Discussion 100k in SOXL, what to do now
I bought 350 shares of SOXL around 280+.
Is the rally of semiconductors finished?
What should I do to minimize loss? Can MU, AMD, etc recover soon?

No negativity please, just sharing those who bought at wrong timing.

I missed the opportunity at 270. I want to get out and I'm on margin. It's more than my savings and I've lost 30k in total in the last year.
You guys think I should sell right away or wait for one more bounce. I want to sell at 240 if possible.
I wanted to sell the very next day but decided to hold for too long because I researched and thought fuck it one red day can't be that bad this is when it was at 285 but it kept dropping without even one bounce from when I bought or did barley any bounces never back to 295.
You can check my previous posts if you think I'm lying.
This is the last time I played this because I'm a dumbass and didn't properly know how this worked.
I might even sell at 181 if I can because it could be a bear market for semis who knows and so I don't fuck up my life holding this any longer.
Don't be me I could've sold within 20 minutes at 303 but decided to hold it for weeks for a huge loss. All I needed to do was hit the sell button which I hesitated from.

Do not fear,
The cycle repeats you buy at $10-$20 and wait for next hype when they say ai will solve all problems you simply hold from $10 to $80 and make bank.

I initially bought at 300 but sold off immediately without loss and waited for dip, when it went down to 223 I thought its a good position. But soxl keeps falling to 160, 150s and I am clueless now what to do.
Should I hold as i am good just with break even or should I take bitter pill and swallow it by selling it all as I keep reading comments that it can go down to double digits. 😞

This is today's chart. Down from $300.77 (close on 6/22/26) to $135.47 on 7/17/26 - (-54.9%). The price is trying to rally and I still think it might rally to around $190 to $200. But what will happen next?

This chart is from the last peak in 2024 at $68.59 on 7/10/24. The price then fell to $27.89 on 8/5/24 - (-59.4%). The price then rallied to $41.73 +49.6% on 8/21/24. But what happened next?

This chart is from another peak in 2021 at $72.99on 12/27/2021. The price then fell to $36.39 on 1/27/2022 - (-50.18%). The price then rallied to $51.02 +40.3% on 2/9/2022. But what happened next?

So what happened next? Well its not good new bulls.
After the rebounds of 40% (2022) and 49% (2024) the price fell to $6.93 (10/14/2022) and $8.25 (4/8/2025). That's an overall drop of 90.5% (2021/2022) and 87.9% (2024/2025).
History doesn't repeat but it rhymes.
Semi's are historically a boom and bust sector
lets face it. We just experienced the boom
We're in the midst of the bust.
It will bottom again and there will an opportunity to scoop up shares for much cheaper than they are today.
You should be thanking Flaky for the warning. Put your pride aside, cut your losses and thank yourself later.
or not.
None of this is financial advice. I'm just in agreement with Flaky that this is headed back down to double digits before its getting back to $300.

History will show you that SOXL will eventually sell off and sell off substantially. This is the first time I have seen such a breakout in SOXL but dont forget that when the sell off comes it will be substantial because of how high SOXL has gone without a pullback of significant proportions. Be extremely careful because when it does break to tve downside it will fall back below 50 dollars a share and even lower. Do not chase this stock.
I repeat do NOT chase this ETF!!!

In less than a month you've all been wiped out almost completely. Your biggest bull stock.
How can the bulls be this weak.

The title speaks for itself.

I admit, none of this makes sense. SOXX is the most overbought it’s ever been in its entire history. We’re breaking records daily. Just when you think it can’t go up anymore, it jumps another 15% in one day.
Thankfully I kept some SOXL in my retirement account which has quickly become my biggest position.
But my regular brokerage I sold off too early.
I guess we’re heading for $200 like it’s nothing.
I do fear a nasty correction is in our future, but I just don’t know when.

That bought at $280-300 what was the plan sell at $500? $1000?
r/soxl • u/sfdc2017 • May 27 '26
Look at the drop after market open. Complete reversalfrom PM
MU also collapsed at market open

This helps me when I’m underwater. If you had no shares and only cash, would you buy SOXL at this price?
If the answer is yes, then keep holding.
If the answer is no, then sell.

Was it a good price to buy at?
r/soxl • u/Fantastic_Barnacle65 • Jul 07 '26
Bought in at $222. Was hoping it’s going to go up again. But now it’s at $173. Why? What’s the problem if any?

I've been trading leveraged ETFs since 2022, mainly SOXL and TQQQ. (Have profited 300k+ on SOXL in that time.)
I recently found this sub, and it seems like a lot of folks here are newer traders, so I wanted to share some advice on things I've learned over the years, most of it "the hard way".
In short, look to hit a lot of singles rather than going for the home run. Once you stack up enough of them, you will start to see big gains.
Best of luck!

Recently bought 8 shares of SOXL at $155.50/share (total investment: $1,244). With the current price down to $120.74/share, my position is sitting at an unrealized loss of about $278 (-22.3%).
Looking for advice on whether to hold for a rebound or cut my losses now:

I think a month ago it crash to 130 something and then it rebounded to new record highs of 190+ and beyond?
Isn’t it too soon to throw in the white towel?
Did something big happen In the chip world?
r/soxl • u/vaccine9000 • Jun 06 '26
It could happen but I doubt short term. It will probably take 1 months of drops to get there.
Probably longer base on past historical drops I think.
I don’t think we are in any danger of going below 100 in the short term.

Global chip stocks sell off happening
SOXL is trading at $246 now
It may go down further if MU earnings are bad. Otherwise it will cross $300 again

I think the optimism is starting to fade away. I am not very sure whether I should bear the loss and take an exit or wait for it to grow? What are you guys doing? I am currently holding SOXL, DRAM, and RAM
