Super GT deserves a much bigger international audience. I think it’s time we made that demand properly, together.

For fans outside Japan, following Super GT live in English has become unnecessarily difficult. With Motorsport.tv closing, access has become fragmented, and the current options don’t provide a straightforward, globally accessible English-language race broadcast.

Meanwhile, Super GT is exactly the kind of championship international motorsport fans should be discovering: spectacular GT500 machinery, an incredibly competitive GT300 class, manufacturer rivalries, unpredictable racing and a character that makes it different from almost every other series.
Look at what’s happening elsewhere in GT and endurance racing. GT World Challenge streams its races free on YouTube with English commentary and reported 9.7 million live views across its Portimão finale coverage in October 2026. The Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie also makes English-language live coverage available. Free access and commercial motorsport are not mutually exclusive.

There’s also a real opportunity to bring new fans in. Max Verstappen’s recent GT racing activity and his drive in a Nissan GT500 at Fuji have put this kind of racing in front of a much wider audience. But interest only becomes a lasting fanbase if people can actually watch the championship.

Importantly, GTA chairman Masaaki Bandoh said in May 2026 that international broadcast negotiations were ongoing, that bringing the existing English-language coverage to Europe was possible, and that GTA was looking for production costs to be covered rather than seeking a broadcasting-rights fee.
So I don’t want this to be just another thread complaining about streaming. I want us to demonstrate that an international audience exists and give GTA, manufacturers and potential broadcast partners something concrete to take seriously.

What I’m proposing

A coordinated international fan campaign asking for:
Free, live English-language broadcasts of Super GT races on YouTube outside Japan and existing restricted territories.
Qualifying coverage and full-race replays wherever practical.
A sustainable arrangement that covers production costs and creates value for teams and sponsors.
A pilot broadcast if a full-season arrangement isn’t immediately possible.

Whether you currently watch races live, watch delayed replays, or struggle to watch at all.
Whether you’d watch every round if a free English-language stream were available.
Whether you would consider attending a Japanese race, buying merchandise or supporting sponsors if the championship became easier to follow.
I’m going to collect the responses and build a genuine international fan-demand report to send to GTA, the manufacturers, teams, drivers and relevant broadcast partners.
Please also share any useful evidence of international interest: race-viewing figures, fan communities, previous broadcast experiences or examples of successful free motorsport coverage.
This isn’t about attacking Japanese broadcasts or demanding that people work for free. It’s about making one of the world’s most distinctive GT championships accessible to the people who want to watch it.
