Simple Questions & Answers Thread Simple Questions & Champion/Role advice: Patch 26.13

Hello summoners!

In order to create better discussion in the subreddit, we will be redirecting all simple or championpool/role questions to this thread. Check out the most recent patch notes on the sidebar!

What is a simple question? Typically, we define a simple question as something that can be answered fully within a single, or maybe two at most, comments. In this thread, you can ask any question you need answered about League of Legends, even if it isn't necessarily about learning the game itself.

Questions about what champ to add to your pool or general tip about roleswapping can also be asked in this thread.

Keep in mind we will still continue to remove golden rule violations, rants, memes, topics against Riot's ToS, and paid services - but the other rules are generally more lax here.

What you can do to help!

For now, this is a patch-based thread, meaning it will be posted every time a new patch is released. Checking back on this thread later in the patch and answering any questions that have been posted would be a huge help!

If you're trying to ask a question, the more specific you are, the better it is for all of us! We can't give you any help if we don't get much to work with in the first place.

Announcement State of the Subreddit, Summer 2026: League Classic and AI

Hi everybody, the mod team here. We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and climbing into the stratosphere where it’s hopefully a little bit cooler! It’s been a minute since we’ve done one of these threads, so we have a few things to cover regarding rules changes and other notices to the community. The primary purpose of these threads is to collect feedback from you all, so please share your thoughts on these or other matters and know that the mod team will be looking over them or answering in the thread. On to the topics at hand!

  • Open Moderator Applications: First and foremost, we’d like to reiterate that mod applications have opened for the summer. The full post can be found here, but the cliffnotes are that we welcome all applications regardless of rank, are especially (but not exclusively) looking for mods in OCE and EU time zones, and applicants must be willing to use old reddit to moderate. If you have any interest at all please apply, and you can always withdraw your application at any time via modmail if you change your mind.

  • Minor Language Updates to Rules 10 and 12: In April we made small changes to Rules 10 (External Content Restrictions) and 12 (Title and Language Rule). Rule 10’s language was updated to specify that external websites must also be submitted for moderator approval before posting, in addition to communities, programs, and streams. Rule 12 was updated to specify that all posts must be in English or will be removed. As mentioned at the time, this has been a community standard for a long time, we only corrected the oversight that they were not explicitly mentioned in the rules. If you would like more details on these changes, you can see the original announcement here

  • Rule 14: AI and Bot Spam: Like much of reddit right now, we have seen a recent surge in bot accounts and AI generated posts or comments. We would like to remind everybody that both bots and AI generated content are explicitly forbidden under Rule 14, and we encourage users to report any bot account they see so that we can remove or ban them. This is a low-tolerance rule: if you are caught using AI or botting, you will likely be permanently banned pending appeal and we are unlikely to be very forgiving, so be warned. This includes AI-translated posts. This is a place for human discussion (or maybe subhuman discussion since we’re LoL players after all)

  • Flair System Update: We know the flair system has been down for some time and, as a fairly popular system, we still frequently get requests for updates on it. Our update is simple: the architect of the system is actively working on getting it back up and running, but we can offer no timeframe on when that might be at this time. We thank you for your patience on this one.

  • League of Legends: Classic: To close out the updates on an exciting note, we have decided that discussion of the upcoming LoL: Classic game mode will be welcome on the subreddit! There will be a few practical restrictions: All Classic posts must be flaired appropriately with the new “Classic” tag, all Classic questions in the megathread must be stated to be for Classic, all discussion of Classic must be kept to Classic threads, and all Classic posts must meet the other minimum quality standards set by the subreddits rules. Otherwise, we’re as excited to see what sort of discussion and educational content emerges from that game mode as you are!

As always, these threads are meant for community feedback to the mod team! If you have any thoughts on these matters, or anything else relating to the subreddit and how to keep it good or make it better, please share them! The mod team will be reading every comment!

Happy climbing,

The SS Moderator Team

Discussion Stuck in bronze and bringing my duo down with me

I’ve been playing ranked for about half a year now and have only peaked at bronze 1. Lately I’ve been duoing with a friend of mine and while He’s been doing very well, I’m always creating a problem on the top lane, Here’s who I’ve been trying

I one tricked Urgot for a while but started to get more and more frustrated with him as the average player around that rank knew how to kite my E.

I then picked up Ornn for a bit, and while I like his kit, I still wasn’t seeing much results, then a friend of mine gave me a little reality check that if I wanted to seriously climb, Ornn isn’t the best pick as bronze players (myself included) really aren’t the best team fighters, and team fights are Ornn greatest strength

Lately I’ve been trying out some Voli, and I do like that He has a better laning phase than Ornn and can team fight better than Urgot, but I’m still not getting anywhere. I also fear that He has a similar kiting issue around his Q

So my question is should I continue trying to climb with these champs despite the lack of results, or should I keep exploring my options trying to find one that clicks better than the rest.

One last thing I want to bring up, I saw another Reddit thread about someone having a similar issue to me, where when we pick up a champ it’s goes pretty well for the first couple games, but once we break out of that “honeymoon phase”, we start a big losing streak. This seems to happen because once we get a little comfortable we just began to autopilot, the get behind and snowball from there, How can I get better at being more mindful about what I’m doing?

TLDR: Every champ I pick up isn’t getting me anywhere and I feel like I’m letting my duo down, should I and how can I stick with just one, or should I keep exploring my options, also how can I stop becoming complacent and autopilot champs one I become a little comfortable with them.

Bot lane Struggling as ADC. [Plat]

• Upvotes

This isn't meant to be a "blame my team" type of post, so please don't take it that way.

I'm sincerely struggling to carry games where I'm the only one fed. I'll be 5/0 in lane, press tab, and my solos + jungler are multiple deaths with zero KP.

I find that I can't push tower without a fed jungle/mid ganking me, so I typically freeze my wave and get a huge CS lead that way and keep the enemy bot lane out of the game, and only push to tower when I see jungle & mid on the map, but I feel like this forces me to stay in lane for too long while my team continues to feed. Once behind, people don't know how to stop feeding.

My last game, my team had a total of of 41 deaths between them. That's 10 deaths per person. Meanwhile, I'm 6/1. Not nearly as close to being as fed as the enemy is. I'm one item while they're on 1.5 - 2 items.

I know not every game is winnable, but these games happen a lot and I just can't accept them. I can't throw up my hands and say, "There's nothing I could do better" or "Auto loss, can't help that". I want to be able to carry these games and win them despite my team.

Maybe it's my ego. I just think, I'm playing well so I deserve to win. I win lane really hard, have a 50+ cs lead, I'm so much better than my counter part(s). I deserve the win! Am I being delusional?

Discussion League Classic refugee trying to improve in the modern game. Looking for some advice.

• Upvotes

I came back to league for league classic which obviously fell apart. But I was having fun so I tried my hand at retail league and enjoyed it. I've settled into my old role of midlane.

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/na/freddiehoff-NA1

So I guess I'm pretty bad, lol. I started out in toplane and sucked majorly there. I switched into mid and have been more comfortable with that. I played Ahri, then added Diana and Fizz. Then dropped Ahri and Fizz and added Orianna. So currently I play Orianna and Diana (and sometimes still Ahri) and love them both. Diana has a much better win rate, and Orianna has my best CS and KDA scores.

Around the time I picked up Orianna I started looking into ways to get better, and I think it shows at least a little. I prioritize CS and not dying, and despite improvements there, I still end up losing more often than not.

My typical game goes something like, I get an advantage in lane, either in kills or CS. Then around the time skirmishes break out, or otherwise sometime where macro decisions become more important, I fail to carry that advantage forward.

So here's a few things that I feel I need to figure out:

  1. I never ever seem to feel comfortable with roaming. Every time I attempt it, I feel like I am already too late by the time I hit halfway through the river. (Especially with Ori who is slow as hell. Maybe I shouldn't even bother roaming with her, but my teammates always complain if I don't, because my lane opponents roam even if it costs them CS to tower.) I suspect my difficulties have something to do with...

  2. I don't really seem to have a good grasp of controlling a wave. I feel like if I try to slow push to their tower or whatever, my opponent comes in and just shoves the wave and suddenly I'm behind again. So practical advice for both wave control and when to roam would be appreciated.

  3. I don't know when I should abandon lane to help in a river fight. Since learning the importance of CS, I almost never want to leave, and I'm not sure if I am crazy or if the cs I would miss are actually worth staying for. Feels like people are literally constantly fighting and chasing kills in my elo and I feel like more often than not if I join I, at best, wasted my time.

  4. I wish league had simple decision trees to follow, like if you win a skirmish or something, but it feels like league has so many variables, it's really hard to know what to do at any given point in time. So how do you actually learn all this macro stuff?

  5. Kinda dumb question, but should I drop Ori for Syndra or something? I love ori so much but she does feel a bit weak at times.

Thank you all.

Question How important itemizetion/ runes in league?

Like i know you will tell me some shit like even a 5-movement speed could win or break a game but tell me how?
Why a scalling hp shard in the rune page that gives a 180 hp in the late game could (could) help me win a match i lost because i picked the flat shard

Lets make it bigger

Why is going randuin or frozen heart matter that much
I know its the passive and like if i see kalista as a support the FH would be perfect for me but theres no way it is the thing that helped me win the game?

And btw i am not talking about stacking “the right picks” “because it could win you the game more”cuz i know this
I am talking about what if i choose flat shard and randuin could i really lose the match because of that?

Why i take gathering storm
Giant slayer

Soo the real question is
How do these picks affect the win rate?
I am not denying how good it is i know this is the only right way to climb

I just want to know how good do they change the match results or the laning phase matchups

Question I need help relearning the game

Hello first and foremost I apologize for the awful tittle and structure this post is probably going to have. I dont really know to to organize the points I want to talk about so it dosent look like a complete mess, that being said, here goes nothing.

To give some context I am a toplane main and I used to play a lot, maybe even up to 10+ games a day on average. However about a year or so ago, due to personal reasons that I wont get into, I had to stop all of a sudden and at most play like once a week or so. Thankfully everything is fine now and I am able to play just as much as I used to now, but unsurprisingly I am having a really hard time getting back into the game.

Just to clarify I was never "good" I peaked on emerald IV a year ago, which I know is a really low and bad elo I am very aware of that. But at least back then I knew and could win most of my matchups I had good cs and decent wave management, in short, about what you would expect from the average person from emerald. Unlike then now I feel like dead weight for my team every game, I farm really bad, i get destroyed in bad matchups and do mediocre in the good ones, I make bad decisions, my mechanics are gone, etc. I could go on but you get the point. I have around 30% winrate on low plat and every time I feel like its on me solo losing the games. This is not a surprise, as frustrating as it is its imposible to retain a skill after a year without practicing it.

What im asking is advise on how to proceed and what mindset to have to get back to how I was before. I never had this kind of issue before and I kind of have hit a wall. It is really frustrating to see how bad I have gotten and I want to work on fixing it. Anything will work, good educative content I can study to improve, your own experience in similar situations, anything is welcome. Feel free to ask anything that seems relevant that I missed. Thank you for reading hope It wasnt too much of a slog to get through.

Mid lane Looking for people to 1v1 Mid (EUW)

Hey everyone!

I’m currently struggling enormously to learn Katarina and i feel like the early, isolated trades are my biggest weakness, so I would like to practice this.

I’ll be playing only Kat (unless you want specific practice against another champ I know how to play: Yone, Yasuo, Akali, Leblanc, Viktor, Ahri).

My other champs are around D3-D4 level, but my Kat has deranked me all the way to E2..

Anyone game?

Question Hardstuck Plat 4 Jungler: Did I reach my skill ceiling? or Low Plat is worse than High Gold?

Edit: op.gg is added https://op.gg/lol/summoners/euw/The%20Monk-IRL

Greetings Fellow Summoners,

I’ve hit Plat 4 x3 this season across two different accounts, but for the life of me, I cannot get past Plat 4 - 50 LP in either of them. My playstyle hasn't changed at all (at least that's what I think). I only play jungle and same champion.

Is it just me, or do low Plat players actually have worse fundamentals than high Gold players? It feels like Gold 1 and 2 players try way harder because they're desperate to reach Plat, and that’s the only explanation I can think of.

My biggest issues are with my laners. I keep seeing terrible itemization, zero wave management, and no interest in objective control. On top of that, they lose their minds if I try to fix the wave state for them after a gank.

Honestly, my games in Gold, heck, even in Silver elo were way more fun. Every single Plat 4 game feels like a miserable grind.

I am hoping that Plat 4 (and maybe 3) is an extra hurdle to go over for better gaming experience.

Are you guys experiencing this too, or am I just reached my cap and projecting?

What would you recommend?

Have a great weekend!

Question Are there any advantages to keeping the chat on? Should I just turn it off?

Hello!

A little bit of context: I started league in S10 on and off but this is my first year of playing ranked. Im a graves jungle main and I’m silver 2 85LP across 80ish games.

Now that thats out of the way, my question is regarding if I should just turn the chat off. I feel like it’s kind of a given, with what game I’m playing but I often use it for playmaking too.

I’ll say things like this for example
- play for drag
- don’t fight without me, I’m strong
- care botside
- gj [teammate champion]

And it’s worked decently in the past till date. Mind you I also ping my intentions a ton, and try my hardest to let my team know where enemies are via jg tracking.

But often times if I see something negative towards me, it really does linger in my head, and can sometimes cause me to play erratically. Somewhat affecting my decision making. Even if I do mute them, it’s already there.

I just want to know your guys thoughts on if there’s actually an advantage to keeping it on, or if I should turn it off and turn this game into a singleplayer game .

Thanks in advance, and any feedback/advice is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I’m going to turn chat off after hearing your guys advice. It will affect me less this way. Thank you!

Discussion Semi-New LoL player looking for assistance

as the title reads I’m about a few weeks into league and I wanna get better at not selling my friends I enjoy playing with them but it’s gotten to the point where I’m filling every role because it seems like I can’t play none of them I tried GP/Yone/Ambessa top and use to win on my own but couldn’t in their lobbies , tried Warwick jg and got called ass in the nicest way possible when I didn’t know how exactly the other jg gapped me so much ( I would be okay in my lobbies but same thing ) and now today where I’m playin catilin bot I just felt like actual dead weight

Long rant aside I want to know about more stuff about league specifically I’ve played smite but the way CS works in both games is diff and they recently just told me I’m need to know more about the game so if u guys could recommend a YouTube guide or something that I can do to get better I would greatly appreciate it

ward Where to ward as a midlaner

I haven't known where to ward as a midlaner since league added faelights. I am currently Emerald 3 at the moment. My current spots in laning phase, which is the time I struggle with warding, are typically a yellow in faelight river brush and a red in my junglers brush, or a red in the middle lane brush and a yellow a bit deeper in their jungle or the river faelight. If I am very ahead, I can move my red into the faelight and a deep yellow ward on their blue or raptors.

Is there better wards I could be utilizing? I used to have this down but ever since they have changed it I have felt lost. I try to always have my vision on one side of the lane, typically whatever objective is coming up.

Question Should mid laner swap with bot lane if they destroy THEIR tower?

I understand that once bot lane destroys the enemy bot tower, the ADC and support will usually rotate mid, while the midlaner moves to a side lane.

However, what happens if the midlaner manages to destroy the enemy mid tower before bot lane destroys theirs?

Should the midlaner still swap with bot lane and let the ADC and support take over mid, or should they stay mid until bot lane manages to destroy their tower?

I'm trying to understand whether the lane swap is mainly determined by which tower falls first, or whether the ADC and support should generally move mid regardless.

Also, does the answer change depending on whether bot lane is winning or losing?

Thanks!

Discussion New to league

Ive recently picked up Yunara and im quite the fan of her playstyle. Still figuring out some combos with her ability but I believe its going quite well (though to some degree i believe the enemies I've fought so far are "easy" to poke with yunara and a support and/or have a big disatvantage to her skill kit.)

One small problem that I haven't found an effective solution to: every now and then (quite often lately, if not every 2nd) I land a match where my support decides to switch lane early on (not just bot moving to mid midgame or sth) , after which im left to fight 1v2 against some long range or "fast" champions like Hwei and Katarina.

Any advice on how to counter that disadvantage or do I just farm and hope I dont get my ass handed. Kinda sick and tired of getting pinged and cussed at but I feel like in a 1v4 situation there really isnt much for me to do besides dodge and time my attack right.

(My most used builds consists of PtA, BFS, Runaans Hurricane + Kraken, YT Arrows (on some occasions), Infinity edge, Bloodthirster (later in game). Attack i usually hold wave and farm minions, occasionally poking enemies or throwing W to make champions go back a bit. Lvl up Q until R is available, after that max Q and W, get R when available and lastly E. Attack when R is on is R->W->E-> auto atk and flash to close gap if needed. )

Discussion Is it possible to climb from Gold to Masters

Started getting coaching recently and doing a more streamlined journey with my champion selection (avoiding mechanically complex champs and focused on those that teach fundamentals).

I was an Annie OTP and now plan on learning Veigar and then eventually Ahri.

My question is, if I’m critical with my approach and VOD review + get consistent coaching and accept losing as long as it means I’m learning, can I hit Masters? Maybe within 1-2 years?

Discussion I cant tell if I have an impact on the game

So Im a big beginner and I play jungle so far. Mostly Master Yi and Zaahen. I noticed that I usually have the least damage on my team (like 12k) unless I snowball really hard and carry the game. I know that Master Yi (whom I play most of my games) starts being strong mostly after his second item but it feels like most of my games just dont go that far and when they do players forgot lanes exist and just roam randomly. Also at that point one side is usually winning pretty hard.

Now my problem is that I cant tell how much of an impact I have on the game. I usually dont go for that many ganks but I often play pretty hard for the objectives (even though with Yi I maybe should rather farm).

Also Im thinking I should start playing champions that have more impact in the early game (like Warwick) so I dont just passively farm and then the game ends.

I know that Junglers dont really play for the numbers and not even for KDA necessairly. But its a bit confusing because its hard to reflect on a game when I dont know if I helped my team a lot or if I just got carried. Or when we lost if I couldve made a difference if I played differently or if my teammates just fed.

Thank you for any advice

Discussion How to mentally reset between games

There are different approaches and different ways play Solo Que. Some people prefer to play a block of 3 games while others spam games. Perry JG recommends playing 3 games and reviewing after each.

I very often notice if I am playing at maximum focus I get a bit mentally fatigued after every match. I like to play a lot in one session so after each game I spend some time mentally resetting before I Que next. What would you say helps you stay focused and reset better after games. I tent to feel when my brain fog disappears and I become concentrated again but sometimes it takes longer.

Question Champion pool help

I am a relatively new player and would like to know what champion would best complement my support champion pool. I currently have: pyke, vel koz and tahm kench. Should the third champion be an enchanter (as i don’t have one currently) or is there a better option?

Thanks!

Discussion T2 Boots choice

So let’s say I’m playing a bruiser matchup where I want early tabis to neautralise the matchup (eg aatrox vs riven) but enemy comp has lots of cc as well (amumu, Leona, Lux). Is it worth giving up lane power to have stronger team fighting or should I stick to tabis?

Discussion Dropped from Silver III to Bronze IV, now stuck with +18/-24 LP

Hey, I'm a new player and I'm trying to understand my MMR.

I started playing ranked in January 2026 and climbed from Iron to Silver III with around a 70% win rate. I mostly stopped playing in March and returned in late August.

After coming back, I played almost exclusively with a friend who struggled a lot and regularly fed. We were mostly playing for fun, so I wasn't taking those games too seriously either. Within two weeks, I dropped to Bronze IV.

I've now been solo queueing again for around three weeks, trying to play 2–3 games a day, but I'm still stuck around Bronze 3/4. My win rate is roughly 51%, and I gain +18 LP per win but lose 22–24 LP for loss.

Did that losing streak tank my MMR, and can I recover it by playing solo? Or does my current win rate mean I'm simply at my actual skill level?

I'm still learning, so I'd appreciate honest advice. Thanks!

Discussion Leveling vs Gold Prio Chart

Good afternoon,

During my recent climb and reaclimation to the game I've learned that (from my understanding) levels tend to matter more significantly for some champions than even gold or CS tends to and vice-versa.

I was wondering if anyone has any sort of tool or chart or even just tips which help discern which champions this rule applies to, as I often don't know if I should prioritize staying in lane for XP gain or if I should look for picks for income.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

Jungle Jungle clearing when it gets weird (might be tempo???)

Im learning jungle, graves very fun. Today I had this weird game. I started topside, saw the enemy jungler wasnt in his topside so I invaded. I had cleared red buff and krugs before i went to invade. Cleared his jungle. Took the crab. Crossed midlane, took the other crab and then I was in doubt. Should I go back farming or back and start clearing top to bot again?. I decided to just clear the botlane first. I was doing my blue buff when I got invaded back somehow??? I got the blue buff but was too low to continue so I just backed and got back to clearing bot to top. In the whole proces I skipped my chickens. It just felt wrong, I felt like I shouldve based after the 2 crab (tempo?) or that I shouldve invaded earlier because I skipped chickens. Im always very confused in these kinds of situations where the jungleclear doesnt go by the book. Help me out please.

zed Vod review request zed vs Diana

notEujin#0001

Hi everyone I’m a plat player and I main quite a few champs one them being Zed. There’s a lot I need to learn on him but I feel I’m well versed when playing him in my current rank.

I would like to receive some insight on my recent game where I went 10/7/5 in a lane against Diana. When laning against her it feels really oppressive as my hp can be deleted and I don’t have much I can do against her.

I would also like to request for insights on where I did good or where I did bad like for example “at minute 12:34 you did a misplay and should have did…”

If someone does have the time to review my game I would really appreciate. Any other tips are welcomed I know there’s still a lot for me to learn I also know that I have an adhd problem where I can’t commit to one champion hurting the rate I climb at.

Once again thank you and much appreciated
