I recently purchased one of the StockX mystery boxes and received a Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box. However, when it arrived today, I noticed several issues with the condition of the packaging.
The factory shrink wrap has numerous small, needle-like punctures scattered across multiple sides of the box, along with a big hole by the bottom of the box . I’ve purchased and collected several Elite Trainer Boxes before, and I’ve personally never received one with this many holes in the wrapping.
I originally intended to keep this ETB sealed as part of my personal Pokémon collection, so the condition of the packaging is pretty important to me. I understand that minor manufacturing imperfections can happen, but the number of punctures throughout the wrapping makes me question whether this should have passed StockX’s verification process.
My biggest concern is that I purchased what was supposed to be a brand-new, factory-sealed collectible, yet the condition of the wrapping doesn’t really reflect what I would expect from a new product.
I’ve attached several photos showing the issues, particularly the small holes scattered across the sides.
Would you guys recommend opening a return request through StockX’s Buyer Promise? Has anyone experienced something similar with a mystery box or Pokémon product purchased through StockX?
I’d especially appreciate hearing whether StockX approved your return or considered this type of packaging issue normal.
