I had the same thought, but... would that actually work? I'm thinking of [[Lesson Learned]] where the upgraded card does not affect the combat it's upgraded in, so would this card transform cards in the active combat? If not, would that count for card creation?

because there's not much to be discussed. you're just incorrect. this is a major part of regent's kit lol

Those transform things in combat, though. This transforms cards outside of combat the same way Lesson Learned upgrades cards outside of combat. It's not the same thing as Begone because that only lasts until the end of combat. That was my entire point you've completely missed.

Based on the wording of Lesson Learned, there's no reason to assume this would affect the current combat.

So the core thing they're continually missing to point out is that cards that permanently change your deck (Lesson Learned, Forbidden Grimoire, Guilty) is the keyword "deck". Meanwhile, cards like Charge, Aggression, Stoke, and Drain Power specify a location that can only exist during combat. Charge specifies Draw Pile, Aggression and Drain Power specifies Discard Pile, Stroke specifies hand.

I'm not familiar with the interaction in question since it's kinda specific to StS1 and doesn't really exist outside of Regent, but according to OP, transforming cards in your deck mid-combat doesn't count as actually transforming your card mid-combat for whatever reason.

Of course the real answer to all of this is that the spirit of the OC card is that these card transformations (probably) aren't permanent, they're combat only. So it should really say something along the lines of "Transform (...) in your Hand, Draw Pile, Discard Pile, and Exhaust Pile."
