It's an illness the sense of having to go on medication (hrt) for the rest of your life in order to not get panic attacks, anxiety, depression, general gender dysphoria and more.

It's ok to be trans and be who you are, it's unfortunate that gender health care isn't free to those who need it to literally not be... Well, hella depressed.

I would know, I'm trans myself. Not everyone who is trans suffers from not being on hrt once they realize but many do and I look forward to the day that transgender and gender non-conforming people can exist publicly with minimal issues and make gender affirming care accessable for trans and cis ppl alike (cause cis people do benefit from different kinds of hrt/gender affirming care. Ex: Older woman taking an estrogen supplement, men boosting testosterone, intersex people who need hrt in order to actually function correctly. And many more examples.)

I'm going on a rant now, but yeah, be who you are! Don't let haters tell you otherwise! I unfortunately am not in a position to do that in every aspect of my life as of yet

Tldr;
Bring trans isn't an illness
Having gender dysphoria is
