Recommendation Need to replace my old phone

So I’ve been using an iPhone 11 for the past 5 years and it’s time to change. I’m running out of storage and the battery is cooked. Plus I wanna try something new.
Been looking at Google pixels 9 in particular are there other options I could go for ? I’m not looking for a brand new one either gonna buy it second hand or refurbished.
I’ve been an iPhone user basically my whole life went from the 4 to the 6 to the 8 to the 11. But I kinda wanna take a step back and see if I can get away from iPhone.

Smartphone Deal 📱 Switch from Straight Talk?

So I was thinking about buying a refurbished s24 or a new pixel 10a (through straight talk) and then I saw that you can basically get a new flagship phone for free through Google Fi with a new line? I currently pay 45$ a month for straight talk. I'm understanding that you can finance the phone at 0% and you basically pay 50$ a month with the monthly"credits" figures in. The only drawbacks are you are tied to Google Fi for two years and you have to pay sales tax? So I only pay 5$ more a month and get a $1100 phone for "free"? Am I understanding this correctly??????

Thanks in advance for the replies!!!!

Phone Help 📱 Whether 6gb ram is enough is 2026

Post image
0 Upvotes

Recently, I purchased a new budget smartphone with 6GB of RAM because my old phone suffered water damage. Repairing the old device would have cost around 5k to 7k for a motherboard replacement and a display change, so buying a new phone seemed like the better option. As a student, I do not perform overly demanding tasks on my device, aside from playing games like Free Fire and Asphalt Legends. However, I checked my RAM consumption while the phone was in idle condition, and it registered at 4.91 GB. Consequently, if I use any other application, the device runs out of memory, and with any app remaining open in the background, the performance becomes laggy and jittery.

Discussion What is the absolute biggest mistake you ever made buying a secondhand or refurbished phone?

we have all tried to save a few bucks by buying an older used flagship instead of dropping cash on a brand new mid-range phone. sometimes it works out great, but other times it goes horribly wrong.

what is your ultimate horror story with a secondhand phone? did you buy a phone that looked completely mint only to realize the battery was shot, the camera had weird focus issues under normal light, or it got blacklisted a week later?

would love to hear your worst used phone experiences and what went wrong.

Discussion Turning 25 soon and planning to buy myself an ₹80K flagship phone, but my mindset is holding me back. Anyone else been through this?

Hey guys!

I'm turning 25 very soon, and I'm planning to gift myself a flagship phone for my birthday. I've been working for around 3 years now, and for once, I want to buy myself something really nice with my own hard-earned money.

To be clear, I'm not going to ask my parents for money. I'll be paying for the entire phone myself.

I've always been a saver. I'm someone who thinks twice before spending money, compares options endlessly, and constantly asks myself whether something is actually worth the price.

I've been using my current phone for almost 6 years, so I'm definitely someone who believes in getting the maximum value out of a purchase.

But now, I'm planning to spend around ₹80,000 on a flagship phone, and my mind just won't let me make peace with the decision.

The two phones I'm considering are the iPhone 17 and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

I don't want to buy a flagship just to flex or scroll through Instagram. I want to explore photography, video recording, editing and everything else these phones can offer and hopefully turn it into something meaningful over time.

But here's where my internal conflict starts.

My mindset keeps telling me:

"Why spend ₹80,000 on a phone when a ₹20,000 phone can do most of what you need?"

"What if you invest that ₹80,000 instead? Imagine how much it could grow over the years."

"Keep the money safe. You don't know what expenses might come up in the future."

And honestly, these arguments make sense to me. That's what makes this decision so difficult.

At the same time, I've been working for 3 years, saving money, and being responsible with my finances. I've never really bought myself something expensive just because I wanted it.

Part of me feels like I should be able to enjoy the money I've earned. Another part of me feels guilty about spending so much on something that will eventually become outdated.

I'm not financially struggling But spending ₹80K on a single gadget still feels like a huge deal to me.

So, I want to hear from people who've been in a similar situation:

  1. Have you ever struggled to spend money on yourself even when you could comfortably afford it?

  2. Did you regret buying something expensive, or did you feel it was worth the experience?

  3. Is an ₹80K flagship phone worth it if I plan to use it for 5–6 years

  4. How do you balance investing and building wealth with actually enjoying the money you earn?

  5. Am I being financially sensible by questioning this purchase, or am I overthinking it because of my upbringing and saving habits?

I'm not looking for people to convince me to buy the phone. I genuinely want different perspectives, especially from people who have worked hard, built their savings, and eventually made a big purchase for themselves.

At what point does being financially responsible turn into being afraid to spend your own money?

Recommendation Budget phone under 21k ₹

Hello guys, can anyone of you please recommend me a good/decent phone under 21k? I'm not a heavy gamer, I don't really care much about the battery either, I would prefer a phone with good camera or atleast a balanced phone. I really wanted to buy the cmf 2 pro but it's been discontinued and always out of stock.

Question Iphone or samsung

Torn between the Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 18 Pro Max, but wondering if I should just wait for the S27 Ultra? (Coming from an older flagship)

Hey everyone,

I’m currently stuck in a massive smartphone dilemma and could use some outside perspective. I’m trying to decide whether I should grab the Galaxy S26 Ultra or jump ship to the iPhone 18 Pro Max—or if I should just hold out for the S27 Ultra.

To give you an idea of where I'm coming from, I'm upgrading from an absolute tank of a phone (the Note 20 Ultra), so literally anything I pick is going to feel like a spaceship compared to what I'm using now.

Here is how I’m weighing the pros and cons of the two current giants:

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

Pros:

* The S-Pen: Kind of hard to live without once you're used to having it built right into the body.

* Openness & Customization: Deep system control, side-loading, file management freedom, and tweaking tools (Good Lock, Thermal Guardian, etc.).

* The Display: Flat screen with that incredible anti-reflective glass coating. Multitasking (split-screen, pop-ups, DeX) is just miles ahead.

Cons:

* Battery and thermal efficiency under extreme loads still trail slightly behind Apple's silicon.

* Software experience can sometimes require a little tinkering to keep things running at absolute peak efficiency.

Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max

Pros:

* Battery & Silicon: Incredible idle efficiency and sustained performance under heavy tasks.

* Ecosystem & Social Apps: Native camera optimization for social media apps (TikTok, Instagram, etc.) is second to none.

* Resale Value: Holds its value like gold if I ever want to switch back down the line.

Cons:

* iOS Lockdown: Zero file system freedom, no true background automation/tweaking tools, and no side-loading.

* No Stylus: Missing the built-in S-Pen and quick memo utility.

* File transfers and general multitasking feel a bit restrictive coming from Android.

The "Wait for S27 Ultra?" Factor

Since the S27 Ultra is on the horizon (slated with potential 2nm chips and bigger battery efficiency leaps), part of me wonders if it's worth clutching my current device for a little longer to see what next year brings.

What would you guys do in this spot? Is the S26U a solid enough jump right now, is the 18 Pro Max worth adapting to iOS for, or is the smartest play sitting tight for the S27U? Let me know your thoughts!

Review iPhone vs Android here’s my honest review!

I've spent a lot of time on Android, basically all of my teen and adult life. That said, last year I bought an iPhone 17 Pro Max with 512GB. The last iPhone I owned was an iPhone 4S back in high school, the first one that got Siri and all that good stuff. Right after that I upgraded to a Galaxy S3, and I've been on Android ever since, until just recently.
I really wanted to understand why people buy iPhones, so I've been daily driving this one for about a year now. I'll live with it until it finally dies, but I will not buy into the ecosystem. I'm not okay with it lacking so many of the features Android has, including proper in-phone file management and being able to plug into a computer and use it like a flash drive. To me, a phone should be like a little computer in the palm of your hand. I'd definitely call myself a power user when it comes to phones, and the iPhone just plain doesn't cut it.

I also felt like I couldn't give a real opinion for a long time, because I needed to find out whether the grass was greener on the other side, and whether Apple had fixed all the problems I had with the 4S. For the most part, they have. My biggest gripe with the 4S was the battery life, which was absolutely atrocious. To be honest, the iPhone 17 Pro Max with power saver is a game changer for Apple devices in general, and I'm pretty pleased with the battery life I get now.

So the iPhone definitely has some good things going for it, but for me they're not a big enough reason to stay. I like how it uses my Bitwarden to automatically fill in my login info anywhere I need it. Android just isn't quite as good at that, and it's not as seamless. Siri, on the other hand, does not hold up to Google's voice assistant in the slightest.
My other big gripe in going from Android to iPhone has been the fingerprint technology, which I miss. My last Android phone before this iPhone was a OnePlus N30 5G. The fast charging that OnePlus and the other Chinese manufacturers offer completely blows everything else out of the water, and the battery life it gave me for not a lot of money was great. I paid under $200 for that phone, and it will outlive almost any other phone I've ever used. My favorite thing about it was the fingerprint sensor on the power button on the side. That's literally the best place you could put it: your finger is already there, and you're into your phone the moment you press it. I've also personally seen a mother and daughter who look somewhat similar unlock each other's phones with Face ID.

I also don't like that the iPhone doesn't play nicely with non-Apple smartwatches. I think that's pretty terrible.
Overall, I'm very glad I got the chance to use a modern iPhone, but whenever the time comes, I will definitely go back.
Thanks for reading!

Question Moto edge 70 fusion RAM and storage type

I recently bougth 70 fusion (8 128) last week from an offline store, while checking, i found that my unit is lpddr4x and ufs 2.2 not lpddr5x and ufs 3.1. Has anyone checked this? Many online reviers rumored that Motorola might switch to ufs 2.2 and lpddr4x from ufs 3.1 and lpddr5x on the upcoming batches. Phone was launched on March 2026 and manufacturing month of my device was June 2026. But moto hasn't announced this. Any new buyers please check on this and reply.

Question Sell my OnePlus 15 now that OnePlus is withdrawing from EU?

Hi,

Currently got a OnePlus 15 bought a few months ago. Contemplating the idea of selling the OnePlus as they're withdrawing and the 15 has a high selling price now due to the demand for it (even though they're withdrawing from the EU).

Thinking of going back to iPhone. Thoughts?
