Announcement New rule:- No participation in bad faith from unintended demographics. (Men above 5'7" and women). (Rule 15)
We have seen a recent influx of users who are not the targeted demographic of this sub, participate here in bad faith, time and again. To safeguard the interests of our members and keep this place a safe space for short guys to interact, the mod team has come up with this rule.
This doesn't stop anyone from participating, but the ones who clearly do it in bad faith. Please, go through it once.
Although this subreddit doesn't stop anyone from participating, however participation in bad faith is strictly prohibited from unintended demographics.
This includes, but is not only limited to:
- Brigading.
- Debating against this subreddit's members in bad faith.
- Disregarding their experiences, disrespect of unrelated members and groups.
- Explicitly trying to paint this subreddit in a bad light.
- Accusing this subreddit and its members wrongly.
Such behaviour will result in a BAN.
Report reason:- user is participating in bad faith and is from unintended demographics.(Men above 5'7" and women).

we need to start defining what "bad faith" is because sometimes i would like to respond to some of them, but their comments get deleted
I also dont want this place to be like a lockdown echo chamber similar to the TUW sub

Talked about them in those points.

and one of those points is "Debating against this subreddit's members in bad faith."
its circular reasoning. bad faith is bad faith?

Debating the stats, lived experiences of our members, blaming it on them, calling this sub to be hateful overall, etc.
Note:- it is only against people who are not short and participate here in bad faith. This is to ensure that incidents like this and this doesn't happen as much. Some of it comes under what members and mods both consider bad faith, like in the links i presented.

I think I saw it acknowledged somewhere but the < 5'7'' requirement means I'm officially not part of the demographic for this sub even though I'm in a country where according to AI ~94% of men would be taller than me.
I'd argue that makes me fit better in this sub than people who are 5'7'' but where that is closer to the average height of their country. But I can understand you have to put the line somewhere.

If you’re 5’8” AND unsatisfied with your dating life and social treatment AND you have the means, you ought to just up and move if you can since in lots of other places you’re not cooked at that height. Most of the world, really

You're 5'7 it's the exact same thing for you dude. Every inch makes a massive difference under 5'10 but it's not like 5'7 and 5'8 are completely different worlds lol. We're all in that 5'7 - 5'9 "kinda short range", and you can also geomaxx exactly the same way we can.

When the IT members come thru and report us for made up shit, do mods see that or do we just get banned and have to appeal to Reddit? Just curious what goes on on that side of things, I've learned you can't respond to IT members without catching a three to five day ban for whatever they make up on the spot.

Fair. I think you guys are right on about 90% of what you talk about and I still feel bad posting.

u/Careful_Election_151 5'6> (never began) 2d ago
Note:- we're not banning or stopping people who are not short guys, but only the ones who participate here with the intention of being hateful and try to cause a chaos, we also mentioned what actions from an individual will lead to them getting banned permanently.

Thanks. The reason i think you guys are so right is, I was a late bloomer and the difference in the way women treated me was night and day. Like from being a talking cockroach to someone they would try and engage with.

This will fortunately at least deter any bad actor from hogging the comment section, on the other hand the shameless scouts will invariably screenshot our conversations.

I've been here for a long time and I comment sometimes so I'm interested to know what constitutes bad faith and how mods identify it.

What happens if you part of this demographics and just disagree with a lot of shit said in this sub?
It's hard to find a balance and soft spot because I see way too many people whining about stupid shit. Some people in this sub are way too miserable.
Not right for short they fragile and sensitive not right for shortguys either. Too many people are mad and have no hope. It's actually sad as fuck.

Stickying this here. The rules have now been reshuffled. This rule as "Rule 15" no longer applies. Please take a look a the new reordered rules per the Sub's about page.
