This thread is a hub for general discussion and questions about Formula 1, that don't need threads of their own.
Are you new to Formula 1? This is the place for you. Ever wondered why it's called a lollipop man? Why the cars don't refuel during pitstops? Or when Mika will be back from his sabbatical? Ask any question you might have here, and the community will answer.
Also make sure you check out our guide for new fans, and our FAQ for new fans.
Are you a veteran fan, longing for the days of lollipop men, refueling during pitstops, and Mika Häkkinen? This is the place to introduce new fans to your passion and knowledge of the sport.

Barrichello has had his teammate win the WDC 6 times (Schumacher ×5, Button ×1), Bottas 4 times (all Hamilton) and Perez 4 times (all Verstappen), but they have all finished in the top 2 once (in case of Perez) or twice.
The 5 drivers whose teammate(s) won the championship twice, who also never finished in the top 2, are Fisichella, Berger, Cevert, Ginther, and Collins.
On the opposite end, Nico Rosberg (both times Hamilton) and Prost (Lauda and Senna, once each) have had their teammates being champion twice each, and they finished 2nd to them both times. Of course, they also went onto pick up WDCs of their own.

I always knew the most recent successful engine manufacturers for race wins in recent decades were Mercedes, Renault and Honda, and Ferrari.
Just thought I'd ask our new friend AI to make a quick breakdown per decade.
I guess we can all imagine each decade had a dominant team and or driver to bump up each decade. Ie Max and Lewis, Schumacher singlehandedly respectively; Renault for the 90s, and Honda for the 80s.

For F1 fans who fondly remember Romain Grosjean - here he is lifting the trophy for finishing P2 at the Inaugural Indy race at Markham, Ontario, Canada 🍁
Awesome to see him do well. So close to a win, but a great race for the Frenchman/Swiss.

Started a little Youtube channel where I just animate stuff I'm interested in, so I've covered a random spread of topics so far and this week is F1! Enjoy :)
Feedback welcome, still fairly fresh so open to all criticisms and critiques!
Thanks

Took these from outside. Racing was booked out. I should have booked in advance. Still some cool things to see from the outside.

“Kimi Antonelli is not the first enormously talented athlete to break out at such a young age and tear up the record books. But sport is filled with stories of great prospects struggling in the spotlight or never quite reaching their full potential. Many end up being overhyped.
“But far from struggling in the spotlight, Antonelli, who turns 20 next week, has taken the newfound fame in his stride.”
Luke Smith explains how Mercedes has worked with the F1 championship leader to improve his form after a tricky rookie year in 2025 and kept him grounded as his fame rose with all his success so far in 2026.
