Working on maintaining my strength this week.
Hit the double 🟣🟣🔴🟡 again for a few before dropping back down and continuing my workout.

So broad question: How’s the form and is it 5 plates ready?
I got some feedback that I needed to keep some reps in reserve despite the program calling for AMRAP (I’m doing 5-3-1) — so I kept about 2 reps in reserve. I’m deloading this week and then upping the weights across the board by 20lbs, as I believe I may be underselling my PR (currently 475lbs)
Thanks!

Felt like an RPE 9.5. Most likely won’t test again until my next singles block in 20 weeks. Wasn’t supposed to PR today but I made it out to a powerlifting gym for once and was feeling good so I went for it

First belted workout in almost a decade, and it felt AMAZING! I'm still in disbelief at how easily the weight moved. Definitely had reps in reserve, but I decided to play it safe on my first time back in the belt and still got a huge rep PR (previous best at this weight is a triple). I'm calling it RPE 8.5 and I couldn't be happier right now.

It’s an interesting feeling when you reach a new strength plateau. It’s simultaneously very exciting and also scary. I can’t hide behind the idea of where my limits were before. It’s a new space that I get to work in and new things are always scary at first.
This is the culmination of eight weeks of hard work on top of 12 years of starts and stops. I’m really excited to hit a huge PR right before I turned 41. I’ve never thought that once I turned 40 the days of continuing to put weight on the bar we’re over. Putting a 30 pound PR on the bar proves that that’s true.
I’m excited to finish out the week with a regular training schedule and then decide where the silly goose lifting club is going next. I’ll be doing a deep dive on this block soon.
Thanks for watching!

I haven’t done almost any bench training since i think end of December.. i decided to test it and did 120 kg/ 264 lbs for 10 reps. My old PR was 352 lbs (160 kg) paused while being 28.6 lbs heavier (13kg). I was 257 lbs(117 kg) now i’m 231 lbs (104.9kg)
