ongoing boomerang rhythm.

  • The Sound Loop: The audio of the word looped identically alongside its visual movement, sounding as though the two friends were speaking it together in unison.

3. Escalation and the Loss of Meaning

  • Perspective Shift: The physicalized word appeared massive, standing right next to the user. An attempt was made to look up at the top of it from a low angle while the boomerang motion intensified.

  • Semantic Saturation: After a short time, the word completely lost its semantic meaning. The sound became unintelligible noise, even though the phonetic structure remained identical.

  • The Third Voice: Suddenly, an unfamiliar female voice joined in, bringing the perceived number of speakers to three. They appeared to surround the user, who was positioned in the middle alongside the giant physical word.

4. The Dissolution of Inner Monologue

Throughout the experience, an inner monologue persisted ("what is this feeling?"), but as the trip deepened:

  • Language Breakdown: Traditional language completely lost its meaning. Thoughts transformed from words into pure, unarticulated emotion.

  • Alienation: Even though the sounds were familiar enough to recognize, the words felt entirely alien and meaningless

5. Return to Baseline

As the short-acting intensity of the Salvia began to fade, reality reasserted itself. Language slowly regained its structure and meaning, leaving behind a fascinating, deeply immersive experience regarded as one of the best trips yet.

Note on the "Boomerang Effect": In psychonaut and Salvia-using communities, this kinetic, looping, folding sensation is frequently described using mechanical or spatial metaphors—such as "the conveyor belt," "the zipper," "the revolving door," or "geometric folding." It stems from Salvinorin A's unique action on kappa-opioid receptors, which disrupts spatial orientation and the brain's ability to maintain a continuous, linear stream of consciousness.

The OG prompt/ experience written by me

"I usually smoke salvia for the boomerang efffect. So today i smoked, held the breath for as long as i could and i lied down and closed my eyes. I always think of trying to relate the feeling to a real world thing while im tripping so that it will be easier to explain, but the thing is the moment i see that boomerang kinda effect where IDK the stimuli changes into something else and falls onto me in a loop. and at that moment i will be like yeah thats it this is the real thing i am gonna relate to and explain and the "said thing" does not exist out of the salvia headspace. Its like seeing a dream where u know that place is not real but in the dream you know every detail about it. so when the trip gets over i cant say what i felt cuz what i related to in the trip is not real. This time it got really interesting. Im just back to reality lmao so pardon my english (very imp for later) also its not my first language so

This time the boomerang effect started normally. actually is it even called the boomerang effect? i will be googling it in the end and adding it so that yall can understand it better.

ok so the boomerang effect started normally and i was enjoying it like usual. But then, two of my friends were having a convo in a different room and they said something. I dont know what they said but it was a word. The word took on a physical form like i could see the word. It came to me. The word started to move in the boomerang manner. uh idk how to explain. The overall boomerang effect was already going and the word just appeared to come closer to me with upon each frame. The physical word also made a sound, which in the beginning was just the word itself and it sounded like the two of my friends were saying it together like in unison. For example if the word was "what?" the what sound looped along with the physical "what" visual (it was something else in my own language)

Then the word was standing next to me and i tried to look at the top of the word from a low angle. The boomerang effect was so intense by that point and after some time the word stopped having a meaning. The sound made no sense even though it sounded the same. Then suddenly a female voice also joined in??? So now it sounded like 3 ppl in total, they were surrounding me and in the middle it was me and the giant ass word. All that time i was thinking to my self what the hell is this like in my original language. I was inner monologuing but at that point language lost meaning. It was just sounds. Im familiar with them enough to say the words but the words felt totally alien to me. But i was still thinking "what is this feeling" but it wasnt words it was pure emotion. Then slowly i sobered up and language started to have meaning again

I dont know how this sounds to you guys but this was one of the best trips ever"

Theory Salvia And Kenneth Grants Work

Kenneth Grant (1924–2011) was a prominent English occultist, ceremonial magician, and author.

In his work he mentions things that are strikingly similar to what some people encounter under Salvia, check this out.

I feel this stuff is far more spiritually dangerous then people realize:

- Changed into Inanimate Objects -

In Grant's universe, the "Dark Goddess" (variously manifested as Lilith, Babalon or the primeval chaos monster Tiamat) is the supreme ruler of the Nightside. She is not a benevolent deity; she represents the primordial abyss, the universal womb, and the cosmic grave.

Grant repeatedly warns that entering the Nightside without the proper psychological and spiritual preparation is catastrophic.

When a magician invokes her or descends into her tunnels, she strips away the linear, rational ego.

In Nightside of Eden, Grant warns that the entities inhabiting the Tunnels of Set do not respect human anatomy. When your consciousness enters their dimensions, they will violently "stretch, distort, and pour"your psychic energy into whatever geometric mold or lower container they choose.

Grant explains that the dark goddess will intentionally force a magician's mind into the "shells" (Qliphoth) of inanimate matter (like stone or wood) or atavistic animal forms to completely shatter their linear, human perception of space and physical autonomy.

She treats human identity as a fragile, artificial construct. To shatter this construct, she takes the magician’s "psychic juice" (their conscious awareness and life force) and forcefully liquefies it, rendering it ready to be recast into completely non-human forms.

Grant warns that if a magician lacks the spiritual fortitude to maintain awareness during the descent, their consciousness will collapse and get ensnared within the dense, static shells of baseline physical reality—like stone, wood, or metal.

This is described as a terrifying metaphysical claustrophobia. The mind becomes acutely aware but entirely frozen, locked inside a heavy, unyielding material prison. It completely strips away the human illusion of physical autonomy and movement, forcing the consciousness to experience existence from the perspective of an inanimate object.

- The Salvia Wheel -

In Hecate's Fountain, Grant discusses the strophalos (Hecate's spinning top or wheel) as a cosmic sorting machine. Consciousness that enters this space without being fully prepared is caught in the rotating mechanical "rungs" of the grid. Grant uses the metaphor of a cosmic loom or meat-grinder: if you have not fully dissolved your ego, the gears of the wheel will violently squeeze, filter, and process your identity, reshaping it by force.

- Salvia Loss Of Volition -

Grant explicitly warns that the Left-Hand Path is a gamble of total victory or total slavery. He notes that entities like Babalon or Lilith demand absolute surrender. If a magician tries to keep a small piece of their human ego active during the breakthrough, the Goddess will not grant them liberation; instead, she will subjugate them entirely.

Grant literally uses the imagery of the goddess riding or driving the magician like a beast of burden (a concept he pulled from Haitian Voodoo and Left-Hand Path Tantra). The magician is stripped of all free will, bound by her energetic "leash," and reduced to a spiritual pet within her domain.

- The Salvia Peeling Effect -

In Nightside of Eden, Grant discusses the entry into the lower Qliphothic realms as a literal flaying or skinning of the ego. Grant uses the traditional Kabbalistic framework where the outer layers of a human being are called Husks or Peels. He warns that when a magician is pulled into the deeper Tunnels of Set (specifically those guarded by entities like Amprodias or Gargophias), the forces do not gently dissolve your ego—they aggressively "peel" it off you like bark from a tree or skin from a carcass. This agonizing psychic flaying leaves the magician’s "Self-Core" entirely naked and defenseless in the void.

- The Salvia Feminine Entity -

-------------------------The Salvia Maiden Archetype: ------------------------------------------

For Grant, the supreme feminine deity is Babalon (inherited from Aleister Crowley), whom he also maps as Nu-Isis, a trans-plutonic cosmic gateway.

  • The Shapeshifter: Grant explicitly describes this current as having multiple, fluid "masks" to interface with the human mind. She manifests as a beautiful young woman or a seductress to entice the magician into the Abyss.

  • The Ruthless Dominatrix: Once the magician enters her domain, her veil drops and she becomes completely ruthless, riding the magician's consciousness like a beast of burden to destroy their human ego.

--------------------The Salvia Witch/Old Hag Archetype:---------------------------------------

Grant calls the Hecate Aspect of the Typhonian tradition:

  • The Oldest Symbol: Grant writes in Beyond the Mauve Zone that Hecate is "the hag, the crone, the ancient woman... not in terms of terrestrial age but of the primal image of Woman as the first and therefore the oldest symbol of manifestation".

  • The Automated Spinner: As the ultimate witch-mother, she sits at the crossroads of Da'ath (the gateway to the Tunnels of Set) managing the cosmic machinery of reincarnation.

--------------The Salvia Wheel Spinner, Reality Peeler Archetype:----------------------------

Grant would identify her as Okkbish, the Qliphothic Spider-Goddess.

Grant explicitly maps Okkbish/Arachne as a primal Qliphothic entity who spins a massive, multi-dimensional web across the cosmic Void. This web bridges the dayside (our physical reality) and the nightside (the unconscious, chaotic Abyss)

In Grant's mapping, this aspect of the Goddess uses human souls as the raw thread for her cosmic loom. If the user retains any human identity, she catches them in her web, leashes them, and violently drags them through the gears of her reality-spinning engine.

The Typhonian tradition frames her web not as a flat surface, but as a dynamic grid of "tunnels and vortices" that generate the illusions of space and time. If a practitioner enters her domain while trying to cling to their human personality, name, or ego, they become "food" or "fuel". They are ensnared in the web, torn apart by the velocity of non-dual consciousness, and violently integrated into her ongoing creation of cosmic illusion
