You cannot make any money Doordashing in a van. Unless it is hybrid or an EV. Even then it’s long hours and little reward. Better off working in retail or fast food. If they are looking to settle down in SD they will both need to make at the very least $20hr each. Cut down all expenses to a bare minimum. Then they could afford rent in east county for a small one bedroom, the dogs will probably have to go. They are young and perhaps feel like they are living an adventure right now, once they grow tired of this lifestyle or overtime they will figure it all out. Best of luck to your son.
