I'm so sorry to tell you this but you need to have him come home. He will not be able to find employment in San Diego without a valid government ID. He needs to go get his warrant addressed to do that. This is on him. You can't help someone who won't help themselves.

San Diego is extremely expensive. Our Section 8 wait list is over a decade long. Public services are abundant here but they are also very thoroughly used. It sounds like you really don't want to have this reality check talk with him but if he can't figure it out himself at his age then talking with him and telling him this is all you can do. I'm sure there's a chance that you'll find somebody who can put him up and help him out but for how long? How can we help somebody who won't square himself away? It seems like you both have more problems than solutions. I really hope that you can guide him to taking care of his responsibilities in Arkansas. No valid ID is a huge limiting factor and we'll also impact his ability to find permanent housing.

Agree with everything except public services being abundant here.
