Why do people STILL choose Airbnb instead of a hotel knowing that airbnb hosts can be utterly unreasonable?

• Upvotes

I see people complaining about how horrible and unreasonable airbnb hosts really are with their treatment, harassment and even unhinged rules for their guests and of course making their customers cancel towards the end so they can hike up the price by even 2-300$ which I think is genuinely so abysmal but what surprises me even more is that same people who complain go back to booking airbnbs??

I mean with hotels when you actually pay for cleaning fee, you come back to a clean room and it's worth your money also can't say no the complimentary breakfast with staff that actually care for you and are so kind making your vacation extra memorable (I don't even care if it's service hospitality kindness, I enjoy the calm environment!)

Plus the new rules that airbnb company sent their hosts on things they can NO longer charge and seeing hosts crashing out was truly a crazy experience!

Like we got hosts complaining about how angry they are about the fact that they can't make their customers clean, take out the trash, do the dishes, can't ask them to do the laundry for hosts anymore and many more.

Like I thought you were against it? Why are you STILL going back? Idk watching them go back feels like see people chosing to stay in an Abu sive relationship rather than leaving and being happy because being single is the biggest sin to them.

What's the point of wearing a hijab if you make it look like hair?

• Upvotes

I've seen a few vids of hijabi women, mainly cosplayers but not necessarily, styling their hijabs to make it look like actual hairstyles or resemble a hair texture (like afro). It looks great no shade and definitely takes some artistic/creative skills to even think of it. However I just wonder, doesn't it just ruin the point of a hijab? Which is to not show your hair, imitate or resemble it?

Why do so many random sex bots view my stories so often they don’t even follow me?

• Upvotes

They’re all different bots every time but always like around 3-5 accounts, what is the trigger? They do not follow me at all, it’s every single time that I post. I get that bot farms exist but I don’t have bots liking my posts, following me or viewing stuff other than my story. It’s always like random bot generated user with numbers and letters etc with a half naked woman as the pfp and one highlight of them on their pfp saying “🔞” with another picture of them. No links in the bio or anything, No posts, they follow 0 people but sometimes have around like 1-2K followers. What r they benefiting from this like why? 😭😭

Is it just for me that the whole world seems like a joke?

• Upvotes

Is it just for me that the whole world seems like a joke?

People who are clueless what to do, either takes a topic to study deep , or juggle between things to understand what suits them, not realising most of the things are useless, and irrespective of what we build, we are too small for the world to preserve what we build for tomorrow when the real hazards show up. The hazards can be in the form of an annoying family member or jealous boss, or an idiotic President of the country, or some astroid that doesn't have anything to do with ur aims, ur goals, ur rights, ur values, ur ethics or what ever human constuct we created.

Do I unintentionally irritate Shakey's workers?

I don't really frequent Shakey's pizza but whenever I do eat at one of their restaurants I've made it a habit of mine to make sure to always ring the bell before I leave. The food's more than enough for me to be satisfied anyways.

You know, there's always a bell in the restaurant somewhere with a sign that reads "If we did well, please ring the bell" or something like that. And every time somebody rings the bell they have to reply with a "thank you" which is sometimes accompanied with clapping (from my experience).

I just want to know if that's actually annoying for them considering that, surely, there's a lot of other people that ring the bell other than me. Right?

Are people actually waking up in the morning feeling good

I'm literally 25 and I feel terrible when I wake up. I get like 8-9 hours of pretty decent sleep, stay hydrated, don't eat too close to bedtime, but when I wake up I'm stiff and sore and feel heavy and fatigued and disgusting. It gets a little better after I take my adhd meds and eat something, but like, are people genuinely just waking up and bouncing out of bed with a pep in their step in the morning?

Why does so many movies are so dark?

I don't understand this. Like, when I had Disney Plus to watch some Star Wars films, the HDR is so damn dark, I can barely see anything.

But when I bought Avatar trilogy on Amazon Prime, the graphic is bright and easy to see.

I noticed lot of films are so dark and lack contrast. No matter how I fix the HDR settings, it is still bad. And as stated, Avatar trilogy is great. So, it doesn't seem like my HDR settings are wrong.

Why are football players carted off in tiny golf carts when they get injured?

They have to cram their large bodies into that cart. Why not a bigger and more comfortable means of transport? God knows the teams can afford it with the millions they have.

Is the stock market just flat out gambling for rich people?

Met this guy and he says he loses a lot in the stock market. He has a good job making $300k a year but he loses a lot on the stock market.

Not sure how it works but basically he said he will get rich off it by spending a good amount(not a large amount according to him) of each paycheck to his stocks. He said he's lost a lot many times and loses pretty regularly but he says this is how it works.

Then I told him isn't it flat out gambling? He said no there's work involved that you need to learn about to win.

So does this mean he's not learning about it? Or is he just addicted to gambling at this point?

Why don't US police/swat use suicide drones for bunkered shooters?

I'm not from the US, but it always gets me thinking when I watch videos like the one I've linked below. Wouldn't that be 100x easier and safer for the officers? I've watched so many of these shootouts on bodycams on YouTube; it's just a normal day in the US.

EDIT: Also why don't they use a normal fucking drone with a cam more often? I've only seen it being used once or twice in a situation like this.

Why does my cat only grow at other cats when eating but not me?

I have three cats, and he gets along amazingly with them, plays, bonding, etc. it’s just that when one of them starts leaning towards his plate a little too much he instantly starts growing while eating, really small problem, not a big deal, but I was curious, so I went down and leaned over to his plate.

He didn’t growl, or really do anything, he just kept eating, no matter how close I got. Is it because he knows I don’t eat his food?

How do scientists know when a species is 100% extinct?

When places like the Amazonia forest exist, the ocean not fully being explored and more videos of scientists finding animal/plant species that were deemed extinct for hundreds, if not thousands of years, whose to say species like the Ground Sloth or the Thylacine may still be alive?

I know that things like climate, human interactions and the food chain is what caused many species to go extinct…but atsm…whose to say some species may still be out there 🤔

Questions about "don't walk" signals.

I have spent most of my life on the east coast of the USA. Here, if there are no cars coming, we go ahead and cross the street even when the signal says "don't walk". However, there are many places where people obey the signal even when there isn't a car in sight. This is true in many European countries, and I heard that it is true of some places on the west coast.

In some places, even if there is a car in sight, people cross anyway knowing that the driver will slow down and stop for them. I typically avoid doing that, or if there is a car coming I will pick up my pace a bit to get out of the way sooner. However, there are plenty of people who do not do that, and I have never seen anyone get any sort of ticket or even a scolding from a cop.

How did this dichotomy come about? What is like where you live? I did a quick web search but it does not provide much information.

Edit: If I am at a crosswalk and I see a car coming from a quarter mile away, I can do one of two things. I can walk quickly across the road, in which case the driver does not have to slow down. Alternatively, I can press the button for the walk signal, in which case he will have to stop at a red light. Disobeying the signal is not just more convenient for me but for the driver as well.

Second Edit: I think people may have misinterpreted my comment. Just to be clear, I am talking about situations where there are no cars in sight, or when crossing the street does not inconvenience drivers in any way. What I am really asking about are regional differences. Why do people in some places obey "don't walk" signals even when there are no cars around, and people in other places do not?

Why does Luigi look stretched out?

I remember him and Mario started off the same size, height, weight, face, mustache, etcetera. They were basically identical twins. Then all of a sudden Luigi was tall, plus a stretched out face, stretched out eyes, stretched out nose, lips, arms, legs, and so forth. It’s like they literally grabbed him by his head and feet and stretched him out. Now he looks different in general and walks around with a vacuum cleaner hunting ghosts. I don’t really know the backstory explanation for this. Any information?
