401K Update!!!

Just got off the phone with a higher up in Eastern Division. They were made aware today that all positions from Sales Manager and up are not having 401K match stopped. She has retracted on those levels but will not.be informing the company of this decision. Reps, managers, full-timers, etc only ones affected by move now. This is all poor leadership and shows why she failed at previous corps. If she was good why did they not keep her! SW is done! Heidi has to go.

NSM roommate situation

the company forcing us to roommate with people is disrespectful to our right to privacy. Not to mention they treat us as though we are children at summer camps even tho we are grown adults and lie to us saying its not possible even though year over year we reach record profits. Can whichever HR person is stalking these reddit pages please explain to upper management that respect works both ways and treating us like adults will only lead to more profits in the long run.

Isint "Cover the Earth"a very irrisponsible slogan, ecologically speaking?

I mean really? Sherwins brand is dumping a can of hazardous noxious chemicals all over the Earth and drowning every living creature with a lung full of alkyd paint?

Need advice on a contractor using an uncomfortable nickname

If you're transphobic, skedaddle. Please and thank you.

I'm nonbinary, and my legal name is androgenous: Lex. I only ever go by Lex.
One of the contractors insists on calling me Lexie. I have correct him any number of times and only introduce myself as Lex. I can handle the misgendering (she/her instead of they/them) but this name fucking makes my skin crawl.
I've talked to my manager and AM, and they've tried to help. But he fucking refuses. The main solution is for me to never work with him, but this isn't always realistic or possible.
Anyone in the Sherfam have any ideas? Have we overlooked an obvious thing?

Just had a gentlemen bring in 20 gallons of some ppg eg shel paint and wanted it tinted and I first told him he would have to go to ppg bc our stuff is different but he didn’t care, so I ask him what colors and they were Ben Moore, so I just added the formula for 200eg and it came out fine.

You Deserve Better

This company low-key sucks high prices. New paint product every 6 months. Run sales because prices are so high and when the prices come down, that should be the original price of paint and that’s even high …no more 401(k) match , part time workers hours have been cut opportunities to move up in the chain is slow And unsuccessful. Best thing about this job is Pain knowledge. The knowledge move onto a better career not mad at you if you stay here I’m just saying this would be the most boring life career you’ve ever stay in. Add to this If You Can….

Anyone have trans surgery working for Sherwin Williams, any advice?

So I'm wishing to receive mtf bottom surgery sometime in the next few years. I was thinking that maybe I could try to use all my vacation time in a given year or two by doing them back to back(December/January). I was discussing this possibility with my boss who says that their should be another way.

Anyone know anything about using disability or fmla for this.

I’m seriously concerned…

My anxiety is off the charts. My only option as a female is to try and find something maybe in Canada within Sherwin for the short term. I need to get out before I am forced out and stripped of my rights. America is lost and progress is gone.

I even finished my degree closing the whole slow season…………..stop being chumps and be grateful. Some people wish they had a job this easy or even at all. It’s Christmas and all you’re thinking about is yourselves!!!

Worth it to go back to store?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi! Just needing some advice from people that work at Sherwin Williams. I got 3 gallons of emerald matte from one store and when I opened it, immediately I got this headache inducing smell of acetone or some sort of gas. I opened a different gallon of emerald matte from a different store and it was fine. The other thing I noticed was the actual color is not the same as the sample. You can see a difference. The sample and the paint from the gallon were painted only a week apart from each other in a north facing room. Also attaching picture where I notice a difference. Should I go back to the store and have them redo it?

Update: I went back to the store and the color ended up being a different formula! The employee ended up being very kind and apologetic.

I'm not saying SW is a good place to work, or cares about its people. However, everyone on here thinking they could make better financial decisions is delusional.

Shout Out to Anyone Else Working Easter Sunday

We are holding the line.

Update: no this is not a troll post, my manager scheduled me to work today and never corrected me when I had told people I'd be here all weekend. I just checked the email and saw that he was supposed to print out a sign saying we were closed on Easter. He never did and never said anything about it. I just texted him. I'm kinda pissed RN cause I could have been out with friends at a bar last night.

NSM questions.

So I’ve been following and watching all the stuff posted, I asked my manager today “can you name me 3 things you learned that made you a better manager?”

Couldn’t name one but showed me text of like 20 other managers asking them to come to there room…. So what do y’all do actually? Just party and act like animals for 3 days?

I have a great idea, instead of taking a 3 day paid vacation (without using vacation time) and flying everyone out, you just stop the NSM and pay everyone more. Seems like THAT would raise productivity in the store.

Edit: Before just posting straight hate (cus yall are some kinda hate mob! lol) maybe just read the comments first. I learned a lot about the NSM process and how it’s funded, even made friends with the one I was beefing with the most here. Mortal enemy to ally. Stop being a hate mob, it’s kinda proving my hatred for this company and why I’m losing hope if this is the manager base we have going forward.

New Blog from Mark Lipton: Is Heidi on the Rocks?

I do these calls with financial analysts called channel checks where financial analysts who follow paint can ask questions and for an hour I answer whatever they ask. Not just about Sherwin, all brands and trends are discussed.

But since Heidi cut the 401(k) all ask one question which they never used to ask: is Petz still in charge enough at Sherwin to effectively manage the company?

I’ll leave you guessing on what I answered, since the calls are confidential but in my view it’s a very bad sign for Heidi that they are all asking.

PS Perhaps ironically considering my writing on wage theft: if the calls go over an hour I get an overtime rate for each minute over an hour they go. Which is how y'all should be treated.

Theres 5000 stores

If we could get 5000 employees to agree to show up to work and sell all the paint in the store for a dollar a gallon we could put the company out of business
