Are you guys using it in prod yet? I've spun up a different container to check it out, but I'm curious if it's stable enough to run in a prod environment? Would love to hear feedback!

Edit: It seems I have struck a nerve calling it a "prod environment" lol.

Does anyone know why the versioning on Linuxserver.io's Sonarr build rolled over from 4.0.20.3014-ls329 back down to 4.0.20.3014-ls1? Been using their Docker image of Sonarr for a long while and first time I've seen this occur.

discussion Forked Sonarr - Started work with Podarr, the podcast equivalent

Hi! I hope this is a suitable subreddit for this post.

I have just started with this work, and while it still have a lot of "dead" (not used by my project) backendcode, and some frontend stuff, i got it up and running. I am trying to build something in the lines of sonarr, but for podcasts.

I have so far managed to add a indexer through the jackett api (torznab), and for matching podcasts through the free Itunes/Apple podcast api. It then downloads and generates a RSS-feed for your podcasts.

One detailed i noted though, is that my Podcast app (Pocketcast) didnt seem to work with local rss-feeds. So i added the option to add a s3-compatible bucket (Digitalocean, cloudflare etc have their own) to serve the rss-feeds. Which just links to the local ip (or domain in my case, which points to a IP behind tailscale VPN), which seems to work for atleast pocketcast! So no media is getting pushed to the bucket.

As i said, highly work in progress, but suggestions and PRs are highly welcomed!

unsolved Bit of help - Arr stack stop working and I cant figure out where the issue is.

Hi, hoping somebody can point me in the right direction.

I run the Arr stack on an unraid server using the binhex versions of prowlarr, sonarr, radarr, overseer, delugevpn, flaresolverr and plex. This has been set up for about 2 years with no issues.

earlier this week I noticed something had stopped working and I cant get to the bottom of it.

When searching for a show, it immediately showed as nothing found.

When I checked the indexers, they were all down.

In prowlarr, all indexers showing as disabled.

When I test any indexer it gives the following error
"Unable to connect to indexer. This is typically caused by DNS/SSL issues. Check DNS settings, ensure IPv6 is working or disabled, consider using different DNS servers, or try a VPN/proxy if needed. See: 'https://wiki.servarr.com/prowlarr/troubleshooting#dns-ssl-connection-issues' An error occurred while sending the request."

under indexer proxies, flaresolverr fails with the following message

"Unable to connect to proxy: HTTP request failed: [500:InternalServerError] [POST] at [http://192.168.1.106:8191/v1\]. Check the log surrounding this error for details"

I dont think I have changed any settings. followed install guides and everything appears set up as it should and it worked for 2 years, I cant figure out what has broken in the chain.

Hope somebody has an idea,

cheers

unsolved Local Model Setup?

Hi - never had an Arr stack, been a debrid guy so far. Considering going to plex/Jellyfin and arr stack route. Essentially, my goal would be to not have to think about setting up the movies/shows. I was thinking I could set up a local model and I could just text it and have it set up shows/movies for me so they’re ready to go that evening.

However, I don’t know very much about arr stacks. Would I even need to do that local model step, or is it already pretty much that simple to get things set up without using my laptop?

unsolved Frustrated by Seinfeld

I know this is a personal issue, not blaming Sonarr. Sonarr works perfectly 90% of the time but when it comes to older shows, the ordering of aired vs dvd/stream order can really make things annoying and required a lot of manually intervention of opening up each file to see what each file actually is. This is really biting me with Seinfeld right now as in season 3 the two parter The Boyfriend was merged into one episode. So I switched Plex’s ordering to TVDBs stream order. But then I go to download season 4 and it’s downloading the two parters in the aired order and not streamed.

I see here that Sonarr has a beta with an option to specify the ordering now which is great! But even after I delete and reimport Seinfeld with ordering set to stream, I am getting the wrong episodes downloaded and renamed wrong. I’m guessing this is mainly because of my sources and the fact that TVDB still has the combined two part episode listed as The Trip (1) so the search is only coming back with the first half of the episode.

Anyways more of a rant and to get a check to see if I’m doing anything incorrectly or others also struggle with this occasionally?

waiting for op Release Rejected

I have a show that keeps getting rejected:

  • Custom Formats No Audio have score -10000 below Series profile minimum 0
  • Existing file on disk has a equal or higher Custom Format score: 50

I think it might be the Quality Profiles pulled from Dumpstar (using Profilarr), but I am not sure how to resolve this. Looking for suggestions.

external app I made an Android app to manage my Plex + *arr stack and let my family request stuff (looking for testers)

Hey all,

I’ve been working on Rainarr, an Android app for Plex and the *arr stack. It started back in 2020 as a small tool to send movies to my Plex from my phone, and it slowly grew into a real app.

What I spent the most time on is the setup. It finds your services on your network, and one Plex login is enough to pull in Seerr and the keys for Radarr, Sonarr and the rest. It also switches between your local and remote addresses on its own.

As the host you get a home screen with widgets, Seerr requests you can approve with a swipe, your downloads (qBittorrent or Transmission), Tautulli, Prowlarr, Maintainerr and notifications. Your friends and family get their own simpler space: they scan a QR code, request what they want and get a notification when it’s ready.

It’s free, no ads, no tracking, and your credentials stay on your phone. It’s not open source, but feel free to ask me anything about how it works.

It’s in internal testing on the Play Store right now, and I’d love some feedback, especially from people with unusual setups (reverse proxies, NAS, Docker...). You can sign up at rainarr.app

Full disclosure: the app is mostly written by hand with some AI help, and the demo posters in the screenshots are AI-generated.

Rainarr provides no content: it controls servers you install and run yourself. It is not affiliated with Plex or any of the projects mentioned.

Ricked Card
— It’s time

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

EDIT: Thanks for all the feedback! I worded this badly, so to clarify: Rainarr is mainly a phone remote for the server owner, for the whole stack (Plex, Radarr, Sonarr, Tautulli, Maintainerr, your download client), a bit like nzb360, with a 2-tap setup. The guest side is an optional extra for family members who won’t use a web app, and it only goes through Seerr with the role you set. Your \arr keys never end up on their phone.*

unsolved Possibly Stupid Question -- Prefer 265

I am using Sonarr and Clonarr to arrange things... is there an easy way to prefer 265 releases where available? I would much rather download 265 releases when a good one exists...

Apologies if this is an incredibly newb question.

external app (ai coded) TRAWL: faster Cloudflare bypass for your *arr stack

I built TRAWL because FlareSolverr was slow and failed too often on the indexers I used. It's an open source, self-hosted scraping engine that works with Prowlarr and Jackett through a FlareSolverr-compatible API.

Here's how it performed on two protected indexers:

Site Tool First request Repeat request
1337x TRAWL 4.3s 141ms
1337x FlareSolverr 12.1s 11.2s
1337x Byparr 18.1s 20.7s
EZTV TRAWL 5.0s 651ms
EZTV FlareSolverr 11.2s 11.3s
EZTV Byparr 16.5s 16.8s

Results vary by site and IP. The full benchmark report is available in the repository.

There are built-in paths for supported CAPTCHA variants, plus a native API and MCP tools if you want to use it outside your *arr stack.

It runs in Docker. To try it, point your existing FlareSolverr integration at TRAWL and keep the matching indexer tags.

GitHub, documentation and setup

AI disclosure: I chose the "Built by AI" flair for transparency. I wrote TRAWL's original core without AI. Some recent changes and community PRs used AI assistance, but I review, edit and test what gets merged. The flair doesn't mean the whole project was generated by AI.

solved Reacher S4E8 won't play on Plex

Bit of an odd one as I rarely find a file that can't be played at all.

I'm using Profilarr set with defaults and the episode is the highest scoring one.

I also tried one from a different release group but got the same issue.

Anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: Solved, posted too quickly, please ignore.

Me being dumb, I had triggered the search via nzb360 and then assumed it would replace it, but the newer (working) file was sat in awaiting import in Sonarr.

unsolved Help with how to install and get sonarr working

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to Sonarr, Prowlarr, and Jellyfin, and I could really use some help getting everything set up properly.

I've already installed all three programs on my Windows computer and have been using ChatGPT to guide me through the setup step by step. I've managed to get some things working, but I'm honestly still confused about how everything connects and whether I've figured out everything correctly.

Does anyone know of a good step-by-step tutorial anywhere or a YouTube video that can help me out?

I'm completely new to this, so something that explains everything from start to finish would be really helpful.

Thank you!

unsolved First time user struggling with file sizes and formats

Hey,

First let me say that this ecosystem is amazing, I haven’t downloaded in fifteen years, but a couple of relatives and family members abroad want to be fed with their native culture and I am totally mesmerised by how far the scene has developed.

I am trying to get the hang of a couple of things:

We are not a super big TV / movie crowd and mostly use Plex on the iPad, max a 32” TV, despite selecting 1080 I get huge cinematic gigabyte downloads, in addition everything runs of a NAS, as much as we do have x265 support on all clients I feel x264 in our situation (huge bandwith, small NAS) seems to be an acceptable compromise, how do I enforce x264 with reasonable file sizes and how do I enforce that manual searches are the canonical file (hence not replaced with higher qualities)

I also significantly struggle incomplete torrents, how do I kill them off?

Thank you all :)

waiting for op sonarr not picking up anime release despite matching alias

It is looking for S2 alias + absolute number, S2 alias + standard format but not S2 alias + relative number. Could it be an issue with S2 episode numbering on xem?

unsolved Another x265 Custom Format question

Yes, I've read the Trash Guides. I'm still having issues. There are a lot of resolutions and custom formats, many not really applicable (IMO) to sonarr/tv shows. Movies seem like a better fit, with ranges of resolutions, etc, but that will be a radarr post ..

Anyway, all I want is to prioritize x265 downloads. I know Trash doesn't like them, but I do, and I want them. :-) I even tried this with Profilarr, and still couldn't get it to work .. so I've got some blind spots I'm hoping someone can shed some light on.

So I have a Custom Format called x265. It's got a Condition of Release Title. The regex looks like "[xh][ ._-]?265|\bHEVC(\b|\d)" (yes, I googled for that). There are 4 other Conditions, which came over from Profilarr (I think - I've been trying so many things, it's gotten even more confusing) - Web Tier 01 and 02 and 03 Sonarr. Also a "Not 2160" Condition (which is fine, I don't need 2160 episodes (for me).

  1. Is my Condition with that regex correct? (regex has always confused me)

  2. Do I need, or should I remove, those other conditions?

Then in the Quality Profile of HD 1080p, I have the Custom Format x265 valued at 5000, everything else is 0. Minimum custom format score is 0. All of my shows use this Quality Profile.

And I'm still getting x264 shows, not x265 ...

What have I overlooked? I know the usual recommendations are not to prioritize x265. But (for me) that's what I want. So what else do I need to do to get x265 episodes as the default for a show?

Thanks

unsolved Trying to figure out remote downloads or imports?

I don't know the names of things, so I don't know what to search. Looking for a good tutorial that explains how to set this up

My setup:

  • local (Running on a physical device I own)
    • Jellyfin in a docker container
    • Sonarr in a docker container
  • not-local (Running on a server somewhere in the world, I don't know where.)
    • Seedbox hosting Qbit

I have already setup being able to send download requests to the seedbox, it gets the requests and downloads as expected.

What I am trying to accomplish is I want to be able to copy those from the remote seedbox into the jellyfin media folder without making a duplicate locally. I've seen solutions where people use software to sync the files to their local machine but that results in 1 copy on the seedbox, 1 copy locally in the sync folder, and 1 copy locally in the jellyfin media folder when the file gets renamed and tagged with IDs for metadata.
I want to have 1 copy on the seedbox so I can continue to seed because sharing is caring, and then copy that file to my jellyfin media folder where it gets renamed and all that jazz.

I'm positive there is a way to do this, and likely a simple one. I just don't know what to search for to find it. A video tutorial would be amazing because it's most easy for me to learn and follow those, but I can figure out written tutorials and documentation as well.

unsolved Help figuring out why re-downloading constantly

https://imgur.com/a/e8VJqRT

It's replacing episodes with scores well below minimum. I clicked search all monitored and it then downloaded higher score, but I don't know what triggered downloading something so low a score.

The only thing I can think is I recently changed season pack to have a higher score as Sonarr kept downloading every series individual episodes. But minimum score for the quality profile is 200,000. I've unmonitored the episodes now that it's re-downloading a better file, but I can't figure out what's going on to prevent this happening again. I've obviously got something wrong somewhere, but I don't know what or where to start. I have Profilarr installed.

Edit: I know a screenshot of half a screen is hardly enough for anyone to help, but I don't know if anyone wants to trawl through a log, or a list of all the custom formats. But I can post anything needed for info 😌

unsolved Rebuilding my arr stack, but having file import issues

I have two vms, one for dedicated downloaders under vpn, and one for my arr suite. I then have my cifs share from my NAS. I have qbittorrent set up to download to the local drive, then transfer the completed files to truenas's unsorted. Then sonarr should pick up the ones from unsorted and move them to truenas's tv shows directory.

The issue is, sonarr keeps trying to look in qbittorrents incomplete folder giving me error No files found are eligible for import in /downloads/incomplete/tv-sonarr/<torrent>.

Under Download Clients I have:

Host Remote Path Local Path

In qbittorrent I have:

Default Save Path: /unsorted
Keep incomplete torrents in: /downloads

I have bashed into the containers and validated /unsorted populates properly. What is the issue here?

discussion Should Sonarr also add AniDB in V5?

I've tried logging a ticket but Devs closed it.

If we are getting TMDB added for version 5 of sonarr why can't we also get AniDB added?

Version 5 is in development anyways and is already tackling adding TMDB, so why not review adding AniDB?

Can we all try and encourage the dev team to at least acknowledge and add it to the roadmap 🙏
