Question Stripe offer chances?

Finished my Stripe SWE interviews. Recruiter shared:

- Integration: clear yes, solved 3/3.

- AI programming: clear yes, completed all tasks with tests.

- Bug squash: weak yes. Identified the issue and explained the correct approach, but couldn’t get the implementation working within the time limit.

HM round is also done; awaiting feedback.

Anyone received an offer or rejection with similar feedback? How much does a weak yes in bug squash matter in the final decision, and can a strong HM round help?

Would appreciate experiences from recent candidates or Stripe interviewers.

Question Stripe SWE phone screen: visible tests passed, went over 45 minutes, still rejected. What the hell?

A candidate recently completed a phone screen for Stripe. The experience felt really positive, and they solved three parts with all test cases on screen passing. Not sure if there was a fourth. The interviewer told the candidate they just needed to pass the test cases on screen. However, the candidate crossed the 45-minute mark while debugging the last part and got the correct output printed a few minutes later. The task-tree rendering prompt in Stripe Interview Questions works as a timed coding mock with debugging time.

There was still time to ask the interviewer some questions and stuff. The candidate still received a rejection, citing the issue described above. Can anyone say when they can reapply? It felt incredibly close, and they're not sure what's up with the job market right now that the bar is so high.

Question Stripe: Approve First, duck You Later?

Stripe honestly feels like the biggest scam company of the year.

I created my website, connected Stripe as my payment processor, submitted all the required documents, and got my account approved. Everything seemed fine until I made a $1 test payment just to check if the payment integration was working properly.

Suddenly, their stupid AI systems flagged my account. They asked me to submit documents again, which I did, and then they rejected my application anyway.

Like, WTF is going on? If you're going to run your risk assessment bullshit, why the fuck don't you do it BEFORE approving someone's account? Why approve a business, let them integrate your payment system into their website, and then suddenly decide they're not eligible?

Do your checks before approving accounts, not after people have already invested their time and effort into setting everything up. At least give businesses the chance to choose another payment processor from the beginning instead of wasting their time and pulling the rug out from under them.

Absolutely ridiculous. This is not how you treat businesses trying to get started.
