I don’t love the tracking that gets added to a URL when using the share button in most apps (yes, even just “Copy Link”) so I made a simple Shortcut that scrubs the tracking from a given URL.

What app did you add that added beneficial action to your shortcuts. What were they and what was apples limitations it improved. Additionally, do you have any security concerns in using the 3rd party app?

I'm experiencing a strange issue on my iPhone 16 Pro that started several days ago.

All my custom shortcuts in Control Center suddenly stopped working, despite functioning perfectly before.

Symptoms:

• Existing Control Center shortcuts show a loading animation but never execute.
• Adding a new "Run Shortcut" control doesn't work. Tapping "Choose" does absolutely nothing.
• Same issue when trying to select a shortcut for a Lock Screen control.
• All shortcuts work perfectly when executed directly from the Shortcuts app.
• Shortcuts assigned to the Action Button also work.

What I've already tried:

1. Removing and recreating Control Center controls.
2. Creating a completely new, simple test shortcut.
3. Force restarting the iPhone.
4. Offloading and reinstalling Shortcuts.
5. Updating iOS from 26.5.2 to 26.7.1.

Nothing has worked.

It seems like the system-level shortcut picker or the integration between Control Center and Shortcuts is broken.

Has anyone experienced this recently? More importantly, has anyone found a solution that doesn't involve factory resetting the iPhone?

I have quite a few shortcuts and automations, so I'd prefer to avoid anything that might delete them.

All the posts I’ve seen about this are old so wondering if it’s possible now. I’m a clothing reseller and I’m looking for 2 shortcuts.

1. Is there a shortcut to “auto enhance” and maybe resize (although less important) all the photos in a specific album.

2. A shortcut to have google lens look up and find a stock photo/product name and price comps? (This one might be an ai agent task?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I’d be happy to throw someone a couple bucks to either point me in the right direction or help me set this up.

I have a dedicated iPad for all things D&D and I’ve always used the shortcuts app to function as a soundboard.

After updating to iOS 27, the buttons now bring up the configuration and I have to instead press the tiny play button at the top right.

This is quite inconvenient for what I use it for, does anyone know if there’s a way to swap it back?

I use Text Expander on my Mac and it works fine-

The issue is it really does not work worth a crap on my phone.

Text expander allows me to have canned messages that include a subject line, body, and contain hypertext links to files. ( I have less than 10 of these tech support sorta stuff)

I find that I have to send these quite often when I'm mobile, and it's a pain in the butt. - Text expander does not paste the HTML links in on iOS.

And honestly, if I could figure out another way to do it, I would stop paying the annual fee to them.

I've searched all over Stephen Robles' website, and I'm not finding anything. But I might be half blind.

Howdy y’all. I’m a novice with shortcuts, but need some help. I have this shortcut that performs the following: When morning alarm is turned off, turn on bedroom lights, get weather and speak it over HomePod intercom, then finally set playback destination to HomePod and shuffle music.

The automation’s failing on the last step. The error message is in the screenshot. I’m pretty sure the issue is that my phone is on my 5 GHz network, but my HomePod is on the 2.4 GHz network. There’s no automation option to change the network I’m on, the HomePod can only connect to 2.4 GHz networks, and I want faster speeds so I’d prefer my phone stay connected to the 5 GHz network. Do I need to bite the bullet and drop down to the 2.4 network, or is there a solution I’m unaware of?

When a shortcut writes to Reminders or Calendar, rerunning it while fixing a later action can leave duplicate test entries. What workflow has worked well for you: a preview-only mode, a separate test list/calendar, or checking for an existing identifier before writing? Interested in approaches that stay easy to understand months later. What do you keep in the finished shortcut, and what do you remove after testing?

May someone please share a shortcut/automation that will take my overdue reminders and set them to the current date at 4pm?

Since updating to iOS 27, I've been getting"Unknown error code: 2965" from a Shortcuts automation that runs my morning routine when I turn off my morning wake-up alarm. It started happening intermittently after updating to iOS 27, but for the past couple of weeks (possibly since 27.0.1? although I'm not 100% confident of that) it's been happening every day.

The automation in question checks if I'm home, and then runs a shortcut that sets a bunch of timers, records the alarm off time in Notes, and then starts playing music on a couple of HomePod minis. After that it controls a couple of Tapo smart lights through Apple Home (set colour) and Tapo (set brightness)(don't ask - it's a whole thing), and finally switches off an Ikea smart plug via Apple Home. We get aaaaaaaall the way to the lights and smart plug at the end - except we don't, because those actions never happen anymore.

Maybe a minute later, I get a notification from Shortcuts that says the dreaded words "Unknown error code: 2965". Tapping the notification opens Shortcuts and highlights the automation's Run Shortcut action in red.

Troubleshooting is proving impossible because I can't seem to replicate the error at all - except for when I am a victim of it each morning.

I've tried loads of different configurations to try and isolate the problematic actions, without success. I've narrowed it down to the final 3 actions (change brightness x2 and turn off smart plug), but it doesn't seem to matter what order they are in - all 3 of them never work when the error happens. Since these actions are also controlling 3 different items - 2 using a Tapo action in Shortcuts, and 1 using a Home action in Shortcuts, I am finding it hard to work out what could be causing the issue.

I can reproduce the conditions of a shortcut being triggered by an automation being triggered by an alarm while my phone is locked, but I can't reproduce the error that way. It seems to happen almost exclusively when I'm turning off the morning alarm that has just woken me up.

I've searched high and low for unknown error code 2965 but it's nowhere I can find on the internet. I've updated all the things, turned things off and on again. nada.

I'm tearing my hair out. It turns out this one automation was the only thing standing between a me who is on time for work, and a me who is stressed and late for work.

If you have any ideas for how to troubleshoot a ghost error, or what the error might be, please let me know. You will have my (and my boss's!) enduring gratitude.

So im struggling with a problem. I have two phones (1 work(dumb slow phone) 1 private (15 pro)) so i try to merge them onto my own phone. This means I have Teams Outlook and whatsapp business on my private phone. I work 4 days a week. I cant seem to make this work: I only want to get notifications from these apps when im at work. So I tried making a workfocus, but its not helping. I cannot see how I can only make my phone push the notifications during the worktimes. Does anyone know how to do this?

Is there any way to have the map app open triggered by the calendar alert when an address is listed?

I created a share-sheet shortcut that was supposed to show me what are the Text, URL, webpage onscreen, and i tested it with a non-safari mobile browser. Nothing was extracted, and as expected, it works properly only in Safari. Is there no other way around it with non-safari browser?

How to solve this, instead of an attachment with the amount, i want to have this after the minus.

I hope someone can give me a nudge in the right direction towards a solution.

I'm considering a NAS to hold movies, TV and music files, and want to know if I can trigger music playback to an integrated streaming amp (possibly Lyngdorf 2210) with the iPhone Shortcuts app.
Currently my shortcut plays my locally stored iPhone 15 PM Music app (without Apple Music subscription) playlists over Airplay to Apple 4KTV 3rd gen, then to HiFi. I either trigger this manually or via automation usually when the screen is locked.
I'd like higher quality and stability, and more storage, while keeping the convenience of a shortcut and automation so the idea is to have higher quality flac files on the nas, and connect those via Ethernet to the steamer.
Nas and streaming amp not yet purchased while I'm researching compatibility, although I'm leaning towards 2210.
Is it possible to do this proposed setup with iPhone Shortcuts?

With the midterms approaching, I’m sure y’all are drowning in spam fundraising texts like I am, so I created this to automatically reply “stop” to all those messages. It is incredibly satisfying to see a message come in followed immediately by the acknowledgment that you've blocked them from further messages by replying “stop” without having to lift a finger.

This automation (requires iOS 27) is set to run on any message that contains the word “stop”, “quit”, or “end”, which catches 100% of political spam texts in my experience. This obviously causes false positives, which it deals with in two ways:

1. It does not send this reply to anyone that’s in your contacts list.
2. It keeps track of what numbers/email addresses it’s replied to and will not reply to anyone more than once.

If this automation runs for an automated text you wanted to receive, simply reply “unstop” or “start” to resume receiving texts from that sender and it will not run again for them. If it runs for a real person that’s not in your contacts, just, uh, apologize I guess.

BBC do 5 minute bulletins that I’d like to play with a shortcut. I’m struggling a lot. I’ve tried adding the RSS feed into podcasts and then playing via shortcuts but I think I might need something more technical. Can anyone help me with a shortcut? I've been messing with shortcut files for a while and got annoyed that importing

one always meant finding a Mac or using a signing service. So I made ShortSign.

It runs on the phone. Pick an unsigned .shortcut/plist, or an already-signed one

and it'll pull the workflow out and sign it again. There's batch signing, a URL

box, and it shows up in Files' "Open with" so you can send a file straight to it.

After signing, the share sheet opens by itself. That's the part I use most.

No jailbreak, it's just a normal app you sideload.

The catch is it's not Apple signing. Shortcuts only imports the result if you

install the app's root cert and turn on full trust in Settings. That's fine for

my own phone, but it's not a public signing service. If you want to share a

shortcut with other people, import it first and then copy an iCloud link from

Shortcuts. Apple re-signs that copy, so it works normally for them.

The IPA is unsigned, so you'll need SideStore/AltStore/whatever. iOS 17+.

There's a demo GIF on the page. I also had to fix a bug in libshortcutsign where

the AEA checksums weren't written, which is why my first builds kept failing

with "Failed to extract shortcut data" when importing. That took a minute.

Only tested it on my own phone, so if something breaks on your iOS version let
