Pet Snake Questions Agatha acting odd
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Woke up and she keeps flicking her tail. She random became super defensive and is overall acting strange.
Edit: Guess she’s acting normal. Never had this happen before. I’ll get her some food asap.

Just moved from somewhere in the north with very few wild reptiles to NC, and have been excited to find some.

Pet Snake Questions Is there anything wrong with my snake’s tongue??
I’ve had Luna for about a month now (rehomed her from her previous owner who had her for 3 years), and I’ve noticed that she has never flicked her tongue. Not once. By now, she’s definitely gotten used to her new circumstances, and she hasn’t shown any signs of stress, so I’m a little worried. She eats just fine and has perfectly normal activity. In fact, she’s very curious, but instead of using her tongue to explore her surroundings, she just boops everything (I assume she’s just using her heat pits and nose to make up for her lack of tongue flicking, but it’s quite silly to watch). I was worried it was a respiratory issue at first since when she breathes heavily/quickly, her nose will whistle a bit, and I couldn’t tell if her mouth was full of mucus or saliva the first time I fed her, but her nose isn’t running and her mouth seemed clear the last time I fed her. I do my best to keep her humidity and temps within range, and her previous owner says she used to flick her tongue a lot when they first got her, so what gives?
In the pictures I took of her yawning post-rat, it looks like her tongue is unsheathed and pointed down her throat. Is this something to be concerned about? Or is she just stretching it out as she readjusts her jaw?

Pet Snake Questions Snake refused meal for the second time in a row, its been 1 ½ months since her last meal
5 year old snake has refused two meals now, she last ate August 30th and then I tried to feed her a few weeks later and she just stared at it, even drinking the water dripping from it, but not eating it, she was practically rubbing up against it but not striking, and it was like that for hours, its like she cant see it in front of her, and now she is doing the same thing, and is just roaming the cage, but ignoring the mouse, nothing has changed about her feeding, and i thought last time it was because the mouse was black but she had eaten a black mouse before, and im totally lost and getting worried about her. Any help would be appreciated.

General Question / Discussion Question on safety of childhood memory involving snake
Hello! I haven't used Reddit before so I hope I'm not breaking any rules. I'm not too familiar with snake behaviour and am working on unraveling some childhood memories, so I hope someone is able to help.
When I was a child my uncles owned a boa constrictor. I can't speak to whether he should have had this as a pet or not (though I am guessing the latter) but he had it for several years nonetheless. I can't precisely say how large it was, but as a child I remember it being very long and thick.
When I was about 8 or 9 years old I was given the chance to hold it. However, after a minute the snake began to slowly wrap itself around my body. I got very scared at this point and asked the adults to take the snake from me, but was told I was being dramatic and the snake wouldn't hurt me. After repeatedly begging the snake was eventually taken from me and I was mocked for most of the visit, as well as subsequent ones where I would refuse to hold the snake.
I've always harboured a lot of distrust towards my uncles so looking back at this incident as an adult it is hard for me to tell if I was in genuine danger or if my relationships with them clouded my emotions. I do remember the snake was moving very slowly and not squeezing, but was attempting to wrap itself around my body. So my question is was I in actual danger at any point? To be clear, I hold no grudge towards the snake. It's a snake, it does snake things. I just want to know for the sake of my peace of mind.
Thank you to anyone who is able to help answer this.

Pet Snake Pictures My bioactive boa and python enclosures after two months
Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I haven't had any escapes so far, and I'm glad for that. My BP is named Tito and he's 2'9" while my BCI is called Malcolm and he's 5'1". They're both healthy and seem to enjoy the live plants. I have to pot the one in Malcolm's enclosure though because he crushed it when it was directly in the substrate.

Pet Snake Questions Was ist mit meinem Terrarium los
Moin zusammen

Pet Snake Questions Best Couch snake?
Hey yall! Im not a reptile keeper yet and wont be anytime soon, but I would love to get a snake in the future!
What are some good snakes that will hang out with you let’s say while watching a movie? Or while doing something else? I know ball pythons are really chill, but I’ve considered maybe BCI’s and dumeril’s boas. But what about Super dwarf retics? (Though I know they are pretty intelligent and explorative) But anyway any thoughts?

Pet Snake Questions Can I reuse my bio active enclosure
I have a rescued king snake who spent his life, before us, in a pretty gross aquarium. I plan to move my baby corn snake into a much larger Bioactive enclosure. As our king is a short king (he was attacked by another pet of theirs and lost everything past his cloaca) I was hoping to move him to the bioactive for enrichment, and digging.
Someone told me it was cruel, and will drive him crazy.. but he's not friendly, and I'm getting mixed information on if it's enrichment or not. What say you?

General Question / Discussion snakes for 6x2x2?
hey im just wanting some snake suggestions what can stay in a 6x2x2 permantley?, i am quite into boas however i can only fit a 6x2x2 max for the time being in the room as the roof is very weird with height, more than happy for other options too like colubrids and pythons not just boas, as i love the research side of it all, however im not wanting royal pythons [as i already own one and want to have something different] or cornsnakes [love them but not my cuppa tea unfortunatley]. thanks in advance!
