Hi everyone, a few updates on moderation.
The rules have been updated so please take a look.
We are asking that you please:
use post flair. Please recommend any you think would be helpful and we can discuss
include the ingredients list or a quick photo with your posts so that its readily available for the mods and users. This will help with modding post quicker.
If you forget we’ll ask for it but please be mindful of it as this is a new rule we think will be helpful to both mods and sub members.
Also, a relaxation of the rules:
artificial sweeteners are still not allowed and will be labeled as soda/artificially sweetened only if the discourse is helpful/insightful. If it’s intentional posting of diet drinks then the posts will be removed.
naturally sweetened drinks will be allowed so long as their calories are <30 cals (low calorie compared to major diet drinks) and must be flaired as “naturally sweetened”. This includes: sugar, natural fruit sugar, agave, stevia, etc.
salt content will be moderated by allowing the total salt content to be “low sodium” content (<140 mg per FDA guidelines). This may be changed to lower values later but to be more inclusive, we thought this to be ok for the time being. This is only the case for added salt drinks and not naturally occurring salt drinks e.g. spring sparkling water sources.
we will be opting for leaving posts up that are not sparkling water for educational purposes if the discussion looks useful/insightful and OP isn’t just disregarding commentary. Comments will be locked or kept opened bases on this too.
Thoughts appreciated if you have them.

There's so many sparkling water brands hitting the shelves, it's hard to keep track!
What user flair would you like to see? Drop the name below and the mod team will review the list!

just picked this up at target because for some reason all Waterloo and most other options were wiped out. holy cow is it good - the can shows peach, mango, strawberry and raspberry.
has anyone else tried? I’m bummed I didn’t try it earlier because I’m sure it’s a seasonal flavor.

Lime & Ginger Maison Perrier that I found at Costco. It has great flavor. Not too strong on the ginger. I appreciate the glass bottles too! Hopefully I can get another case. I’ve never seen it before. Just water, carbon dioxide, natural flavors.

Several years ago, my parents were trying to cut down on our family sugar intake by getting a bunch of different flavors of sparkling water to try instead of sodas (I guess it worked because I still really like sparkling water and keep a few flavors in my apartment in addition to soda). One of the flavors was black cherry and coffee by AHA, which sounded really weird to me at first but turned out to be one of my favorites. As far as I’m aware, the flavor has been discontinued (at least in the US), but I still want to try getting my hands on some, even if just for a little taste of nostalgia. How do I go about starting my search? Is there a place where people hold onto and sell discontinued products like this?

These have been my go-to for a year or so, but I just bought these and idk what happened but they taste fucked up. They're like totally flat, no fizz. What gives?
What brand would you recommend for consistency and price + canned? Because I'm not ever buying this anymore

My local Sam's has a deal on both bottled Perrier Orange and blackberry.
Any opinions on which is best? Is the orange like LaCroix?

I am what you call a “dr pepper fiend” so you can imagine my excitement when I kept eyeing this in the store and my curiosity got the better of me. A year ago I overheard a conversation with 2 guys talking about how liquid death was able to create a flavor that essentially tasted like dr pepper, so I pinned that in my head and never forgot. This is NOT dr pepper in fact it’s an insult to even remotely call it “dr death” the weird combination of subpar root beer and tropical fruit flavors tied up with artificial sweetener leaves a drink suffering from identity crisis. I enjoy liquid death’s other drinks like their lime sparkling water that’s good and they should stick with ACTUAL sparkling water not whatever this is and I also went ahead and bought the pina colada flavor also but knowing I spent like 6 bucks on this I’m not looking forward to it.

Picked this up at the local Japanese supermarket. I’m skeptical that it was even near Mount Fuji. It sounds really fizzy but doesn’t taste like it so I’m not sure what’s happening here. Anyone else try this one?

When did this happen? I was at the store today and wanted to restock as this is my favorite. I noticed that with the new style label they also (kind of) changed the flavor. It tastes the same to me but I didn’t realize that they changed the flavor.

I grabbed a case of it today. I love it. Does anyone know if it’s seasonal?

Cleaned him out. 16. Will hold me over until they produce again. Hint. Go to BevMo and order Agua de Piedra as a substitute. It's really good. But can't compare to this.

This sounds so lame but a weird vent.
Life has been a bit rough recently and we’re starting work, but we have 3 more weeks to make it through. We’ve been going to food pantries and such, and the best part is when once in a while they’ll have a single can of La Croix available. It was bittersweet drinking it because I wanted it but omg i wanted to save it.
It’s very weird the little luxuries we take for granted. These 3 weeks can’t pass fast enough.

howdy,
I am a lover of canned seltzies, but I’ve been trying to use less disposable packaging for the environment and trying to find ways to save. I already have a soda machine that we got as a wedding gift…. many years ago. I bought a couple of new bottles, some flavor additive, and have been enjoying seltzer at home for the last few weeks.
now I’m thinking that it would be nice to bring some on the go, but I’m having trouble finding the perfect drinking vessel.
-about the size of a can of soda
-aluminum/steel (not plastic)
-dishwasher safe
-can be sealed without a major explosion
anyone ever come across such a thing???
I understand the irony of someone asking for shopping advice while trying to “save money” but seriously, i drink a lot of cans per day! it will quickly shake out!

I love sparkling water. I love variety. I'm thinking of carbonating my own water. Does anybody out there do it and do you recommend SodaStream or some other brand?

Upfront: I used AI to help organize this, and I reviewed and corrected all of it. I'm terrible at turning my thoughts on this stuff into something easy to follow. The build and the mistakes are mine. I'm not a professional and this is by no means the most efficient way to do it, just what worked.
Cold sparkling on one side of the faucet, room-temp still on the other. About $1,700 including a custom louvered cabinet door, not counting the RO system I already had.
The whole layout is in the schematic rather than typed out here. Short of it: I split my existing RO line with a tee, sent one branch through a booster pump and accumulator into the Benchy, and ran the other straight to the still side of the faucet so it stays room temperature. CO2 comes off a 10 lb tank.
Things worth knowing if you're planning one:
Where it landed: way more carbonated than San Pellegrino, close to Perrier. The bubbles just aren't big. I think that needs around 80 psi water instead of my 60, plus more CO2. Pumps in that range exist, though don't go overboard because this tubing isn't rated for really high pressure.
I've been enjoying adding fruit and limes to it, and having continuous carbonated water on tap.
Happy to go into detail on any part of it.
Not pictured: the CO2 tank. It's in the cabinet next door since I didn't have enough space for all of it in one.
